Parsha Kedoshim
Leviticus 19:1 – 20:27
Please Pray this
Prayer
First before reading.
In the name of Yahushua
Our
Messiyah,
I pray for
the Spirit of Understanding
The Spirit
of Knowledge and
The Spirit
of Wisdom
As I read through this Parsha
This Torah portion
Kedoshin “holiness” begins by explaining the reason for these prohibition, it
was to make a group of people become holy by emulating its CREATOR as much as possible.
The purpose of
this holiness is for a people to grow spiritually in this life here on earth.
The only way to accomplish this is to be obedient to the Commandment found in
Torah.
These commandment
demands more than minimal observance, for as one experience the sixth days of
Creation need to Create a perfect son, we are required to climb up the ladder
of spiritual holiness, one would elevate his soul his ego to what the Torah and
the Holy Spirit requires.
It was and it is
still ABBA YAHVEH’S will to rest HIS Presence among the Hebrew people, so that
they could be called a holy people for HIS service. In order to achieve this,
Yisrael was enjoined to avoid the Spiritual contamination that result from
religious and sexual practices.
The Torah teaches
that respect for parents ordains that they must be honored through personal
service, but that is to be done in a respectful manner.
The definition of
Shabbat observance goes beyond the seventh day of the week and includes the
seventh year sabbatical, for that too tesify that ABBA YAHVEH is the CREATOR
and MASTER of the Universe.
We are also
exorted in Torah Portion Kadoshim that the prohibition against idolatry
includes not only worship, but anything that shows them credence or respect,
even when there could be some personal advantage in doing so.
In this Shabbat of Kedoshim,
we should all take the time to pray to the Holy Spirit; for the Spirit of the YAHVEH
shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of
counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHVEH.
Let the Spirit of Understanding write the Torah on our heart, and allow the
Spirit of Wisdom to help us walk in what we understand.
Lev 19:1 And יהוה
spoke to Mosheh, saying, - Our Creator uses this
verse, to illustrate a point, that He is the Creator, therefore He alone must
determine the parameters in which those in His Kingdom must operate.
The opening words of this
chapter are similar to those used when the Ten Commandments were given. This
demonstrates the supreme importance of morality in Elohim’s scheme for the
Hebrew people.
Just as the nation cannot
exist without the acknowledgement that EL YAHVEH is our El, so it must accept
upon itself the laws holiness, parents, and idols.
It is always EL YAHVEH Will to
rest His Presence among the Hebrew People so that it they could rise to its
calling to be a Holy Nations, Exodus 19:6.
In order to make this
possible, Yisrael was required to avoid the spiritual contaminations that would
result from the sexual and religious practices listed in the previous chapters.
This Parsha begins to explain
that the reason for these prohibitions was to make it possible for a nation to
become Holy by imitating its First Born Son El Yahushua as much as humanly
possible.
Further more, the purpose of
this holiness code is for believers in the Lamb that was slain from the
foundation of the earth, to become elevated in their lives spiritually while
still in this world. The way to accomplish is through scrupulous adherence to
the commandments found in Torah.
These command demands more
than a minimum observance, for as one makes his request know that he or she is
willing to clime up the spiritual ladder holiness, one must obey and practice
what the Torah teaches.
Therefore the Torah teaches that
the respect for a parent was ordains not only that they are honored through
personal service, but also that it be done in a respectful manner.
The definition of the Sabbath
observance goes beyond the seventh day of the week and includes the seventh year
sabbatical of field and loans, for they, too, testify that Elohim are the
Creator and Masters of the Universe.
We are exhorted that the
prohibition against idolatry includes not only acts of worship, but anything
that shows them credence or respect, even when there could be some personal
advantage in doing so.
Lev 19:2 “Speak to
all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘Be
set-apart, for I יהוה
your Elohim am set-apart. - This message must be given to every member of
the Children of Yisrael, that they must set themselves apart, to be prepared to
be the Bride.
Lev 19:3 ‘Each one
of you should fear his mother and his father, and guard My Sabbaths. I am יהוה your Elohim. – As a bride to be, we must learn to fear and honor our parent, and safe
guard the Sabbath, for the Sabbath is the goal for the bride to be. It is the
sign that we are one of the Grooms wise virgins.
Reverence or fear means that one
should act towards his parents, as he would towards a sovereign with the power
to punish those treat him disrespectfully. Honor, as mandated in the Ten
Commandments, refers in general to serving one’s parents, such as feeling and
dressing them, or assisting them if they find it difficult to walk.
We are to revere our parent, but not
at the expense of the commandments. We are to honor them as if it was EL YAHVEH
living among us.
The Torah speaks of the Sabbaths in
the plural, a very unusual usage of the word. This alludes to a higher and
lower meaning of the Sabbath. The higher Sabbath alludes to the holiness of the
Sabbath, the day on which Elohim permits His Presence to be more apparent and
accessible, so that the Hebrew can unite themselves with godliness.
The lower Sabbath is its practice
aspect as a day of rest, when every Hebrew can forget about the cares of the
world and devote themselves to higher pursuits.
Lev 19:4 ‘Do not turn to idols, and do not
make for yourselves moulded mighty ones. I am יהוה your Elohim. – Having exhorted all the Hebrew to show regard for the three partners EL
YAHVEH, fathers and Mothers, who brought into existence, the Torah now forbids
anyone to add false deities to the partnership. The word idol and molted gods.
The word idol contains the syllable lx not, or nothing, because these gods have no
power and no spiritual value. But if someone is foolish enough to turn to idol,
he will begin to respect them as if they truly were gods.
These idols are our jobs, I have to
work on Sabbath or on Passover, so I cant come to church.
Verse 5 – 8 explain Piggul or reason
why a offering is rejected. An offering can be disqualified by improper
intentions at the time of the service. This teaches that it’s not enough to
carry out the commandments mechanically; one must perform them with the right
intention, as well.
Each offering has its specified time
limitations for being eaten or burned on the Altar. This passage deals with two
disqualifications:
§
If at the time of the
service the Kohen/Pastor has in mind that the offering will be eaten or burned
after the proper time, the offering become piggul; its service may not be continued. If the blood
service is concluded, one who eats the flesh of the offering is punished by kares.
§
If the Pastor has in mind
that the offering will be eaten or burned in the wrong place, it becomes
disqualified, but the punishment for eating it is kares.
Only an offering that is perfect in every ways can become
piggul. People should conduct themselves with this in mind.
Lev 19:5 ‘And when you bring a peace
offering to יהוה,
bring it for your acceptance. - An offering must be slaughtered in such a way
that they will find favor in EL YAHVEH’S Eyes, but if it is slaughtered with
the improper intentions describe above, the offering is rejected.
Lev 19:6 ‘It is eaten the same day you
slaughter it, and on the next day. And that which is left on the third day is
burned with fire. – This verse cannot refer to the
actual time of eating, because that requirement has been given in 7:16, Rather,
it means that if the Kohen intends at the time of the slaughter that it will be
eaten after the deadline, it become disqualified immediately.
Lev 19:7 ‘So if it is eaten at all on the
third day, it is abominable, it is not accepted, - In general terms, food left for the third day should not be eaten.
Lev 19:8 and he who
eats it bears his crookedness, because he has profaned the set-apart offering
of יהוה, and that
being shall be cut off from his people. – Any persons who
disregard the laws that specify when an offering may be eaten implies that he
considers the sacrificial meat to be eaten implies that he consider the
sacrificial meat to be nothing more than a means of gratifying his appetite.
Verse 9 – 10 explains giving to the
poor. We have been commanded to imitate EL YAHVEH’S holiness to whatever extend
humanly possible, to honor parents, one’s partners and to respect his sacred
offering.
This scripture continues the
progression. EL YAHVEH is merciful and charitable, so it stands to reason that
He should command His people to display the same sort of kindness by setting
aside part of their wealth for the poor.
This is why is why this passage
regarding gifts to the poor ends with the words I am YAHVEH, your EL. Then, the
Torah continues with the laws of honesty business dealing among all categories
of people, between the authority and the people, and the social relationship of
love and considerations.
A Hebrew must discharge his
responsibilities to others before he regards his own. Even at the moment of his
harvest, when a full season of labor comes to its climax, he must leave part of
his crop for the poor before he takes it for himself and his family.
Lev 19:9 ‘And when you reap the harvest of
your land, do not completely reap the corners of your field or gather the
gleanings of your harvest. – The edge of our wheat
field, or our orange orchard, those that grow at the edge of the field must be
left for the poor or the traveler. If during reaping any thing that falls to
the ground must be left for the poor.
Lev 19:10 ‘And do
not glean your vineyard or gather every grape of your vineyard, leave them for
the poor and the stranger. I am יהוה your Elohim. - We are commanded not to pick the
single grapes on the vine, only those in a cluster. The poor are entitled to
take harvest them for themselves. These gifts for the poor must be left in the
field.
Verse 11 – 15 deals with honest
dealings with others. Steeling, robbery, false oaths, and so on are never the
norms in an enlighten society; if they were, to practice these things their
society would breakdown.
There are other subtle manifestations
of these sins. It is not at all uncommon for a society to be lax in its ethics.
People may look for ways to deceive others in business, to deny obligations
that cannot be proven, to invoke YAH’S name to convince others that lies are
true, to underpaid labors, or to seek personal gain through unctuous flattery.
Such conduct is wrong, even thought
the court may not be able to deal with it. By using the plural in condemning
such practices, EL YAHVEH implies that He wants Yisrael as a whole to look to
its general standards of honesty and upright conduct.
Lev 19:11 ‘Do not
steal, do not lie, do not deceive one another. – The prohibition applies not only to the person actually committing the
sin, but also to those who abet it or make false accusation, such as a witness
who remains silent through he has seen a thief or knows that someone is
withholding property, and someone who falsely claims money that is not owed
him, or unjustifiably demands an oath.
The prohibition against lying, says we
shall not deny falsely, and you shall not lie. Do not deny that you posses
property that someone has left in trust with you, and do not lie, by backing up
your denial with a false oath.
The progression of sins listed in this
verse; illustrate the defense mechanism of human nature, which takes control of
a person once he allows himself to sin. If someone steals, he will seek to
defend himself by denying that it ever happened, and he may well go so far as
to swear falsely to cover up his guilt.
Lev 19:12 ‘And do
not swear falsely by My Name and so profane the Name of your Elohim. I am יהוה. – Someone who
swears falsely demonstrates that he has no respect for EL YAHVEH’S Name.
Lev 19:13 ‘Do not oppress your
neighbor or rob him. The wages of him who is hired is not to remain with you
all night until morning. – By depriving a worker of his
earnings, or by deceitfully or forcible withhold anything belonging to another
person, such as an article that was in your position.
If a worker was hired for the day, his employer
has until morning to pay him; if he was hired for the night, he must be paid by
the next evening. The prohibition applies from the time the wages become
payable; thus, if a worker is hired by the week, his wages is payable at the
end of the week, not on a daily basis.
Lev 19:14 ‘Do not curse the
deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but fear your Elohim. I am יהוה. – In additional to the general meaning of this
verse, symbolically that one should not give bad advise to an unsuspecting
person, particularly if the advisor stand to benefit from the other’s error. It
is also forbidden to cause someone to sin.
The message of this commandment is that we are
responsible for the spiritual welfare of those who are younger spiritually, and
not put anything in there way that might cause them to sin.
Someone who gives bad advice can easily hide his
perfidy by saying he was sincere and meant well. But the Torah warns him that
he cannot deceive EL YAHVEH. If he is indeed treacherous to his friends, Yah
can be trusted to punish him.
One who preys on the deaf and blind should beware,
for YAHVEH can punish him by making him deaf or blind.
Lev 19:15 ‘Do no
unrighteousness in right ruling. Do not be partial to the poor or favor the
face of the great, but rightly rule your neighbor in righteousness. – A
judge who rules falsely is guilty of a perversion of justice and what he has
done is an abomination. But if litigants deceive the judge by lying, they are
responsible for the perversion of justice that they will have cause.
Do not say that since the wealthy man is obligated
to help the poor, it is proper for a judge to rule in favor of the poor
litigant so that he will supported in dignity. Torah stress that justice must
be rendered honestly; charity may not interfere with it.
With righteousness shall you judge your fellow
man! In addition to its simple meaning, the verse teaches that one must always
give people the benefit of the doubt. That judges must be object while members
of society, as a whole should seek to justify their fellows, is no
contradiction at all. A judge may not consider extraneous factors that explain
why someone acted as he did, but do not absolve him from payment.
But in the social sphere, we must be careful not
to condemn. That someone acted improperly and is liable for it does not
necessarily make him worthy of rejection by his peers.
Lev 19:16 ‘Do not
go slandering among your people. Do not stand against the blood of your
neighbor. I am יהוה. - Slander, it is forbidden to tell
someone what others have said or done behind his back, if there is even the
slightest possibility that it may cause harm.
The Hebrew word lybr is related to lbvr peddler, because a
gossip goes from person to person and house to house peddling his slander and
gossip. Gossipmonger is a great sin and has been the cause of much bloodshed.
This why the Torah follows up this commandment by warning against standing
aside while someone’s blood is shed.
Lev 19:17 ‘Do not hate your brother in your heart. Reprove your neighbor, for certain,
and bear no sin because of him. – This verse speaks of
your antagonist as your brother. Even though he wronged you, think of him as a
brother and do not fall prey to hatred.
Lev 19:18 ‘Do not
take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people. And you
shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am יהוה. - Revenge consist of retaliating against
someone who has displeased you, by attempting to do him harm, or by refusing to
do him a favor that you would normally have done.
Even if someone does not retaliate, it
is forbidden to bear a grudge, by saying, for example I will lend you the tool
you need even though you refused me when I needed something. EL YAHVEH wants us
to purge the insult or misdeed from our hearts.
Lev 19:19 ‘Guard
My laws. Do not let your livestock mate with another kind. Do not sow your
field with mixed seed. And do not put a garment woven of two sorts of thread
upon you. - This
verse stress the point that we must guard EL YAHVEH laws, if this is so, how
can anyone says the laws are done away with.
This verse goes on to say do not let
our livestock cross bread, for example a horse and a donkey. We also know that
when these two animals cross bread it produces a mule, which is sterile.
One of the most vicious dogs there is
a pit bold; it is a cross between two other breeds of dogs. We are also
admonish not to sow mix seed in a field, example barley and wheat should not be
planted in the same field. We must not wear a garment made from two different
fabrics such as linen and wool.
The prohibitions not to crossbreed or
to wear mixtures of wool and linen are the quintessential, decrees, commands of
the King for which every believer should abide by. This speaks of our righteousness,
we cannot have wool which cause the flesh to produce sweat and linen which
cause the flesh to remain cool at all times.
EL YAHVEH created the world with
certain distinct species, and in His Wisdom decreed that these species remain
intact and undefiled among men. For man to take it upon himself to alter the
order of Creation suggest a lack of faith in Yah’s plan.
Moreover, a Heavenly force directs
each species on earth, so that the earthly species represent profound spiritual
forces. To tamper with them is to cause harm that the mind of man cannot
understand.
Is there any wonder why the two new
breed of dogs, the Pit bold and the Doberman both a product of cross breeding,
are well known as man killers.
Verse 20 – 22 illustrate shifchah
charufah. The designated maidservant. This unusual decree is unlike any other
commandment in several ways.
Lev 19:20 ‘And when
a man take a wife, a woman who is a female servant, designated to another man,
and who has not had the ransomed nor redeemed price paid for her, there should
be an inquiry. But they are not to be put to death, because she was not free.
– What this verse is saying, is if a man have a servant
girl, and she was promise to another man, if he take her for a wife, they did
not sin, even though she was promise to another man. The reason for this is
that she was still under the authority of her first master. However if the
second man had redeem her or paid the bride price for her, then both of them
would be given the death penalty.
Even though a promise was given to the
other man, that she could be redeem by him, the man is partially guilty.
Lev 19:21 ‘And he
shall bring his guilt offering to יהוה, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, a ram
as a guilt offering. – The man however,
must bring a guilt offering to the Pastor, the price of a ram.
Lev 19:22 ‘And the
priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before יהוה for his sin which he has done. And the
sin, which he has sinned, shall be forgiven him. -
On the day of atonment our High Priest makes an atonment for us after we
bring the price of the ram, and our sins will be forgiven us.
Verse 22 – 25 Orlah, the first three
years of a fruit tree. All fruits from the first three years of a newly planted
tree or its grafted shoot are forbidden for conceivable use, and those of
fourth year are holy and must be given as a offering.
The first fruits of a tree should be
used for the holy purpose of praising and thanksgiving to EL YAHVEH. Since the
first three years fruits are not yet mature enough to be worthy for that
purpose, the Torah ordains that none of the fruit may be used until the fourth
year.
Lev 19:23 ‘And
when you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then
you shall reckon their fruit as uncircumcised. For three years it is as
uncircumcised to you, it is not eaten. – From a spiritual
point of view when a person become saved the first year is when they start to
differentiate between right and wrong, the subsequent years have to do with
their spiritual development.
The illustration above has to do with
our spiritual development as related to the six days of creation. It is day
four that the light of the Menorah begins to shine. The first three years that
person has not yet produce the fruit of the spirit. They cannot be a light to
any other person, even though they might be producing some fruit.
|
Fourth day or fouth year
|
Lev 19:24 ‘And in
the fourth year all its fruit is set-apart – praises to יהוה. – The forth year
that person must be set apart, from the others. At this stage in their
spiritual; development, the Spirit of YAHVEH is developed and is producing
light, the middle lamp on the Menorah. The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding
is also producing light.
That is why on the fourth day of
Creation, EL YAHVEH created the three lights, the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars.
Lev 19:25 ‘And in
the fifth year you eat its fruit, so that it increases its yield to you. I am יהוה your Elohim. - On the fifth day of creation the
fruit tree were created, in our spiritual walk, The Spirit of
YAHVEH will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of
advice and power, This person is now ready for ministry work. Notice the five lights on the Menorah! This is when the fruit of the
spirit will yield its spiritual crop to the body.
Lev 19:26 ‘Do not eat meat
with the blood. Do not practice divination or magic. –
Again we are told that as believers we must not eat meat with the blood in it,
every time Christian have communion they are eating meat with blood in it. We
may not eat animal flesh if there is some life in it.
We as believer must not indulge in sorcery. Do not
base our decisions on superstitions, such as the belief that black cats
crossing our path or that walking under a ladder will cause bad luck.
Lev 19:27 ‘Do not round the
corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of your beard. - Rounding off refers to the removal of all
hair from the sideburns area. It is also forbidden to shave the entire beard.
This means the use of a razor, any instrument that both save also destroy.
Lev 19:28 ‘And do not make any
cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor put tattoo marks on you. I am יהוה. - It is an
ancient custom for people to cut their flesh in mourning for the dead. In
Deuteronomy 14:1, the Torah states that this is forbidden because, you are
children of יהוה implying that it is disgraceful to יהוה for
his children to inflict wounds on their bodies as signs of mourning.
Lev 19:29 ‘Do not profane your
daughter by making her a whore, so that the land does not whore, and the land
becomes filled with wickedness. – The redeem community must
make sure that their daughters do not, jump from man to man, date this one this
week and the next guy next week, until she decide which one to settle down
with. If a land keep changing government on a regular bases is a sign that the
land is in whoredom. It is also a sign that the land is full of wickedness.
Lev 19:30 ‘Guard My Sabbaths
and reverence My set-apart place. I am יהוה. – The
Torah speaks very frequently about both the Sabbath and Idolatry, because both
are reckoned as equal to all the commandments of the Torah. Idol worship is a
clear denial of יהוה . Sabbath
desecration, too, is a denial that יהוה
creates for six days and rested on the seventh, it is an eternal reminder of יהוה as the Creator.
Lev 19:31 ‘Do not turn to
mediums, and do not seek after spiritists to be defiled by them. I am יהוה your Elohim. -
These are magical practice that purports to foretell the future. The
punishment of the practitioner of these acts is keres; the penalty of those who
consult them is lashes.
I am יהוה
, be aware whom you are discarding in order to pursue knowledge of the future
by turning to the prophets of Ov and Yid’oni.
Lev 19:32 ‘Rise up before the
gray-headed. And you shall favor the face of an old man, and shall fear your
Elohim. I am יהוה. – This is not necessary talking
about an older person in age; it is more or less talking a bout a spiritually
mature person. Even though both and spiritually maturity should go hand in hand
like Abraham, Jacob, and Moses illustrate. Today not because a person is older
it does not mean that they have reach spiritual maturity. From a physical sense
their long life have expose them to more of life, which also produce certain
life experience, that help to create life wisdom. From a spiritual sense, when
one experience the seven days of creation, and have come into the fullness of
their spiritual life, like Yahushua (Jesus Christ) they will be wise even
though they might be still young in age.
In a physical sense we must rise when an elderly
person enter our surrounding as an act of honor to them.
Lev 19:33 ‘And when a stranger
sojourns with you in your land, do not oppress him. – A
proselyte is a stranger. It is forbidden to taunt a proselyte by reminding him
of his non-Hebrew status and to even suggest that this would make him unfit to
study Torah. By welcoming him with open arms and with love, we might be showing
him a dimension of יהוה love that
might draw him to study Torah. Who more than a Hebrew should know the hurt felt
by an unwanted stranger, while in Egypt .
Lev 19:34 ‘Let the stranger
who dwells among you be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him
as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Mitsrayim .
I am יהוה your Elohim. – Aside from the commandment to love
all Hebrew, proselytes included, there is a special commandment to love
proselytes. יהוה Himself, has a special love for
proselytes, it is not His will that any should perish.
Verse 35 – 36 illustrates the command pertaining
to Weights and measures. The Torah illustrates the great importance of proper
weights and measures with a powerful comparison. The passage begins by
exhorting against a perversion of justice, a commandment that is generally
directed towards judges, as well as the businessman in his shop or the farmer
in is field.
Lev 19:35 ‘Do no unrighteousness
in right ruling, in measurement of length, in weight, or in measuring liquids.
- Therefore the Torah likens a person doing business to a judge, and
someone who falsifies weight and measures is like a judge who perverts
judgments. We must not change any of the right ruling that the Torah priscribe.
Lev 19:36 ‘Have right scales,
right weights, a right ĕphah, and a right hin. I am יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim. – Our
Creator took us out of Egypt
on the condition that we would learn to obey His Commandments, this include
honesty in business and in life.
If we think that we can be dishonest and go
undetected, we need to think back to Egypt , where יהוה killed the Egyptians and bring out the
Children of Yisrael.
Lev 19:37 ‘And you shall guard
all My laws and all My right-rulings, and do them. I am יהוה.’ – As
part of the Nation of Yisrael, where יהוה is King, we are the citizen of that Kingdom
even though we are living on planet. We are children of two kingdoms, the kingdom of Heavens ,
and the Kingdom
of Satan .
We become good Citizen of whichever laws we choose
to follow. We are admonish by Torah and in particular this verse, to guard the
Laws for they are right ruling, for יהוה
is the King of that Kingdom.
Chapter 20
Torah does not decree a
physical punishment for a sin unless there is a negative commandment enjoining
us no to commit that sin. Chapter 18 to 19 contains a long list of negative
commandments, and this chapter primarily purposes is to give the punishment for
these sins.
Lev 20:1 And
יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, - Again, as true to form, the
King spoke to His messenger, Moses and gave him instructions. This is how the Kingdom of Heavens operates. Those in the Holy of
Holies speak to those in the Holy
Place who communicate it to those in the Outer Court .
Verse 2 – 5, the punishment is been given for
those who choose to serve Molech. Torah discusses at length the evil of the
various sin. Not only has the perpetrator sinned against יהוה he has profaned the sanctity of the Hebrew
people.
When Torah speaks of MY Sanctuary it is referring
as יהוה holy Nation or His holy people. The
mixture of Molech worship within that community is a degradation of that
Sanctuary.
Torah stresses that it is the nations
responsibility to execute the death penalty against the one who contaminate
that Sanctuary.
Lev 20:2 “Say to the children
of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Any man of the children of Yisra’ĕl, or of the strangers who
sojourn in Yisra’ĕl, who gives any of his offspring to Molek, shall certainly
be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. –
Torah used the phrase, ‘the people of the land.’ By using this unusual term to
identify the people, Torah is suggesting why everyone should have the
particular responsibility of executing the one who violate Torah. A father who
allows his own children to serve Molech has brought contamination to the land.
Lev 20:3 ‘And I, I shall set My face against
that man, and shall cut him off from the midst of his people, because he has
given of his offspring to Molek, so as to defile My set-apart place and to
profane My set-apart Name. – The punishment has two tiers. If the
transgressor was properly warned and witnessed, and beis din imposed the
death penalty, he gains atonement for his sins. If, however, he sinned intentionally,
but was not punished by the court, יהוה
imposes kares.
Lev 20:4 ‘And if the people of the land at
all hide their eyes from the man, as he gives any of his offspring to Molek,
and they do not kill him, - If anyone in the Kingdom
of Heavens see a man allowing his children to pursue after Molek, if they do
not speak up and take the required step to solve the contamination. The
following will apply.
Lev 20:5 then I shall
set My face against that man and against his clan, and shall cut him off – and
all who go whoring after him, even go whoring after Molek – from the midst of
their people. – People who turn a blind
eye when something is wrong are as guilty as the person who did the crime. He
and his family will also bear the responsibility; it is as if they were
shielding the sinner from punishment.
Lev 20:6 ‘And the being who turns to mediums, and to
spiritists, to go whoring after them, I shall set My face against that being
and cut him off from the midst of his people. – We must remember that Torah is for
the Kingdom of Heavens ,
not the Kingdom
of Satan . We have no
right to judge those who are outside the Kingdom of Heavens .
All of the laws been dealt with here are deals with one another. I am my
brother keeper; I am also responsible to keep the Kingdom of Heavens
from contamination, whenever I see it.
If we see any member of the Kingdom, seeking after
mediums, Palm readers, spiritists, witch doctors and fortunetellers, we are to
set our face against them, or יהוה
will set his face against us.
Lev 20:7 ‘And you shall set yourselves apart, and shall
be set-apart, for I am יהוה your Elohim, - The
word Holy and set apart has the same definition. If I am set apart to make
myself righteous for the Bride Groom, then it is incumbent of myself to
maintain that set apartness as long as I live.
יהוה will not tolerate any mixture of holiness
and unholy ness, He will not tolerate hot and cold mix together. It is this
mixture of light and darkness He despises, when He implement the first day of
Creation.
Lev 20:8 and you shall guard My laws and do them. I am יהוה, who sets you apart. – The whole object of Creation is to
create a set of people who would safe guard יהוה
commandments. That is the purpose of the Nation of Yisrael, they are the one
who have been chosen to fulfilled that most lofty of goals.
Lev 20:9 ‘For everyone who curses his father or his
mother shall certainly be put to death – he has cursed his father or his
mother, his blood is on him. – Anyone who curses his parents has
violated that sacred position, that righteousness that they are called too.
Those who practice cursing their parents is no longer consider apart of the
holy nation of Yisrael.
Lev 20:10 ‘And a man who
commits adultery with the wife of another man, who commits adultery with the
wife of his neighbor: the adulterer and the adulteress shall certainly be put
to death. - A man who commit
the act of Adultery, having sex with another man wife, have also violate the
holiness code. They should be put to death, or isolated from the Kingdom. The
sinful action is a result of a mindset, if for example the Man did not know
that she was married, and then he must pay the guilt offering for his sin. If
he knew that she had a husband, then he must be cut off, for it is the mindset
that he has that causes him to participate in this sinful act.
Lev 20:11 ‘And a man who lies
with the wife of his father has uncovered the nakedness of his father, both of
them shall certainly be put to death, their blood is upon them. –
Every Kingdom has a constitution by which everyone good citizen must live by,
the Torah is such a document. That is why studying Torah in the Spirit of
Understanding is so important. That we may know what is right and what is
wrong. If we know what is right and we do not do it, then the guilt of
disobedience is upon us. If we know what is wrong and we still choose to do it
then we must still bear the consequence of that sin. The price for deliberate
sin is not given in Torah, only for sins that are not known.
Sins that are not known are usually because of
ignorance to Torah, or because we have not taught the
correct definition, or the correct principle.
Lev 20:12 ‘And a man who lies
with his daughter-in-law: both of them shall certainly be put to death, they
have made confusion; their blood is upon them. – A
Redeem man who is apart of the Kingdom, who deliberately lies with his
daughter-in-law, the punishment is spiritual death, because he knew he should
not have done it.
Lev 20:13 ‘And a man who lies
with a male as he lies with a woman: both of them have done an abomination,
they shall certainly be put to death, their blood is upon them. – Any
man who is apart of the Kingdom of Heavens who choose to perform Homosexual
act, the penalty is spiritual death.
Lev 20:14 ‘And a
man who marries a woman and her mother: it is wickedness, they are burned with
fire, both he and they, that there be no wickedness in your midst. – Any man of the Nation of Yisrael, who has both a mother and daughter as
wife, will also experience spiritual death. However, if they were in the Land of Yisrael , the physical death penalty
would be required.
Lev 20:15 ‘And a
man who has intercourse with a beast: he shall certainly be put to death, and
the beast you kill. – Any man in the kingdom of Heavens who had intercourse with an
animal shall be cut off from the community. The animal must be killed.
Lev 20:16 ‘And a
woman who approaches any beast and mates with it: you shall kill the woman and
the beast, they shall certainly be put to death, their blood is upon them. – Any woman from the Nation of Yisrael who has intercourse or take an
animal as her husband, she shall die spiritually, and the animal shall be
killed.
Lev 20:17 ‘And a
man who takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and
sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness: it is wickedness, and they shall
be cut off before the eyes of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s
nakedness, he bears his crookedness. – The restriction
of sexual act, it they are violated, spiritual death will occur.
Lev 20:18 ‘And a man who lies
with a woman during her sickness and uncovers her nakedness: he has laid bare
her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood, both of them shall be
cut off from the midst of their people. - Spiritual death also for a man and a woman
who had sex during a woman monthly cycle.
Lev 20:19 ‘And do not uncover
the nakedness of your mother’s sister nor of your father’s sister, for that is
laying bare one’s own flesh, they bear their crookedness. –
Spiritual death for that person for they knowingly violate a Torah Principle.
Lev 20:20 ‘And a man who lies
with his uncle’s wife: he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness, they bear their
sin, they die childless. -
Spiritual death for that person for they knowingly violate this Torah
Principle.
Lev 20:21 ‘And a man who takes
his brother’s wife: it is uncleanness, he has uncovered his brother’s
nakedness, they are childless. - Spiritual death for that person for
they knowingly violate this Torah Principle, unless the brother died childless,
the brother who is alive may take the surviving wife and create children for is
childless brother.
Verse 22 – 24 speaks of the Land and immorality.
After, having given the penalties for the forbidden relationships that were
prohibited in Chapter 18, Torah repeats the message of 18:26 – 30, that the
sanctity of the Kingdom cannot tolerate immorality.
Therefore, the privilege of citizen in the land is
conditioned upon the people maintaining a high level of sanctify.
Lev 20:22 ‘And you shall guard all My laws and all My right-rulings,
and do them, so that the land where I am bringing you to dwell does not vomit
you out. - How many times
have we read this warning to guard the Laws of Torah for they are right
rulings? Yet some foolishly says that the laws were nail to the Cross. The kingdom of Heavens vomit
Lev 20:23 ‘And do not walk in
the laws of the nation which I am driving out before you, for they do all
these, and therefore I loathed them. – However, those who say that
the law was nail to the cross, turn around and walk in the laws of the kingdom of Satan . These verses also have a future
prophetical warning. When we get to the kingdom of Heavens ,
we must make sure we do not practice the same principles that Lucifer and his
angel practice when they were there, who will be cast out to make way for us.
Lev 20:24 ‘But I say to you,
“You are going to possess their land, and I Myself give it to you to possess
it, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am יהוה your Elohim, who has separated you from the peoples. – We
Know that El Yahushua has replace Lucifer as the Chief Cherub in Heavens, and
we who have reach maturity will also replace the other one third angels who had
follow Lucifer. One of the reason why the Kingdom have not yet been restored,
it is because those of us who have heard the word did not profit from it as Heb 4:1 EL YAHVEH'S promise that we may enter his place of rest
still stands. Some of you are afraid, think you won't enter his place of rest.
2 We have heard the same Good News that
your ancestors heard. But the message didn't help those who heard it in the
past, because they didn't believe. 3 We
who believe will entering that place of rest. As יהוה said, "So I angrily took a solemn oath that those who
disobey they would never enter my place of rest." יהוה said this even though he had given us His principles when he
created the world. That is why I say that it is our fault why the Kingdom of Heavens
has not yet been restore.
Lev 20:25 ‘And you shall make
a distinction between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean birds and
clean. And do not make yourselves abominable by beast or by bird, or whatever
creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. - As we learn to build our Menorah, the Holy
Spirit will help us to discern, to make a distinction between clean and the
unclean religion (animals), between the clean and the unclean spirit (birds).
We will not allow our selves to be contaminated by them. This is why we are
given the Torah as the constitution of those who are in the Kingdom of Heavens .
Lev 20:26 ‘And you shall be
set-apart to Me, for I יהוה am set-apart,
and have separated you from the peoples to be Mine. – We
are set apart to יהוה to be prepared
as the bride for His Son El Yahushua “Jesus Christ.” There will be a time when
El Yahushua will return for the wise virgin, the wise virgins are those who
have kept the commandment and have made her garment white in the Blood of the
Lamb.
Lev 20:27 ‘And a man or a
woman in whom there is a medium, or who are spiritists, shall certainly be put
to death, they are to stone them with stones. Their blood is upon them. –
This chapter ends with this sin, because it symbolizes the difference between
Yisrael and the other nations. Inside of everyone in the Kingdom of Heavens ,
it the Menorah, the Seven of יהוה.
Isa
11:2 The Spirit of YAHVEH
will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of advice
and power, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of YAHVEH. Any other spirits are the
spirits of mediums.

Ahmos “Amos” 9:7 -

Amos 9:7Are ye not as
children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Yisrael? saith EL YAHVEH.
Have not I brought up Yisrael out of the land of Egypt ?
and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? - How justly
EL YAHVEH passes sentence upon the people of Yisrael. He does not destroy them
by an act of sovereignty, but by an act of righteousness; for it is a sinful
kingdom, and the eyes of YAHVEH are upon it, discovering it to be
so; He sees the great sinfulness of it, and therefore he will destroy it
from off the face of the earth.
When those kingdoms
that in name and profession to be holy kingdoms, a kingdoms of priests, as
Yisrael was. If it become a sinful kingdoms, no other can be expected than that
they should be cut off and abandoned. Let sinful kingdoms, and sinful families,
and sinful persons, see the eyes of YAHVEH upon them, observing all their
wickedness, and reserving the notice of it for the day of reckoning and
recompence.
Of the relation
wherein he stood to it: Are you not as children of Ethiopians unto me, O
children of Yisrael? A sad change! Children of Yisrael become as children
of the Ethiopians!
They were so in
themselves; that was their sin. It is a thing to be greatly lamented that the
children of Yisrael often become as children of the Ethiopians; this children
of godly parents degenerate, and become the reverse of those that went before
them. Those that were well-educated, and trained up in the knowledge and fear
of EL YAHVEH, and set out well, and promised fair, throw off their profession
and become as bad as the worst. How has the gold become dim!
In YAH’s account, He
valued them no more, though they were children of Yisrael, than if they had
been children of the Ethiopians, and that was their punishment. We read
of one in Ps. 7 that was Cush (an Ethiopian, as some understand
it) and yet a Benjamite. Those that by birth and profession are children of
Yisrael, if they degenerate, and become wicked and vile, they are to EL YAHVEH
no more than children of the Ethiopians.
This is an intimation of the rejection of the
unbelieving Jews in the days of the Messiyah; because they embraced not the
doctrine of Messiyah, the kingdom of YAHVEH was taken from them, they were
unchurched, and cast out of covenant, became as children of the Ethiopians, and
are so to this day. And it is true of those that are called Christians, but do
no live up to their name and profession, that rest in the form of piety, but
live under the power of reigning iniquity, that they are to YAHVEH as children
of the Ethiopians; He rejects them, and their services.
Amos 9:8Behold, the
eyes of EL YAHVEH are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off
the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of
Jacob, saith YAHVEH. - See how light He
makes of the favours He had conferred upon them; they thought YAHVEH would not,
He could not, cast them off, and put them upon a level with other nations,
because He had done that for them which he had not done for other nations,
whereby they thought he was bound to them, so as never to leave them.
"No,’’ says he, "The favours shown to you are not so distinguishing
as you think they are: Have I not brought up Yisrael out of the land of Egypt ?’’ It is true I have; but I
have also brought the Philistines from Caphtor, or Cappadocia,
where they were natives, or captives, or both; they are called the remnant
of the country of Caphtor (Jer. 47:4), and the Philistim are joined with
the Caphtorim, Gen. 10:14.
In like manner the
Syrians were brought up from Kir when they had been carried away thither, 2 Ki.
16:9. If YAH’s Yisrael lose the peculiarity of their holiness, they lose the
peculiarity of their privileges; and what was designed as a favour of special
grace shall be set in another light, shall have its property altered, and shall
become an act of common providence; if professors liken themselves to
the world, YAHVEH will level them with the world. And, if we live not up to the
obligation of YAH’s mercies, we forfeit the honor and comfort of them.
Amos 9:9For, lo, I will
command, and I will sift the house of Yisrael among all nations, like as corn
is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. – The
house of Yisrael shall be sifted as corn is sifted; they shall be
greatly hurried, and shaken, and tossed, but still in the hands of YAHVEH, in
both his hands, as the sieve in the hands of him that sifts: I will sift the
house of Yisrael among all nations. Wherever they are shaken and scattered,
YAHVEH will have his eye upon them, and will take care to separate between the
corn and chaff, which was the thing he designed in sifting them.
The righteous ones
among them, that are as the solid wheat, shall none of them perish; they shall
be delivered either from or through the common calamities of the kingdom; not
the least grain shall fall on the earth, so as to be lost and forgotten—not
the least stone (so the word is), for the good corn is weighty as a
stone in comparison with that which we call light corn. Note, Whatever
shakings there may be in the world, YAHVEH does and will effectually provide
that none who are truly his shall be truly miserable.
Amos
9:10All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,
which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. - The wicked
ones among them who are hardened in their sins shall all of them perish. See
what a height of impiety they have come to: They say, The evil shall not
overtake nor prevent us. They think they are innocent, and do not deserve
punishment, or that the profession they make of relation to YAHVEH will be
their exemption and security from punishment, or that they shall be able to
make their part good against the judgments of YAHVEH, that they shall flee so
swiftly from them that they shall not overtake them, or guard so carefully
against them that they shall not prevent or surprise them.
Hope of impunity is
the deceitful refuge of the impenitent. But see what it will come to at last: All
the sinners that thus flatter themselves, and affront YAHVEH, shall die
by the sword, the sword of war, which to them shall be the sword of divine
vengeance; yea, though they be the sinners of my people, for their
profession shall not be their protection. Evil is often nearest those that put
it at the greatest distance from them.
Amos 9:11In that day
will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the
breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the
days of old: - To him to whom all the prophets bear witness
this prophet, here in the close of this book, bears his testimony, and speaks
of that day, those days that shall come, in which EL YAHVEH will do
great things for His people, by the setting up of the kingdom of the Messiyah,
for the rejecting of which the rejection of the Jews was foretold in the
foregoing verses. The promise here is said to agree to the planting of the
restoration church, and in that to be fulfilled, Acts 15:15–17. It is promised,
That in the Messiyah
the kingdom of David shall be restored; the tabernacle
of David it is called, that is, his house and family, which, though great
and fixed, yet, in comparison with the kingdom of heaven, was mean and movable
as a tabernacle.
The church restored,
in its present state, dwelling as in shepherds’ tents to feed, as in soldiers’
tents to fight, is the tabernacle of David. YAH’s tabernacle is called
the tabernacle of David, because David desired and chose to dwell in YAH’s
tabernacle for ever, Ps. 61:4.
These tabernacles
had fallen an gone to decay, the royal family was so impoverished, its power
abridged, its honor stained, and laid in the dust; for many of that race
degenerated, and in the captivity it lost the imperial dignity. Sore breaches
were made upon it, and at length it was laid in ruins. So it was with the
church of the Jews; in the latter days of it its glory departed; it was like a
tabernacle broken down and brought to ruin, in respect both of purity and of
prosperity.
In Yahushua our
Messiyah these tabernacles were raised and rebuilt. In him YAH’s covenant with
David had its accomplishment; and the glory of that house, which was not only
sullied, but quite sunk, was revived again; the breaches of it were closed
and its ruins raised up, as in the days of old; nay, the spiritual glory
of the family of Messiyah far exceeded the temporal glory of the family of
David when it was at its height.
In him also YAH’s
covenant with Yisrael had its accomplishment, and in the gospel-church the
tabernacle of YAHVEH was set up among men again, and raised up out of the ruins
of the Jewish state. This is quoted in the first council at Yerushalayim as
referring to the calling in of the Gentiles and YAH’s taking out of them a
people for his name. While the world
stands YAHVEH will have a church in it, and, if it be fallen down in one place
and among one people, it shall be raised up elsewhere.
Amos 9:12That they may
possess the remnant of Edom ,
and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the YAHVEH that
doeth this. - That kingdom shall be
enlarged, and the territories of it shall extend far, by the accession of many
countries to it, that the house of David may possess the remnant of Edom,
and of all the heathen, that is, that Messiyah may have them given him for
his inheritance, even the uttermost parts of the earth for his
possession, Ps. ii. 8.
Those that had been
strangers and enemies shall become willing faithful subjects to the Son of
David, shall be added to the church, or those of them that are called
by my name, saith EL YAHVEH, that is, that belong to the election of grace
and are ordained to eternal life (Acts 13:48), for it is true of the Gentiles
as well as of the Hebrew that the election hath obtained and the rest
were blinded, Rom. 11:7.
Messiyah died to
gather together in one the children of YAHVEH that were scattered abroad,
here said to be those that were called by His name. The promise is to
all that are afar off, even as many of them as the YAHVEH our
EL shall call, Acts 2:39. St. James expounds this as a promise that the
resideu of men should seek after YAHVEH, even all the Gentiles upon whom my
name is called. But may the promise be depended upon? Yes, YAHVEH says
this, who does this, who can do it, who has determined to do it, the power of
whose grace is engaged for the doing of it, and with whom saying and doing are
not two things, as they are with us.
Amos 9:13Behold, the
days come, saith the YAHVEH, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and
the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet
wine, and all the hills shall melt. - That in the kingdom of the Messiyah there shall be
great plenty, an abundance of all good things that the country produces: The
ploughman shall overtake the reaper, that is, there shall be such a
plentiful harvest every year, so much corn to be gathered in, that it shall
last all summer, even till autumn, when it is time to begin to plough again;
and in like manner the vintage shall continue till seed-time, and there shall
be such abundance of grapes that even the mountains shall drop new wine
into the vessels of the grape-gatherers, and the hills that were dry and barren
shall be moistened and shall melt with the fatness or mellowness
(as we call it) of the soil. Compare this with Joel 2:24, and 3:18.
This must certainly
be understood of the abundance of spiritual blessings in heavenly things, which
all those are, and shall be, blessed with, who are in sincerity added to
Messiyah and His church; they shall be abundantly replenished with the goodness
of YAH’s house, with the graces and comforts of His Spirit; they shall have
bread, the bread of life, to strengthen their hearts, and the wine of
divine consolations to make them glad-meat indeed and drink indeed,
all the benefit that comes to the souls of men from the word and Spirit of YAHVEH.
These had been long
confined to the vineyard of the Jewish church; divine revelation, and the power
that attended it, were to be found only within that enclosure; but in
gospel-times the mountains and hills of the Gentile world shall be enriched
with these privileges by the gospel of Messiyah preached, and professed, and
received in the power of it. When great multitudes were converted to the faith
of Messiyah, and nations were born at once, when the preachers of the gospel were
always caused to triumph in the success of their preaching, then the ploughman
overtook the reaper; and when, the Gentile churches were enriched in all
utterance, and in all knowledge, and all manner of spiritual gifts
(1 Co. 1:5), then the mountains dropped sweet wine.
Amos 9:14And I will
bring again the captivity of my people of Yisrael, and they shall build the
waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the
wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. - That the
kingdom of the Messiyah shall be as prosporious people; as the country shall be
replenished, so shall the cities be.
Those that were
carried captives shall be brought back out of their captivity; their enemies
shall not be able to detain them in the land of their captivity, nor shall they
themselves incline to settle in it, but the remnant shall return, and shall build
again the waste cities and inhabit them, shall form themselves into Shabbat
keeping assembly and set up pure doctrine, worship, and discipline among them,
according to the gospel, by which Messiyah’s cities are incorporated; and they
shall enjoy the benefit and comfort thereof; they shall plant vineyards,
and make gardens.
Though the mountains
and hills drop wine, and the privileges of the gospel-church are laid in
common, yet they shall enclose for themselves, not to monopolize these
privileges, to the exclusion of others, but to appropriate and improve these
privileges, in communion with others, and they shall drink the wine, and
eat the fruit, of their own vineyards and gardens; for those that
take pains in this pure religion, as men
must do about their vineyards and gardens, shall have both the pleasure and
profit of it. The bringing again of the captivity of YAH’s
Yisrael, which is here promised.
Amos 9:15And I will
plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their
land which I have given them, saith the EL YAHVEH. - That the kingdom of the Messiyah shall take such
deep rooting in the world as never to be rooted out of it: I will plant them
upon their land. YAH’s spiritual Yisrael shall be planted by the Messiyah
who sits at the Right Hand of YAHVEH Himself upon the land assigned them, and they
shall no more be pulled up out of it, as the old Jewish church was.
The gates of hell,
neither with their temptations nor with their terrors, shall prevail against
it. Two things secure the perpetuity of the Redeem people:
YAHVEH’s grants to
it: It is the land which I have given them; and YAHVEH will confirm and
maintain his own grants. The part he has given to his people is that good part
which shall never be taken from them; He will not revoke His promise, and all
the powers of earth and hell shall not invalidate it.
Its interest in him:
He is YAHVEH thy Elohim, who has said it, and will make it good, thine,
O Yisrael! who shall reign for ever as thine unto all
generations. And because He lives the Yisrael shall live also.

Act15:1 - 21
Act15:1And
certain men which came down from Judaea taught
the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye
cannot be saved. – Circumsision has
nothing to do with been saved. One must be save before one get circumsise.
Circumsision is a result of been save. This is just some of the dogma that was
creaping into the church of that day. It is something that we must guard
against.
Act15:2When
therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them,
they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up
to Yerushalayim unto the apostles and elders about this question. - Those who
are spiritually mature must set those who are inmature strate. Those who are
inmature will always want to force certain action upon others. A mature
bveliever will allow a person to develop at their own pace. When an individual
is convince by the Holy Spirit to circumsise they should do it, not because
some religious zelot say they should.
Act15:3And
being brought on their way by the Messiyanic Assembly, they passed through
Phenice and Samaria ,
declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all
the brethren. - Any where a mature beliver travel they will
bring great joy to those who listen to them. While Religious people bring
condemnation.
Act15:4And
when they were come to Yerushalayim, they were received by the Assembly, and of
the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that YAHVEH had done with
them. -
A mature believer will always talk about their spiritual journey. The
thing they have experience inorder to reach spiritual maturity. All of life
experience is to bring us to that place where we become tha Ark of the
Covenant. In this verse Paul was a pot of manna to those who were listening to
him.
We must always
listen to those who have travel the road to maturity succesfully, with great
eagerness, so we migh be encourage as we travel our own road.
Act15:5 But there rose up
certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was
needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. – There
is always some religious people in the body who are nothing more than an empty
bell. They are the loudest, they always want to tell others what they must do.
But ask them which day of creation they are in, and they will not be able to
tell you.
Circumcision is a
natural part of our spiritual growth, so is keeping the Law. We cannot for
people to do anything. Remember what scripture says if you love me keep my
commandments. The commandments are no longer “thou shall” it is now “If you love me” keep my
commandments. The New Covenant is base on love, not obedience, Some people
might keep the commandments, if they do not love Messiyah, it is useless.
Act15:6And
the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. – As the Elohim came together to Create the Eearth,
the Apostle came together to consider the issue at hand. We must be one in the
Spirit.
Act15: 7And
when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and
brethren, ye know how that a good while ago YAHVEH made choice among us, that
the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. - Peter in
this verse is outlining a major aspect of the New Covenant. It is simply that
the Gentiles should hear the Besorah “the good news” that they too may believe.
The old covenant was made only to the Hebrew people.
Today who so ever
will may come. Today we have Yisraelites who are Chinese, Indians, Russian,
Spanish, you name it. Rev 5: 6And I beheld, and,
lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the
elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes,
which are the seven Spirits of YAHVEH sent forth into all the earth.
Act15:8And
YAHVEH, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy
Spirit “Set Aoart Spirit”, even as He did unto us; - It is not us that determine
what another believer do, we all have different disposition and must carry our
own Cross until our journey ends, Religious institution hold on to one
spiritual experience on our spiritual journey and stay there all of their
lives. Mathew 17:4 Then
answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if
thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for
Moses, and one for Elias. According to
Peter it does not get any better than this. Let us make our Tabernacle right
here, let us not go any further, let us stay right here forever. Where one
build their tabernacle is where one plan and settling down.
It is the Holy
Spirit that determine when it is time for a believer to move to their next
spiritual experience. The Set Apart Spirit wants to do to us as He did to
Peter. Istitution that are not led by the Set Apart Spirit will always try and
dictate our behavior.
Act15:9
And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by
faith. – When we as believer believe by
faith, the Set Apart Spirit purified our heart according to our faith. If we do
not believe in the Sabbath, we will never enter into YAHVEH Rest. If we do not
keep Passover in Faith, we will never move from one day of creation to the
next. Faith determine the level of revelation we receive. The Holy Spirit will
never force anything on us if we do not first believe in the Written Word. That
was why Yahushua spoke to His disciples in parables.
Act15:10
Now therefore why tempt ye YAHVEH, to put a yoke upon the neck of the
disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? - Why
obstruct the work of the Holy Spirit by place a yoke of spiritual bondage
around a person spiritual life. If we hold fast that circumcision is what save
us, we will never be given any other revelation. If we believe that the law was
done away with we will never be given any other knowledge.
The kaw will never
save us. The law define perfection. The law require perfection. Only one man
who ever lived, kept the law perfect. Every other man, need Grace to help them
keep the law.
We may break the law
out of our weakness or out of ignorance. Grace is given to us, much like a
teacher giving a student a make up test after they have fail the last one.
The objective of
Grace is to give us more time to study for the the second test that what was
already set for us. When we fail a test, it tells us what our weakness are.
When we sin, it also tells us what our spiritual weakness is. It is for us to
go and strenghten that weakness so that when the evilone come at us in that
area he will find us strong in that area.
Act15:11But we believe that through the grace of YAHVEH Yahushua Messiyaht
we shall be saved, even as they. - The law require perfection. It is only
through Messiyah we can be given a second chance at perfection. If we do not
overcome our weaknesses we cannot sit on the Throne with Messiyah. Rev 3:
21To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with
me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his
throne.
Act15:12Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas
and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders YAHVEH had wrought among the
Gentiles by them. – This is not
boasting by any means. It is fulfilling the great commision. It is preparing
Mature believer for the Kingdom, there can be no greater job.
Act15:13And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and
brethren, hearken unto me: - Peter’s speech in this synod. He did not in
the least pretend to any primacy or headship in this synod. He was not master
of this assembly, nor so much as chairman or moderator, on this occasion;
for we do not find that either he spoke first, to open the synod (there
having been much disputing before he rose up), nor that he spoke
last, to sum up the cause and collect the suffrages; but he was a faithful, prudent
zealous member of this assembly, and offered that which was very much to the
purpose, and which would come better from him than from another, because he had
himself been the first that preached the gospel to the Gentiles. There had
been much disputing, pro and con, upon this question, and liberty of speech
allowed, as ought to be in such cases; those of the sect of the Pharisees were
some of them present, and allowed to say what they could in defence of those of
their opinion at Antioch, which probably was answered by some of the elders;
such questions ought to be fairly disputed before they are decided. When both
sides had been heard, Peter rose up, and addressed himself to the
assembly, Men and brethren, as did James afterwards.
Act15:14 Simeon hath
declared how YAHVEH at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a
people for His name. - Here in this verse the purpose of sending the
Good News to the Gentiles, thay YAHVEH may take out a people who would obey
Him.
The speech which
James made to the synod. He did not interrupt Paul and Barnabas, though, it is
likely, he had heard their narrative before, but let them go on with it, for
the edification of the company, and that they might have it from the first hand;
but, after they had held their peace, then James stood up. You may
all prophesy one by one, 1 Co. 14:31. YAHVEH
is the EL of order. He let Paul and Barnabas say what they had to say, and then
he made the application of it. The hearing of variety of ministers may be of
use when one truth does not drive out, but clench, another.
He addresses himself
respectfully to those present: "Men and brethren, hearken unto me.
You are men, and therefore, it is to be hoped, will hear reason; you are my
brethren, and therefore will hear me with candour. We are all brethren, and
equally concerned in this cause that nothing be done to the dishonor of
Messiyah and the uneasiness of Messiyanic.’’
He refers to what
Peter had said concerning the conversion of the Gentiles: "Simeon’’
(that is, Simon Peter) "hath declared, and opened the matter to
you, how YAHVEH at the first did visit the Gentiles, in Cornelius and
his friends, who were the first-fruits of the Gentiles, when the gospel began
first to spread, presently the Gentiles were invited to come and take the
benefit of it;’’ and James observes here,
(1.) That the grace
of YAHVEH was the origin of it; it was YAHVEH that visited the Gentiles;
and it was a kind visit. Had they been left to themselves, they would never
have visited him, but the acquaintance began on his part; he not only visited
and redeemed his people, but visited and redeemed those that were not a
people.
(2.) that the glory
of YAHVEH was the end of it: it was to take out of them a people for his
name, who should glorify him, and in whom he would be glorified. As of old
he took the Jews, so now the Gentiles, to be to him for a name, and for a
praise, and for a glory, Jer. 13:11. Let all the people of YAHVEH remember
that therefore they are thus dignified in YAHVEH, that YAHVEH may be glorified
in them.
Act15:15 And to this agree
the words of the prophets; as it is written,
- The word of the Prophets is an
restoration ministry. Meaning that the restoration of the Kingdom of Yisrael .
We see in the next verse the term “return and build again” a clear definition
of the Prophetic ministry.
He confirms this
with a quotation out of the Torah: he could not prove the calling of the
Gentiles by a vision, as Peter could, nor by miracles wrought by his hand, as
Paul and Barnabas could, but he would prove that it was foretold in the Torah,
and therefore it must be fulfilled. To this agree the words of the prophets;
most of the Torah prophets spoke more or less of the calling in of the
Gentiles, even Moses himself, Rom. 10:19. It was the
Act15:16 After
this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is
fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: - The Prophetic ministry is to get the people to
return to the old ways establish from the foundation of the world. We have been
told in Scripture that our Creator do not change. His road to perfect is the
same yesterday, today and Tomarrow. The anology spoken of here also refers to
the restoration of the Kingdom of heavens. In every restoration movement
dedicated people are require to reestablish the City of David .
Act15:17 That the resideu of men
might seek after YAHVEH, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called,
saith YAHVEH, who doeth all these things. –
Those people who will be apart of the restoration movement will be people who
are called gy YAHVEHs name. What thn is His name. It is not God! His name is YAHVEH!
When we say halleluyah , we are saying praise to Yah.
This new covenant
people will used the true name of the King of Kinns whih is EL YAHVEH, meaning
the Elohim “god” whose name is YAHVEH.
Act15:18 Known unto YAHVEH
are all his works from the beginning of the world. – The constitution of the Kingdom of the Heavens was establish from the
foundation of the World. Everything in that Kingdom must be establish according
to the constitution. There cannot be two sets of criteria. The same criteria
for Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses is the same criteria,
If our Creater
change the criteria for perfection, He cannot be a just Elohim. His Kingdom
does not have two set of citizen, one under the law and one under grace. When
Yahushua says that He and the Father are one, He was ilucidating a kingdom
principle. Everyone who enter the Kingdom must meet the same criteria. How far
we advance in the Kingdom
of Heavens will depend on
our obedience to the Constitution of the Kingdom of the Heavens.
Act15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among
the Gentiles are turned to YAHVEH:
- The objective of the restoration ministry
is not to seek after those who are or those who have already turn to Messiyah from amoung the Gentiles. It
is those who have not yet made a choice, When we as believers understand that
every human on planet earth is a god and was created for one purpose, then our
ministry will change. Psalm 82:5 They do not know, nor do
they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth
are unstable. 6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children
of the Most High. 7 But you shall die like men, And fall like one of
the princes.” If we do not preach the
Gospet to the gentiles they shall die like men. However when we preach the good
news to them and they accept it they will live like gods.
Act15:20 But that we write unto
them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and
from things strangled, and from blood. –
they are things that pollute us spiritually, Idol worship, which is man made
gods, fornication which is discribe in Leviticus 18, and unclean meat. How many
of us still does these things today, and say that it is nail to the Cross.
From pollutions
of idols, and from fornication,
which are two bad things, and always to be abstained from; but writing to them
particularly and expressly to abstain from them (because in these things the
Jews were jealous of the Gentile converts, lest they should transgress) would
very much gratify the Jews; not that the apostles, both in preaching and
writing to the Gentiles that embraced Messiyah, were careful to warn against,
First, Pollutions
of idols, that they should have no
manner of fellowship with idolaters in their idolatrous worships.
Secondly,
Fornication, and all manner of uncleanness. How large, how pressing, is Paul in his cautions against this sin! 1 Co. 6:9–15; Eph. 5:3, etc. But the Jews, who were willing
to think the worst of those they did not like, suggested that these were things
in which the Gentiles, even after conversion, allowed themselves, and the
apostle of the Gentiles connived at it. Now, to obviate this suggestion, and to
leave no room for this calumny, James advises that, besides the private
admonitions which were given them by their ministers, they should be publicly
warned to abstain from pollutions of idols and from fornication, that they
should be very circumspect, and should avoid all appearances of these two
evils, which would be in so particular a manner offensive to the Jews.
From things
strangled, and from blood, which, as the other two, as those were, had been forbidden by the
precepts of Noah (Gen. 9:4.), before the giving of the law of Moses; and
the Jews had a great dislike; and therefore, to avoid giving offence, let the
Gentile converts themselves of their liberty herein, 1 Co. 8:9, 13. Therefore
we must become all things to all men.
Act15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being
read in the synagogues every sabbath day. – This verse is discribing that the law was taught in the Synagogues
every Sabbath, not on Sundays. Yet some people find it necessary to create a
man made idol called Sunday worship.
He gives a reason
for his advice, that great respect ought to be shown to the Jews for they have
been so long accustomed to the solemn injunctions of the law that they must be
borne with, if they cannot presently come off from them: For Moses hath of
old those that preach him in every city, his writings being read in the
synagogues every sabbath day. "You cannot blame them if they have a
great veneration for the law of Moses; for besides that they are very sure YAHVEH
spoke to Moses,’’
(1.) "Moses is
continually preached to them, and they are called upon to remember the law
of Moses,’’ Mal. 4:4. Even that word of YAHVEH which is written to us
should also be preached: those that have the scriptures have still need of
ministers to help them to understand and apply the scriptures.
(2.) "His
writings are read in a solemn religious manner, in their synagogues, and
on the sabbath day, in the place and at the time of their meetings for
the worship of YAHVEH; so that from their childhood they have been trained up
in a regard to the law; the observance of it is a part of the commandments.’’
(3.) "This has
been done of old time; they have received from their fathers an honor
for Moses; they have antiquity for it.’’
(4.) "This had
been done in every city, wherever there we believers. As it is human
custom we are still eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
therefore we must not think it strange if people be wedded to customs which
they have had transmitted to them from their fathers, and which they have been
educated in an opinion of as sacred; and therefore allowances must be made in
such cases, and not rigour used.
