Bereishis/Genesis
Genesis 1:1 – 6::8
Please pray this
Prayer before reading
Prayer
In the name of Yahushua
Our Messiyah,
I pray for the Spirit of Understanding
The Spirit of Knowledge and
The Spirit of Wisdom
As I read through this Parasha
That the Truth of Torah may
Come forth. Amen
The
word Torah can have different meaning, depending on the context in which it is
used. Torah come from the Hebrew word Yaroh,
which means “teaching or instructions.”
Although
Torah is often mistranslated as “Law,”
from the Greek word Nomos, this is incorrect and gives one the impression that
the Torah is a legal document or set of laws, which it is not. Therefore, the
term legalish is place against anyone who keep the law.
In
the general sense, Torah refers to the whole body, both the Written and the Oral
Torah. The Written Torah can be seen, philosophically, as the Constitution of
the Heavenly Kingdom . It is the oweners manual for
the human soul which desire to elevate itself spiritually.
The
Oral Torah also known as the teachings of Kabbalah, explains and elaborates
upon the Written Torah; similar to the method Messiyah Yahushua uses to teaches
is Disciples called Parables. The Torah is a direct communication from the
CREATOR, to Moses and the Prophets, and it imparts to HIS Children: what to do
and what not to do, and how righteous men in history walk according to its
rules and regulations.
Messiyanic
Judaism teaches that the highest Commandments “Mitzvah” is to study the
Scripture. It is through the study of Torah, the Scripture, we are accorded an understanding
of the wisdom and purpose of the 613 Mitzvot as well as the purpose for our
individual lives.
Hebrew
tradition expresses the belief that the ultimate purpose of Torah is to provide
humanity with spiritual sustenance, to draw humanity back to spiritual fellowship
with the CREATOR. As every country has a constitution, the Torah is the
Constitution of the Heavenly
Kingdom , and every good
citizen in determine by how well they adhere to its commandments, Precepts,
Judgements, laws, statues and Right Rulings.
In
common usage the Torah refers specifically to the Five Books written by Moses:
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number, and Deuteronomy. In another common usage,
Torah refers, generally to one’s spiritual perspective or opinion, as in the
expression “Tell me your Torah,” which means “What is your spiritual
perspective on the subject.”
The
Hebrew culture teaches that the Torah is the hand of the CREATOR extends,
reaching across the vast gap off space that seperates us from HIM. Kabblah view
the Written Torah as a composition of letters that are nothing less than
configuration of the Divine Light, the Essence of the CREATOR, the Supernal
Wisdom of YAHWEH, which encompasses and comprise all of Creation.
Therefore,
the Torah is seen as the method by which humanity can get to know the CREATOR,
by repairing the gap between our own limited individual consciousness and the
Holy Spirit “The CREATOR Consciousness.”
We
begin a new cycle of Torah study after every Succot, with the realization that
the Torah is not just a history book, but that it is the reason for the
creation of humans in the grand scheme of things in El “יהוה” YAHVEH’s Kingdom.
It
usually begins with the first Parasha called Beresheet, which means “in the beginning” it is the Torah
portion read during, the first Shabbat of the Torah reading cycle, a very
important day. The Zohar tells us
that each of the seven days of Creation referred to by a number: second day,
third day, fourth day, fifth day, sixth day. The Torah never caledl the first
day yum rishon, or the first day, as we migh expect, but rather yom echad
“one day.”
This
proclaim that one day, a continuous progressive tense, when we decide to start
our six day of creation, the Light of the Creation will be revealed to us. One day and I hope it is today for all
sinners when we come together in unity, we would never again have any doubt
about the need to gather as one and to become attuned to each other as a single
spiritual entity.
Why
is the act of gathering so important in the Hebrew mind set. The Hebrew
Kabbalist teaches that, by giving others the ability to do their spiritual
works is even more important than doing our own. We should think about this
Shabbat as a time when we celebrate our own connection with the Divine Light
for ourselves and our families.
Even
more valuable is the role we play as a conduit for others to be drawn to this
Divine Light. This dual consciousness we experience on Beresheet is to
celebrate our union and other union with the Divine Light. Beresheet calls on
us to remember, renew, and progress to the other days of Creation, so we can
received more of the Divine Light in the lives of ourselves and our family.
As
we seek to increase spiritually by experience the 52 Torah Portion, we should
consider Beresheet as the start of the first day of Creation, or the different
stages of Divine Light. One of the many significant stories in Beresheet is the
experience of Adam and Eve, with the snake, and the Tree of Knowledge of Good
and Evil, which begins with the CREATOR putting Adam and Eve in “Gan Eden” the Garden of Eden. When the
CREATOR Place Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, HE tells them that they may
eat from all the tree of the Garden except one, “Etz haDa’at Tov veRa,” the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.
Eve
“the flesh” and the Snake “our evil inclination, trick Eve into breaking the
CREATOR’S Command. When Eve gave the idea to Adam and he took her suggestion,
they both fall spiritually, bringing the kingdom of darkness into their lives.
In
my journey or quest to discover or should I say, uncover the truth; I will
begin by praying for the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Understanding, the
Spirit of Knowledge, and the Spirit of Wisdom. It is the Holy Spirit, the Set
Apart Spirit that will lead us into all spiritual truth.
Beresheet
awakens us to realize that there is an opponent or evil inclination in this
world, and we must be cautious of him. If Eve had possessed that one piece of
information, we all would not be here struggling to bring our Light to Maturity.
If the CREATOR is the never Ending Perfect Light, why did HE allow the Snake to
exist? The answer has to do with free will. The CREATOR wants us to choose to
be obedient to HIM, to be virtuous, we must choose to be and not to because we
have to.
Since
it was Adam and Eve free will that led to their expulsion from the Garden, it
must be our free will also to return to that spiritual paridise. The only way
to remove the pain, suffering and death that entered into our lives and this
world, is to overcome the Opponent who make us doubt, who keep us in darkness,
who keep misleading us.
The
Opponent also gives us the ability to grow spiritually, for without resistance
there is no growth. Only in this way can we achieve “bila hameavet lanetzach,” the removal of pain, suffering, and death
from our world.
The
Spirit has revealed to me that there was a rebellion in the Kingdom of Heavens .
We also know that a war broke out; we also know that the rebellion was led by
the Evil-one who took one- third of the angelic population as is seen in
Revelation 12. In any organization if one-third of the work force should leave,
then that would create a large vacuum or vacancies. Our Heavenly Father told us
that pertaining to Yahushua (Jesus Christ), that He learned obedience through
the things that He suffered. Yahushua showed us the true purpose of Creation:
which is to learn obedience to the Torah, by having it written on our heart,
Jeremiah 31:23, and Hebrew 8:10, and in so doing we will be developed into a
perfect sons. These sons are to replace those who rebelled with Lucifer. Now
the rest of the Story!
Genesis
1:1 Beresheeth Bara, Elohim, Et, hashamayim v-et
ha-aretz. This is the Hebrew rendition for chapter1:1.
Beresheeth: means in the
beginning. Question! In the beginning of what? The answer I will give is: is in
the beginning of the re-creation story. The whole purpose of Creation is to
restore the Kingdom
of Heavens , by developing
faithful servants who have proven their faithfulness while they were here on
Earth; as Yahushua proved Himself to be absolutely faithful, even by dying on
the Stake.
The
Hebrew Text define Elohim as (Gods or Mighty Ones), there purpose was to
re-establish the Kingdom, with faithful servants. Continuing with Genesis 1:1
the Hebrew word (את) the first and last word of the Hebrew alphabet, (את) (Aleph-Taf). This is equal to
the Greek “Alfa and Omega” and the English the A and Z. These two letters
represent the complete written Word.
Most
English translation conveniently left out this (את)(Aleph – Tav) in their
translation of the Scripture. Most Scriptures says that in the beginning God
created the Heavens and the earth. But this is not what the Hebrew text says.
The
Correct translation should have said that “in the beginning the “אלהים” Elohim “Gods” Created the Word,
then the Heavens and the Word was used to create the Earth”.
Genesis
1:26 says let Us make man
in our image. Who then is this us? This
‘us’ refers to the plurality of the Godhead, in Hebrew language it is called
Elohim. The singular name for God is El, and Elohim is the plural name for Gods
or the Mighty Ones. The paragraph below is taken from the Hebrew text of
Genesis 1:1 below it is the Tranleration into the english. Hebrew read from
right to left.
Gen 1:1 בראשׁ ברא
אלהים את השׁמים
ואת
הארץ׃
The
english translation of the Hebrew is as folow. Bereeshet
bara elohim et HaShamayim v-et ha-aretz.
Bereeshet means in the
beginning, Bara means created, elohim means gods, et
means the word, HaShamayim means the
heavens, v-et means and the word, ha-aretz means
the earth.
In
the Hebrew language, spiritual beings are called (god) or mighty one, and gods
are called Elohim or the mighty ones. In the beginning of the Creation process
the Mighty Ones created the Word, the Heavens, and the Word created the Earth.
John
chapter 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with the Mighty One, and the Word was the voice of the Mighty One. 2 the
Word was in the beginning with the Mighty One. 3All things were made
through the Word, and without the Word nothing was made that were made. 4In
The Word was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light
shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
In
the beginning the Elohim created the substance of the heavens and the substance
of the earth. The first thing that the Mighty-Ones Created was the Word; and
therefore everything in the Heavens was created according to that Word.
Therefore, the Word is the Constitution of the Heavenly Kingdom .
All Kingdoms today have a constitution, on how things in that kingdom or
country should function or operate.
If
we use the analogy of the computer; we know that the Physical world is the
computer, the Holy Spirit is the Operating System and the Word is the
Application program. Therefore, all things in the Kingdom of Heavens, must be
done according to the Word, or attributes of the Spirit, as is stated in:
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness,
self-control.
After
the fall, the children of darkness did not have access to the ligh or the Word.
This light was the Word to the children of light, those angels who did not
rebel. John describe this very well when he said “In The Word was
life, and the life was the light of men. And the light”Word” shines in the
darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” One could used the anology of the light buld, the bulb that shine was
connected to the Power, the word, while the bulds that were darkned were
disconnected from the Word.
With
this in mind, let us examine what it says in Genesis 1:2 And
the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of EL YAHVEH moved upon the face of the waters. Some translations of Scripture say that the earth
came to be without form. This formlessness means that things were not in their
right order. Remember, that I said earlier that there was a war and a rebellion
in the Heavens. During a war, chaos usually reigns supreme, and things get
pushed out of their proper order. We must always remember that Elohim, The
Mighty Ones are an Elohim of order and not confusion.
In
Genesis 1:2, it says that void, emptiness, a vacancy was now in the Kingdom of Heavens , due to the one-third of the
stars (angels) that joined the rebellion.
The darkness spoken of here
in Genesis 1:2 is not merely the absence of light, but a specific attitude as
spoken of in Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create
darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I YAHVEH do all these things. Until then, light, and darkness, good and bad,
truth and untruth did reside together. They function in a mixture, implying
that patches of light and darkness were intermixed with one another. Now back to the beginning of the re-creation story.
On the 1st day of creation.
The Holy Name of the Universal Father is “YAHVEH,” it was
blotted out of the consciousness of the inhabitance of part of the Universe by
Lucifer. This verse says that the earth became Tohu, this Hebrew
word means formless and Bohu means empty or void of the Holy Spirit
dwelling in the mind of the inhabitance of the earth.
The earth was without order
and void of the Word because the source of light was removed from the water
which sustains the earth and the Spirit of YAHVEH came and vibrates upon the
face of the water. Meaning that the Holy Spirit came and causes a shaking, a
stirring of the water. As the Holy Spirit today create an understanding of the
Word, by His Ministry, the Holy Spirit came at that time to stir up the water,
to separate light from darkness, truth from lies. Before there can be a
separation there must be a spiritual understanding.
Human
is 95% water, when the Holy Spirit impress upon our heart, when He begins to
move upon our lives, it will cause a separation, our first day of Creation will
begin.
Genesis
1:3 And The Might “Elohim”Ones said, Let there be light:
and there was light. 4And Elohim saw the light, that it was good:
and Elohim divided the light from the darkness. 5And the Elohim
called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the
morning were the first day.
The
above verses begins a chronological description of the creation of a perfect
son. Verse 4-5 says that the Mighty Ones “Elohim” saw that it was good to
separate light from darkness, so it was decreed that light and darkness should
not mingle, but should function separately. So The Mighty One called the light
day and the darkness they called night and decreed that it was good, meaning it
needed no further improvement.
This
Light spoken off in verse 3, is a restoration of Light back to Earth, for the
Light had been taken away during the rebellion. Adam and Eve was to be the
caretaker of that Light.
We
learn also that in Numbers 14:34 and Ezra 4:6 I have appointed to you
each day for a year. Therefore, each day
of creation represents one Torah Cycle or one yearly cycle of Passover,
Pentecost, and Succot. We also know that the new Torah Cycle starts right after
Sukkoth, hence this Parasha: Bereshith, gets its name.
How does this apply to you and I? When we first come
to justification, or in other words to be saved or initial salvation; it is
then that we begin to read through the Torah for the 1st time. It is
during this first year or day or first Torah Cycle, that we learn through the
Spirit of Truth, what is right and what is wrong; we learn truth from lies,
light from darkness. When we read through the Torah for the first time with the
Spirit of Understanding, then The Holy Spirit will show us, and will also teach
us what is right and what is wrong, what is Tahor and what is Tamia? The Kingdom of Heavens is always built on the Truth
found only in the Torah. The base of the Menorah shown above is built on the
Spirit of truth.
This is the first work of the Holy Spirit, which
gives us the Spirit of Truth. Even though the light was created on the 1st
day it did not receive its final assignment until the 4th day. I
Thess 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that
day should overtake you as a thief. 5Ye are all the children of
light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of
darkness.
Ephes 5:7 Be not ye
therefore partakers with them. 8For ye were sometimes darkness, but
now are ye light in YAHVEH: walk as children of light: 9(For
the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10Proving
what is acceptable unto YAHVEH. 11And have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12For it is a
shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. At the end of this first day the Mighty Ones spoke
of it with the expression: “it is good”.
Gen 1:4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good. And Elohim
separated the light from the darkness.
– In our first year or first day of Creation, it is always good when we
learn to separate light from darkness, truth from lies, right from wrong. The
Elohim decided that this was the course of action in the creation of a perfect
son. The base of the Menorah show above is an illustration of this truth. The
foundation of the Kingdom
of Heavens is always build
on truth. When we read through the Torah from Genesis to Deuteronomy with the
Spirit of Understanding, we will learn right from wrong, truth from lies.
I will
use the building of the Menorah with all its parts to explain the sixth days of
creation. In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every doctrine be
established.
The Spirit of
Truth
|
Gen 1:5 And Elohim called
the light ‘day’ and the darkness He called ‘night.’ And there came to be
evening and there came to be morning, the first day. – It is the Elohim or the Mighty-Ones
who call the children of heavens, the children of light, and the children of
darkness are children of the evil one.
Eph 5:8 For you were once darkness,1 but
now you are light in the
Master. Walk as children of light – Footnote: 2:2 in which you once walked according to
the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air,
of the spirit that is now working in the sons of
disobedience, 4:18, having been darkened in their understanding,
having been estranged from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is
in them, because of the hardness of their heart, - At the end of the first day of
Creation or the first year of our
spiritual journey, as we read through the Torah, as the children of light,
we learn to separate the things of light from the things of darkness, truth
from lies, right from wrong.
In Beresheet, the Torah says: In the recreating
off our world, the CREATOR saw the Light that it was good. This first light was
the Menorah, the Holy Spirit. It was concelled from the children of darkness,
but revealed to the children of Light.
Through our study of Torah, each person
can attract this Spirit of Light and elevate ourseves spiritually. As there is
seven day of Creation for the Children of Light, there are seven days of
destruction for the children of darkness.
The 2nd day of
Creation.
Genesis
1: 6And The Mighty Ones”Elohim” said, Let there be a
firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the
waters. 7And The Mighty Ones made the firmament, and divided the
waters, which were under the firmament from the waters that were above the
firmament: and it was so. 8And The Mighty Ones called the firmament
Heavens. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Although
the Heavens were created before the 1st day, it was still in a state
of flux as it were. On the 2nd day The Mighty Ones sets a division
between the waters above and the waters below. We know that water represents
people or teaching. We know that the water that come from above is fresh and
clean, and is able to nourish humanity and provides the essential water for the
plants; but the water under the firmament is full of salt and cannot be used
for irrigation.
During
our 2nd day of our spiritual creation, we will be able to set or
decern between the teachings of Torah and Philosophy, the teachings of man. In
this 2nd day of creation, we will learn to distinguish the
difference between ‘man’s commandments’ and the teachings of Torah, which comes
from the Mighty Ones.
Much
too often the commandments of men, such as holy Communion, Good Friday, holy
matrimony, Christmas day, Easter, plays too much of an important part in our
lives. Why? Because the Church have not yet experienced their 1st day of
Creation. The Mighty Ones did not say it was good about this day!
Why was this day not
describe as good. It was because the Waters was divided for the very first
time.
The 3rd Day of Creation.
The 3rd Day of Creation.
Genesis
1:9And The Mighty Ones said, Let the waters under the
Heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and
it was so. 10And the Mighty One called the dry land Earth; and the
gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and The Mighty One saw that it
was good. 11And the Mighty Ones said, Let the earth bring forth
grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his
kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth
grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose
seed was in itself, after his kind: and the Mighty Ones saw that it was good. 13And
the evening and the morning were the third day. - Up until this point the entire earth was submerged under water. On this
third day, The Mighty Ones decreed that a boundary be set for the waters under
the firmament, therefore preparing the way for the forming of the dry land,
vegetation, animals and ultimately for man.
Why
was there a limit placed on the water under the firmament? Could it be that we
are being told that it is the Mighty Ones who establishes or determines the
proper limits for all of creation? This aspect of the Mighty One’s activity
means that They alone determines the proper limits to creation and to every
individual human being’s resources and also suffering. This aspect of Elohim as
the One who determines what is sufficient and sets limits, is alluded to by one
of His Names: El SHADDAI, from the word enough, or sufficient.
The
waters under the firmament, represent both salt and frest water. The teaching
of man and the teaching of Torah.
The waters that were above the
firmament – Mayim Duchrin – is a Hebrew term for
Divine Energy flowing downward from the CREATOR to humanity, like a rain from
the Heavens that nourishes life on earth. Mayin Dechurin, like Mayin Yahyin
living waters, can stimulate people to offer thanksgiving to ABBA YAHWEH, Yahyin
Nukvin. When this exchange between the CREATOR and the Created, it is called in
the Hebrew “itaruta dela’eilah” an awakening from above.
Mayin Nukvin “vapour” is a term for Divine Energy
frowing upwards, from humanity to the CREATOR, like a spring bursting forth,
shooting water into the heavens. This is frest water void of the contamination
of salt. Mayin Nukvin can occur when a person perform a Commandment, sending
Divine Energy from the person to the CREATOR. This person Mitzvah can in turn
stimulate a return flow of benevolence from the CREATOR back to the person,
this is called “itaruta deletata” an awakening from below. This process begins
to take place during the second day of Creation.
Even
though the earth was created before, the dry land did not appear until the
third day. The land was neither visible until a limits was placed on the waters
under the firmament. A look at the word earth: this name means in Hebrew to
run, to rush, or to desire. The Mighty Ones began to create the earth and cause
it to produce or sustain vegetation and also animal life. Even though the dry
land is one-third of the surface of the Earth, it is surrounded by two-thirds
salt water. It is the water from Heavens that falls as rain that produces life
on the dry land. It is this stage in our spiritual growth that our spiritual
desire begins to manifest itself.
In
creating the herbs yielding seed, the Mighty Ones commanded that the vegetation
should grow its own seed within it self, so that it could multiply. In the
Garden of Eden The Creator placed two specific trees. One was the doctrine of
the Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil and the other was doctrine of the Tree
of Life. Both trees were given the potential to reproduce. As the seed for all
plants was established on this 3rd day of creation. The Character,
potential the spiritual talent of each individual, will begine to manifest
itself during our third year of been saved.
Likewise
the seed of who we are called to be on planet earth will begin to show it self
from the 3rd day of our recreation. We are admonished not to pick
the fruit of a tree until after the 1st three years. When we are in
our 3rd day of creation then our gifts or calling will begin to
manifest itself, but we cannot walk in those areas until after the 4th
year. In every seed the DNA sequence is place that will determine the physical
make up and the long-Gevity of the plant. As the DNA of every plant was establish,
so is our spiritual DNA manifest on this day of Creation.
The
earth brought forth germination when the true name of EL YAHVEH is planted on
earth, that when ABBA YAHVEH receiveth HIS proper conformation, according to
the 248 Positive and 365 negative commandment.
This
principle is clear in Leviticus 19: 23 And when ye shall
come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then
ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as
uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. 24But in the
fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise YAHVEH withal. 25And
in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you
the increase thereof: I am YAHVEH your Elohim. Here we see that even though the seeds are planted it will not come to
maturity for a while. At the end of this day the Mighty Ones said that it was
also good!
The 4th Day of
Creation
Genesis
1:14 and the Mighty Ones said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of the Heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for
signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15And let them be for lights in
the firmament of the Heavens to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16And
the mighty Ones made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and
the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17And
the Mighty Ones set them in the firmament of the Heavens to give light upon the
earth, 18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide
the light from the darkness: and the Mighty One saw that it was good. 19And
the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
The
illumination that had been started on the 1st day was set in place
on the 4th day. Even though all the potential of Creation were
created on the 1st day, each was set in place on the 4th day
when it was commanded. In our spiritual development, the Spirit of YAHVEH, and
the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding would be developed on the 4th
day. Our ability to be led by the Holy Spirit and our ability to walk according
to Torah and also our ability to understand or discern spiritual things would
be fully developed.
The
creation of the first three days and those of the next three days both parallel
and compliment one another. As light was separated on the 1st day
and luminaries were set in place on the 4th. The seas and atmosphere
were created on the 2nd day, and aquatic life and birds were created
4 days later. The dry land and vegetation were created on the 3rd,
and was populated by human on the 6th day.
At
this stage of our spiritual development the spiritual nature begins to display
spiritual authority over our human or earthly desires. No longer are we driven
by every doctrine of man, but by every Word written in the Holy Scriptures. As
a young man spiritually, the believer would be very strong in the word, yet he
or she still have some more fine-tuning to take place. Their lives would become
a sign for others to see, even though the Spirit of Counsel and Authority and
Knowledge and the Fear of Elohim are not yet fully developed.
Of
these three luminaries, one would display the glory of Heavens, the other would
dominate the day, and the last would dominate the night. These lights would
clearly cause a distinction between the darkness of sin and the light of
righteousness. The great luminary: the sun will dominate by day and its light
will be seen everywhere, even in places where its direct rays do not reach. And
the smaller light the moon will dominate the night. As believers are we
dominating our environment or are we reflecting the light of Messiyah in the
darkness in other people’s lives? At the end of this day the Mighty Ones said
that it was good!
This forth day is also
the year when the brightest and best among the group that is experiencing the
forth day are separated for advance Torah study.
Gen 1:16 And
Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser
light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And Elohim set them in the firmament of the
heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and
over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and The Elohim saw
that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. -
We know that light represent the Kingdom of Heaven and night represent the kingdom
of this world. The brightest and best among the group are the sun and the moon
and the stars are those who have not grasp the teachings of Torah like the
rest.
Those
who are represented by the moon and the stars may go into ministry of help or
even into business venture.
Even
though everyone is required to learn Torah, it is only those who are the
brightest is required to be set apart to be Torah teachers. From this year or
from this day on, those who are chosen will go on or separated for more advance
teaching.
Exo 13:12 That thou shall set apart unto YAHVEH
all that opened the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which
thou hast; the males shall be YAHVEH'S. Psa 4:3
But know
that YAHVEH hath set apart him that is godly for himself: YAHVEH will
hear when I call unto him.
Notice in Exodus the first
born are set apart like the best and the brightest. I might even say that these
were the best ten percent of every class or group were given or chosen for
advance training. The rest who were not chosen can still continue their Torah
teaching until they reach their desired goal.
Even
among Yahushua followers, He chooses 12 disciples to receive in-depth teaching.
Those who would be with Him every day.
Mat 10:1 and when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave
them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of
sickness and all manner of disease. 2
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is
called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his
brother; :3 Philip, and Bartholomew;
Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus,
whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who
also betrayed him. 5 These twelve
Yahushua sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the
Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house
of Yisrael. 7 And as ye go, preach,
saying, The kingdom
of Heaven is at hand.
Mar 3:14 And he choose twelve,
that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Luke 6:13 And when it was day,
he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he
named apostles;
Notice in Luke 6:13 the text says that when it was
day. Did we not read in Genesis 1:16 that the greater light rules the day? This
great light was the Light of Messiyah who was ruling the day, and His disciples
were the lesser light.
It seems to me that Yahushua in choosing His Disciples,
also fulfilled Torah. He choose the best and the brightest within His group to
be His disciples. These
twelve were given the mandate to preach the constitution of the Kingdom of Heaven . It was not given to the other
members of Yahushua’s entourage; even though they provided vital support to the
twelve.
We are
told in the following Scripture Lev 19:23 And when ye
shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food,
then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be
as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. 24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof
shall be holy to praise YAHVEH withal. 25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the
fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am YAHVEH
your EL.
On the
forth day or forth year we shall not harvest the fruit of a tree. This is a
physical principle with a spiritual meaning. On the forth year we must set
aside certain people unto YAHVEH. On the fifth year we may start to used them
as Yahushua send out His Disciples, sending them out two by two.
The 5th Day of
Creation
Genesis
1:20And the Mighty Ones said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the
earth in the open firmament of Heavens. 21And the Mighty Ones
created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters
brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his
kind: and the Mighty Ones saw that it was good. 22And the Mighty
Ones blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in
the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23And the evening and
the morning were the fifth day.
The
command that the waters teem with life given by the Mighty Ones, gave the sea
the power to produce marine life, whereupon the water became filled with living
creatures. Therefore, the power was given to Philosophy the doctrines of man,
and religious institutions to be successful and reproduce. This is the reason
why Darwin ’s Theory is so effective among the unsaved, it
is only fulfilling its Divine mandate.
As believers we are not
to criticize the world system for been successful. Scripture says that the
world system are smarter than us!!! Luke 16:8 And YAHVEH
commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of
this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. This is a sad condemnation of the
children of light.
The
Mighty Ones created various sizes of sea creatures. Twice in the sixth days of
creation we see the term ‘and Elohim created’, the first is on the 5th
day and the other is when He created man. The Mighty Ones gave them a special
blessing for them to multiply. Even those people who have not overcome their
animal natures were given the opportunity to grow and multiply.
If
they were not blessed, or given the right to flourish, then it is conceivable
that the evil one would set out to destroy them. The evil one cannot destroy
anything that the Mighty One has created; and it is only humans who were given
the dominion over mature that can do so.
The
term’ be fruitful and multiply’, taken in this context, the phrase becomes a
blessing; and the creatures would have the capacity to populate the earth. As
humans grows, so too would the animals and vegetation grow to support them;
that is why every resource on earth is a renewable commodity.
We
know that the trees represent doctrines, therefore eating of the Tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, is to embrace the philosophy of man or things that
will us to advance socially or politically, to add to Torah things that the
Torah did not say. At this stage of one’s spiritual development, the believer
has the ability or the authority in themselves to overcome the teachings of
certain doctrines. They have the ability to flirt with certain teachings and
yet not be spiritually contaminated by it. At the end of this day the Mighty
ones also said that it was good!
The 6th Day of
Creation
Genesis 1:24And
the Mighty יהוה Ones said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after
his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind:
and it was so. 25And the Mighty Ones made the beast of the earth
after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon
the earth after his kind: and the Mighty ones saw that it was good. - Adam and Eve are the first created human
beings, as describe in the Torah account of creation. They were originally
created with heavenly attributes, Adam was very much above and beyond what we
as humans experience today. Their home was the Garden of Eden “Gan Eden” it
existed on a higher spiritual dimension than what we experience today.
This
spiritual paradises was close in proximity to the Creator; therefore Adam and
Eve experience no sense of separation between them and the CREATOR. This state
of unity only last until the Fall. For a true understanding of Creation, we
must first look at the two different account of Creation in Genesis.
26And the Mighty Ones said, Let us make man
in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth 27So
the Mighty Ones created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he
him; male and female created he them. 28And the Mighty One blessed
them, and Elohim said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the
earth, and subdeu it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. – In the second account of the Creation of man in
verse 2:7
And Elohim formed the man out of dust from the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils breath of life. And the man became a living being. 8 And יהוה Elohim planted a
garden in Ěḏen, to the east, and
there He put the man whom He had formed. There is no mention of the soul of
the human being in the first report. In the second, however, we read that the
human is invested with a soul from the Breath of the CREATOR, and it
specifically states that the man then become a living being. In this report we
are given very clear indications that Adam received a soul, the breath of Life,
which in the Hebrew text root as Neshamah, the Hebrew term for the righteous
soul.
Later in the same verse, we read that Adam was invested with a life force
called soul, the text tells us, Adam became a living being. Going to the Hebrew
text again, we see the term l’nefesh, which means that the life force given to
Adam is accomplished through investing
Adam with a Nefesh, which is the Hebrew term for another level of soul:
that which animates creatures and gives life to the physical body, sometimes
referred to as the natural or animal soul.
The descrepancies arising from these two accounts, explain that, in the
first account, male and female was created simultaneously, at least, if not as
one androgynous human being. They further explain that the second account
explicitly describe the formation of woman from the rib of the man, with no
mention of the name, Adam. Genesis 1: 27So the Mighty Ones
created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and
female created he them. – We see again in Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they
four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they
four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an
eagle. If Adam and Eve was created like
the CREATOR, we also know that there are other living Creatures in the Heavens
with multiple faces. That a different study.
Genesis 5:1 reads “This is the book of the genealogy of Aḏam. In the day that Elohim created man, He made him in the
likeness of Elohim.” – In both of these text, we again see plurality, by
using the words us, our, and them, as well as dualsexuality references in the
Creation of the human race, not to mention that the Hebrew text reads the Adam,
not simply Adam.
When the CREATOR created Adam Reshon the first human, man was androgynous.
That is why it says, male and female he created them. Two in one. This seems to
imply that the first Adam was created with two faces, and then severed the Adam
into two beings, one male and one female. The Hebrew word “Paneim” always translated
faces, however in the English it is called face singular. No one can see the
Faces of YAHWEH and live.
It seem that both Adam and Eve shared the same vital organs, this
assumption is supported by Adam’s statement when he says this is now bones of
my bones and flesh of my flesh. This point is further supported by the Hebrew
word for female, ishah, which is a
derivative of ish, the Hebrew word
for male.
The
Elohim said let us make man who knew how to unite images and likeness, as it is
created, they will have dominion over the fish of the sea, all manner of
teaching; over the fowls of the air - evil spirit; over the cattle – the
fleshly nature, in fact they will have total control of creation.
The
climax of Creation was at hand. Animal life was created first, and then human
life. The whole purpose of creation is to create many perfect sons, these sons
are sons of righteousness or the Order of Melchizedek. The final piece of the
puzzle or principle of creation will be in place. Man’s ability to choose
between good and evil was established on the 1st day. Those who will
choose ‘good’ must earn that position by the choice that they make; and they
must be obedient even unto death. That was the purpose of the 2nd, 3rd,
4th, 5th and 6th days of Creation, to build on the
foundation that was establish on the 1st day
The
last thing to be created was the animal, or the last thing to be over come is
our animal nature. Even though the animals were created to supply man with food
and transportation, it would be the source of one of our greatest test. Our
flesh was created to carry our godly nature our spirit. Of all the clean
animals you should eat, but the swine shall not be food for you. This was the
directive that was given to man. Today, pork is the most widely used source of
meat in the world. This principle demonstrates that man will have a form of
godliness, cloven hooves, yet they do not obey the strict dietery laws of
Torah. A swine will eat anything it is given, a sheep will not.
As
most of today religion is plague with the swine mentality, one who believes yet
does not spend the time to carefully scrutinize what they believe in.
Let
the earth bring forth, this term
implies that a concealed or dormant presence was being brought into existence.
What we today call Mother Nature was set in motion. We do not know which season
was the first to start, but we could say that it was spring, for spring starts
the ball rolling. Living creatures are independent living breathing beings,
which is capable of reproducing their own species. The Mighty Ones endowed each
species, with ever senses and faculties that are required to thrive; we call
this the DNA marker. The Mighty Ones said that’ it was good’; this expression
of approval always applies to a facet of Creation at its completion.
Animals,
fishes, vegetable and mineral existence were completed and labeled as ‘good’ as
soon as they were created, because they had neither the ability nor the
requirement to develop themselves any further. There was no further development
require for man on that day.
The
Mighty Ones said: “let US make Man”. The El of these Mighty Ones is EL
YAHVEH. Let me explain: the Hebrew word echad:
represents one in plurality. For example, I have five fingers yet they are
apart of one hand. Each of my fingers can work independently, yet they are not
independent of my Hand.
Man
was made with great deliberation among the Mighty Ones. The purpose was to
create sons who would prove their faithfulness to His Kingdom by the things
that they experienced. Man was given the simple task of establishing dominion
over all creation. In the creation of man, EL YAHVEH breathed into man His very
essence: His Spirit or a part of Himself and man became a living Soul. Man was
given the charge to rule over creation; the fish of the sea, the birds of the
air, and over the animals. Man was perfect, he only need to prove his
obedience.
In
the spiritual sence this means that man should rule over or overcome, the
different religious teachings from the different religions, and he should
distinguish between the different evil spirits that the birds of the air
represent, and lastly over our different animalistic nature, which the various
animals represent.
At
that time in the history of the world there was a independent mindset created
by Lucifer, simlar to what we have today, which cause the angels to follow him.
That was the only thing Adam and Eve had to overcome. It was not until they eat
of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil that man’s flesh became an
obstitcle to overcome. Notice that they were naked and it was not an issue.
After the forbidden fruit was eaten, then both Adam and Eve cloth themselves in
leaves, religion.
The
creation of man after the likeness of the Mighty One, the Torah, and Adam was
the theoretical expression of the Word. Man was supposed to be the fulfillment
of the Word here on earth. The Word made ‘flesh’ is the absolute fulfillment of
the Word in human form. Every One of the Mighty Ones are a fulfillment of the
Word, the Word is the very image of the Mighty Ones. Among all the living
creatures, man alone is endowed like his Creator, with a sense of morality,
reason and with free will. He can choose to love EL YAHVEH and be in spiritual
communion with Him, as Adam and Eve did in the beginning. Man alone can direct
his actions through reasoning; it is in this sense that man was described as
being created in the image and likeness of the Mighty Ones.
According
with the Divine purpose, the world was created to be inhabited by human, and
all the necessities to sustain a productive life were placed at our disposal.
The first commandment given earlier to man, was to be
fruitful and multiply. I am quite sure this command does not only apply
to the natural, but even more so to the spiritual. Anyone who neglects this has
abrogated a positive commandment, incurring great punishment; because he or she
has demonstrated that they do not wish to comply with the Divine will to
populate the world. The creating of planet earth was and still is to produce
mature sons for the Kingdom
of Heavens . Populating
the earth is a step in fulfilling that Divine purpose.
After
the rebellion of Lucifer, they were children of light and children of darkness
still living on Earth. The children of Light were place in the Garden of Eden
and the children of darkness were in the land on Nod. Lucifer wanted to convert
the entire earth into the kingdom of darkness, that is why He deceives Eve, who
deceives Adam, or you might even say Lucifer tried to prevent the restoration
of the Kingdom of
Heavens .
Adam
and Eve was supposed to be the children of light who would manifest the very
presence, the Names of the Creator here on earth. In the beginning when Adam
was place in the Garden, he had knowledge of the Holy Name of YAHVEH, and He
taught it to his son Seth and Seth to his son Enosh. In the days of Enosh the
sons of Adam began to call on the name YAHVEH, Gen 4:26.
Satan
continued his deceiving efforts to destroy the thoughts of the Universal Father
and HIS Holy Name “YAHVEH”, in the minds of mankind. He increased his attack by
introducing the name of other Elohim “gods” to mankind to distract us from the
use and belief of the Universal Father, YAHVEH EL ELYON.
Man
was given an herbal diet in the beginning. We see this in the description of
the two trees in the middle of the Garden, the Tree of the knowledge of Good
and Evil, and the Tree of Life. This
herbal diet in the spiritual was only the ability to overcome the various false
doctrines of Lucifer. When man sinned, and his flesh became more prevalent, we
now had to overcome both the false doctrine of Lucifer, and also overcome the
flesh. The eating of flesh is a sign that we must consumed, or control, or grow
spiritually from the desire of the flesh.
It
was not important to slay any animal since blood was not a requirement for
drawing near to the Mighty One. Also slaying of our animal nature was not an
option, since man was controlled by the Word that flows from the Mighty One. To
all the living creatures on the Earth the Mighty Ones gave plants that produce
seeds for food. The knowledge of the use of these various plants was given to
us, to be used for our food. We are told further on in Scripture, that the
leaves of the tree of life, are for the healing of the nations in Revelation
22.
The
tree of the knowledge of good and evil was the false doctrines of Lucifer, the
children of darkness eat from that tree; the Tree of life was the Torah, this
is the tree that the children of light should all eat from.
The
second command was to eat fruits that produce seeds. These types of fruits were
to be food for those who are being led by the Spirit. Even the animals were
commanded to eat only vegetables. If those who are controlled by the animal
nature, were to eat a steady diet of the tree of life, they too would be an
over-comer. The advent of Mad Cow disease was due to the animals eating other
animal part, that was included in their feed. Carnivorous animals were not an
issue at the creation of this earth. But the fall of man brought about flesh
eating in our diet.
Everything
that was created up until then was for a specific purpose and was able to act
according to the designed parameters. Torah declares that Creation in its
entirety was good, and the individual components were described as being good;
also after the Mighty Ones placed Man in the Garden, He said that it was very
good! The components of Creation were even more amazing in combination than
they are individually. At the conclusion of the sixth day, when the Mighty Ones
created a perfect son who could walk and talk with Him, He then proclaimed that
is was very good! This is the whole purpose of the Recreation story, and our
Designer is still trying to create more perfect sons. Every day of Creation so
far is to show those who are spiritually minded, EL YAHVEH’s perfect plan in
creating mature sons. The sixth day is distinguished from the other days of
creation, because this is the one in which all His productive work was
completed, that is why it was described as ‘very good’.
At
the end of the sixth day when Adam was created he was perfect, there was not
blemish in him. His only obligation was to prove his loyalty to the CREATOR. He
was given one command do not eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil,
do not feed at the tree where the children of darkness eat. We are a chosen
generation, a peculiar people; our inheritance is not like the children of
darkness. The formula is still there, every human who require to reach
perfection, must follow the same perfect pattern.
The
Word will not return void, for it cannot be destroyed, it cannot change, not
one jot or one title of the word be change until it accomplish, the purpose for
which it was design, to produce a set of sons of Righteousness, which is describe
as the Order of Melchizedek.
The
Word will not return void, for it cannot be destroyed, it cannot change, not
one jot or one title of the word be change until it accomplish, the purpose for
which it was design, to produce a set of sons of Righteousness, which is
describe as the Order of Melchizedek.
In the Hebrew Cosmogony,
the first chapter of Genesis “Bereshith”, speaks of the unfolding process of
recreation from an already existing world that fell under disrepute. Creation
was called forth by “eheiyeh Asher Eheiyed” I will be what I will to be, at
Teferet, the focal point of the Atsilutic Tree.
Here,
Elohim created, formed or makes a new world. In Genesis, the earth became the
breeding ground of spiritual manifestation, where the mature sons were produce,
within a period of seven spiritual days.
This
creation process was a step by step unfolding of the Tree of life, with each
day represent a level of spiritual manifestation, until it culminate into the
last day of creation, completing the creation which was consider to be very
good.
In Genesis 1:27, say in the Hebrew “Vayibra Elohim et Ha
Adam,” so Elohim Created Adam. In Genesis 2:7, it also says “YAHVEH Elohim
Vayitzer et Ha Adam,” and YAHVEH Elohim formed Adam. Meaning that EL YAHVEH
created Adam to be formed in HIS image.
Chapter 2
This second chapter of Genesis expresses the formative
aspect of the Sefirah called “Olam Ha Yitzirah,” the world to creation
“pattern”. Yitzirah is the spiritual realm of differentiation where the spirit
of the Briatic “breeding ground,” realm undergo countless modification into
individual types and forms called humans.
This world is known as the
Garden of Eden, in which the genderless human was created in Genesis 2:27, this
was later differentiated into the distinctions of Adam the male, and Eve the
female.
This
Asiyah “As it should be”, world emerges out of the one above and is the
world in which we humanity, as descendant of Adam and Eve lives. It is a world
of spiritual light and darkness; liquids, solid and gas matter, a world in
which our spirit experience all things through our five human sense.”
The
Asiyah world is populated by what is called in the Hebrew, “Tachutonium”, those
who dwell below, and refers to all the beings in this worlds of the flesh. The
Elohim “gods” of the upper world, who dwell above in the Heavens, cannot be perceived
through the five sense of the lower world, earth.
The
inhabitants of upper world plays an important part in our development, we do
not directly perceive their presence yet we are nevertheless affected by them,
as natural rhythmus, suggestive affected, planetary cycles, period of history,
human spiritual progress.
Within this creative world of Briah, there is what is also
known in the Hebrew language as Kelippot, or the world of shells. This
concept recognizes the existence of demonic or destructive spiritual forces.
Their task is to test goodness, and though they appears to be evil, they are in
reality working for Elohim as outlined in the story of Job.
Satan
being the master deceiver and tester, these spiritual forces function to
disrupt the goal of our Creative Father, to produce righteous son, of the Order
of Melchizedek. These spiritual beings or demonic forces, used their testing
abilities of the Kelippot “keep your mind on,” and seek to use it against
humanity.
Adam
like all human possess free will, the ability to choose as to what they will be
influenced by. First man was only given false doctrine as a test, since Adam
and Eve eat of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, humanity has been
given an added obstacle to overcome the flesh or human desire. As human, we
must choose or exercise the power of manifesting both good and evil, and this
is where the six days of Creation, playes an important part in our recreation
story.
Gen 2:1 Thus
the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array. - The second
chapter of Genesis begins with the intended goal of creation, by the Creator
Himself; is the restoration of the Kingdom
of Shamaim .
It
says in this verse that the heavens and the earth was complete, everything was
set in order again. The Sons of the Order of Melchizedek whose leader is
Yahushua, will take their rightful place around the Throne with YAHVEH EL
ELYON, the Most High Power of Powers through whom all things are possible.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day Elohim completed His work which He
had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
- The second verse established the
timetable for the re-creation of the Heavens. It says by the 7th day
the Mighty Ones completed His work, which He had started on the 1st
day, so He rested on the 7th. This Sabbath is the re-establishing of
the original Glory and purity of the Heavens before the rebellion. Those who
are now a part of the Kingdom that is to come, will be a loyal bunch of believers,
of the Order of Melchizedek, where rebellion will no longer be an issue; and
where the fruit of the Spirit rules supremely.
Gen 2:3 And Elohim blessed the seventh day and set it apart,
because on it They rested from all Their
work which Elohim in creating had made. – The restoration of the kingdom of Heavens ,
in the sanctification of the Sabbath day. He rested on that day, and took a
complacency in His creatures, and then sanctified it, and appointed us on that
day, to rest and take a complacency in the Creator; and his rest is, in the
fourth commandment, made a reason for ours, after six days’ of labor.
The solemn observance of
one day in seven, as a day of holy rest and holy work, to YAH’s honor, is the
indispensable duty of all those to whom EL YAHVEH has revealed His Holy
Sabbaths.
The way of Sabbath-sanctification
is the good old way, Jer. 6:16. Sabbaths are as ancient as the world; and I see
no reason to doubt that the Sabbath, being now instituted in innocence, was
religiously observed by the Children of Light throughout the patriarchal age.
The Sabbath of YAHVEH is
truly honorable, and we have reason to honor it, honor it for the sake of its
antiquity, its great Author, the sanctification of the first Sabbath by the
Holy ELOHIM HIMSELF, and by our first parents in innocence, in obedience to
HIM.
The Sabbath day is a
blessed day, for YAHVEH blessed it, and that which he blesses is blessed
indeed. YAHVEH has put an honor upon it, has appointed us, on that day, to
bless him, and has promised, on that day, to meet us and bless us.
The Sabbath day is a holy
day, for the Elohim has sanctified it. They has separated and distinguished it
from the rest of the days of the week, and They has consecrated it and set it
apart to himself and his own service and honor.
By celebrating the rest
of Elohim the true sons of light, publicly display their desire to finishing
the work of our redemption, we may and ought to act faithful upon this original
institution of the Sabbath day, and to commemorate the purpose of creation,
which is to create perfect sons for the Kingdom. We honor the great Creator, by
fulfilling the purpose of our creation, who is therefore worthy to receive, on
that day, blessing, and honor, and praise, from all religious assemblies.
Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Yisrael, saying,
Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between ME and you
throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am EL YAHVEH that doth
sanctify you. 14 Ye shall keep the sabbath
therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be
put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off
from among his people. IT IS A SIGN! Between YAHVEH and I.
The 7th day of
Creation
On
the 7th day, the Sabbath is introduced with the declaration that the
Heavens and the earth were completed, as El Yahushua stand before the Mighty
Ones in their final intended state of harmonious perfection, which is a far cry
from the rebellious surroundings which was created by the Evil one. Adam was
place in the Garden to multiply and produce children of Light, to minister or
to bring the garden to maturity, by tilling the soil and working the land. Like
the servants who were given various talents, the one who was punished was the
one who did not show a profit.
Yahushua
has fulfilled the mandate and has brought many sons to perfection. Where the 1st
Adam failed the 2nd Adam Yahushua has succeeded. The 2nd
Adam, Yahushua the High priest of our salvation will rule and reign for a
thousand years, which is known as the millennium rule, while the Evil one will
be bound up for a thousand years. The Sabbath day is a prophetic indicator of
the Messiyah’s reign.
From
an individual point of view, the Sabbath rest symbolizes for us the coming into
the fullness off our Master and Savior El Yahushua HaMashiach, thereby
achieving perfection. He became the living Torah, an earthly manifestation of
the Word or the living Word dwelling in an earthly body, and learning obedience
through the things that He experience in the flesh.
Why
is He the Living Word? Every thing in His life was done according to the Word,
the Constitution of the Heavenly
Kingdom . He had to be
born on the 15th day of the Seventh Month, He had to be circumcised
eight days later, Leviticus 23:33-36.
He
had to die on the 14th Day of the 1st month, He had to
arise from the dead 3 day and 3 nights later, He had to ascend into Heavens 7
days before Pentecost to be anointed our High Priest Exodus 29:35-27. These are
only some of the Scripture He fulfilled. No other human can lay claim to this
most remarkable of spiritual achievement.
The
Mighty Ones blessed the Sabbath with an abundant goodness, for on it there is a
renewal of physical procreative strength, and also there is a renewal of
physical strength, and an even greater capacity to reason and exercise the
intellect. The Mighty Ones sanctified it that no work was to be done on it. The
plain meaning of the verse is that the Sabbath is sanctified above the normal
course of physical activity in this world. Ordinarily, man must work to earn
their livelihood, but not on the Sabbath for it is forbidden.
When
man keep the Shabbat in faith in Messiyah, we are saying that we have faith in
the provision that the CREATOR has made for sinfull man to come into HIS rest
or perfection.
Even
though no work was permitted on the Sabbath, yet there were still un-going
processes of creation. All the living creatures of creation were given the
ability to reproduce themselves each according to its own species. Therefore,
we are all allowed to improve ourselves spiritually on the Sabbath. We learnt
that on the 5th and 6th day of creation the plants and
animals were given the right to be fruitful. There will come a time when the physical
world will cease to be, and only the spiritual world will exist. Spiritual
growth or spiritual development will be the main activity in the Kingdom to
come, where the children of Light will shine like the stars in the heavens.
Now
that we have seen the general purpose of the Creation story, from Genesis 2:4
on we will get into the specifics. The specifics has to do with man and
creation, the Garden of Eden; man in the Garden; the companion for Adam and the
Serpent’s enticement. Also why the sinners are punished, and man’s expulsion
from the Garden. We will look at Cain and Abel, and the descendants of Cain, at
Lamech’s plea, and the genealogy of mankind which will bring us to the prelude
to the flood.
Man and
Creation
Gen 2:4 These are the
births of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that יהוה Elohim made earth and heavens. – Earth was a part of the Kingdom of Heaven before man was place here. There
was a war in Heaven and the earth became out of order. That is why there was
darkness on the earth before the recreation story. The 1st time the true name of YAHVEH the
Meleck of the Mighty Ones was made known is in Genesis 2:4. EL YAHVEH is His
Name.
This is the 1st
mention in the Torah of the Hebrew Name יהוה, which denotes YAHVEH of all the Mighty Ones. He created the
world in conjunction with the counsel of the other Mighty Ones,’ Let US make
man in Our own image’ and HE inscribed in man HIS attribute of mercy, to teach
that HE would temper HIS justice with compassion towards man. The Name יהוה
also signifies the eternity of EL
YAHVEH, because its letters are also those of the words hyhyw
hwh hyh, “He was, He
is, and He will be”. Everything in
the universe must have a moment when it came into existence, but EL YAHVEH is
infinite; He transcends time and space. Therefore, יהוה (YAHVEH) is the proper name for the King of all the
Mighty Ones.
Gen 2:5 Now no shrub of the field was yet on the earth,
and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for יהוה Elohim had not
sent rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground, - We read in this
verse that there was a time on earth when there was no plant life, there were
no rain also. Much like the surface of the other heavenly bodies. Why was
water, and life place on earth? There was no human life on earth at the time
before the first day of Creation.
Planet earth was created for the sole purpose of producing a Messiyah. One
who would fulfilled the commandments perfectly and sit at the Right Hand of our
Father. There was no need for the physical manifestation of shrub or herbs on
the earth, the only tree was the Tree of life, there was no other false
doctrine the entire Universe was under one doctrine, the Torah, the Living
Word.
There was no need for Father YAHVEH to send the Torah, for the ministry of
the Holy Spirit, the Mist that came up from the earth was all that was require.
Gen 2:6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the
entire surface of the ground. – This verse describe the preliminary steps
of Adam’s creation: The Elohim causes the deep to rise, forming a mist or
low-flying cloud filled with water or “Holy Spirit” to moister the dust, from
which Adam the flesh was created. It is similar to a kneader who first pours in
water and then he kneads the dough. Here we have water and soil, the spirit and
the flesh. This flesh was not the same flesh as he have today. That was the
flesh that Adam had before we fell.
Gen 2:7 And יהוה Elohim formed the man out of dust
from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils breath of life. And the man
became a living being. – The Elohim made man out of the both the lower earthly
and the upper heavenly matter: his body from the dust of the lower world and
his soul from the spirit the upper world.
When man speaks, he speaks from within
himself, indicating that man’s words should be a part of Elohim’s essence, as
it were.
This soul made man a living being, which can
be defines as a speaking spirit. This life, this position is only unique to man
and which only Elohim could create, by blowing into him. This is what elevates
man above the animals; the ability and responsibility to used his intelligence
to become like Messiyah, like the Elohim.
Gen 2:8 And יהוה Elohim planted a garden in Ěḏen, to the east, and there He put the man whom He had formed. - יהוה establish a garden on earth and place Adam in it that men may
again call on HIS Holy Name of YAHVEH. This garden was place in Eden . IHVH ALHIM planted
that is the nine letters of the perfect masculine and feminine name, so that
they may be a garden, a place where the children of light may be establish. Man
“Adam Reshon” was a complete creature, a complete opposite to the sons of
darkness the land of Nod. יהוה IHVH yod,
He, Vau, He, is the expressed nature of the perfect man. י represent the male and ו female, יהו represent
the joining of the male and female nature in Elohim. This joining create the
regenerative power by which the Kingdom of the Heavens is restored.
Formed man outside of the garden so that he
could see the world of thorns and thistles; only then EL YAHVEH led man into
the Garden, an indicator of the Perfect Will of the Creator. This may have been
done to show Adam the alternative before he was given the first Commandment.
Gen 2:9 And out of the
ground יהוה Elohim made every tree grow that is pleasant to the
sight and good for food, with the tree of life in the midst of the garden and
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. - At this point in our study we will focus on the events that led to
the emergence of Man.
Since this narrative led to the incident of the Tree of Life and the Tree of
Knowledge, it begins by describing how plant life came about. EL YAHVEH had not
sent rain upon the earth because there were no man to work the soil, and no one
to recognize the utility of the “Torah” rain.
The creation of plants
signifies that YAHVEH recognizes and provides the basic needs of man; and as
man carry out his spiritual responsibilities it would then yield to man its
fruit. Our Heavenly Father will not send rain if no one is there to work the
land. The same is true with the Word, unless there is an ox, or a minister to
work the land, there will be no crops. This is one of the principles of the
Kingdom. He does not cast His Words among swine. This is why we have so must
contaminated bibles today.
The tree of the knowledge
of good and evil, is our ability to choose for our self what we think is right
and what we think is wrong. Adam was told do not eat or do not learn, or do not
acquire the right or ability to choose for yourselves.
The various religion in existence
today is a result of human trying to choose for our selves what we think is
right and what is wrong.
At creation the natural
impulse of Adam was to do good. Although they knew in the abstrace that there
was such a thing as sin, it was not something that they desired. Now by eating
of the tree, which embodied a mixture of good and evi, they brought the evil
inclination into themselves and made it apart of their diminish nature.
Once they ate from the
tree, they change the nature of man, they change the programming of man. From
that moment on, Man was born with both the Good and the evil inclination, embodied
in his Ego, such as: whoring, uncleanness, indecency, adultery. idolatry, drug sorcery, hatred, quarrels, jealousies,
fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, murders, and drunkenness,
As Adam and
Eve were originally created to do good, now through study, and self discipline,
man must curb his new nature and desires, and inculcate into himself a desire
for good and a revulsion for evil.
Gen 2:10 And a river went
out of Ěḏen to water the garden, and from
there it divided and became four riverheads. – The whole purpose of the Garden was to be a source of
Water for the whole world, much like the Torah should have flow from Yisrael,
to the world. The river, the Torah was divided into four, flowing into the four
corners of the world, by Adam and his sons, if they had remained pure.
The
Torah says in Genesis 2:10 that a single source of water flowed from the Garden
and branched into four rivers to water the four corners of the Earth. This is
symbolic of the Rock in the wilderness where the water of life flowed from to
give water to the Children of Yisrael. The river either watered the Tree of
Life in us or the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. This is the free
choice we are all given.
The four rivers are
similar to the four cups of wine at Passover, represent four stage to our
spiritual development. The first cup – I shall take
you out, justification, bethroal. EL YAHVEH would remove the Hebrew people by a
Mighty Hand from the burden of slavery to sin, even before they were permitted
to leave the country and while they were still the chattels of Egypt .
The slavery end in Tishrei, but they did not leave Egypt until six months later.
The second cup – I shall
rescue you, Deliverance. EL YAHVEH would take Egypt out of the Hebrew people by
the process of Deliverance. The splitting of the Red Sea, when EL YAHVEH
outstretch arm with great judgment crushed Egypt ’s power over the Children of
Yisrael for good.
The third cup – I shall redeem
you, accept, pay the bride price. The journey to Mt Sinai, the giving of the
Torah and the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Our Sanctification process.
The forth Cup – I shall take
you, marriage feast of the lamb. EL YAHVEH took the Children of Yisrael as HIS
people the marrage feast of the Lamb, when the children of Yisrael enter the
Land. That was the climax, the purpose, of the exodus.
Gen 2:11 The name of the
first is Pishon, it is the one surrounding the entire land of Ḥawilah ,
where there is gold. –
The river of justification, exposed the gold, that after it is gathered it must
be sanctified or made pure.
Gen 2:12 And the gold of
that land is good. Bdellium is there, and the shoham stone. –
Gen 2:13 And the name of the second river is Giḥon, it is the one
surrounding the entire land
of Kush . – the second river was Deliverance. The
deliverance of the Kushite people from captivity, identify as the land of
Ethiopia.
Gen 2:14 And the name of
the third river is Ḥiddeqel, it is the one which goes toward the east the rivers of Ashshur. And the fourth river is
the Euphrates . - The third river was redemption. The redemption of
the Semitic people, the Assyrian.
The forth river was the
Acceptance. Adam was place in the Garden to work and to guard it. Since the
Torah mentioned the river above, that the tree of the garden grew on their own
accord and the river is obviously there to watered the plants.
Adam
was to work the garden through the Study of Torah and the performance of the
positive commandments, and to guard it by refraining from forbidden activities.
This means that man’s task
in this world is to serve YAHVEH. If he does that, then his material needs will
be satisfied, as Adam’s every need was meet while he was obedient.
Gen 2:15 And יהוה Elohim took the man and put him in
the garden of Ěḏen to work it and to
guard it. – Adam job was to work or till and to guard, much like it is the Mighty
Hand of YAHVEH job is to teach the Good New of the Torah and to safe guard the
integrity of Torah.
Gen 2:16
And יהוה Elohim commanded
the man, saying, “Eat of every tree of the garden, - When a command is given, it is usually
given by EL “יהוה” YAHVEH, not the
Elohim.
Gen 2:17 but do
not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you
eat of it you shall certainly die.” – On the day the evil impulses of the fruit of
the flesh was turn on in man, it made it almost impossible for man to attain
the goal of spiritual perfection. That is why out of the countless billions of
souls born to women, only one Man have attained this loft state of Perfection.
That Man is our Messiyah.
Since Adam lived to be 930 years, it is clear that he did not die as soon
as he ate the fruit. Rather, he would become subject to death, whereas if he
had never sinned, his holiness would have kept him alive forever.
Again, scripture says that one day is like a thousand year, and Adam only
lived 930 years 70 years short of 1000 or one day. So Adam did die the day he
eat of the tree of good and evil.
On
the 5th day the Mighty Ones caused trees to sprout from the ground;
every tree that was pleasing to the sight and it was good for food. The Mighty Ones thought it necessary to place
the Tree of Life and the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of
the dwelling of Adam and Eve. Wherever we live as humans it will be a source to
test us.
Even
in Paradise we will find some form of testing.
By placing these two trees in the middle, He made sure that they could not be
miss it. It is obvious that both of the inhabitants of the Garden had to come
across it in their every day walk.
From
a spiritual point of view, we also must choose between eating of the Tree of
Life, in an exclusive and totally obedient walk with EL YAHVEH or compromise
our walk by choosing what we want to do. The Tree of Life presents to us one
choice, but the Tree of Good and Evil present to us two choices. However, in
the Kingdom there is no democracy!
Man
was essential perfect at creation, no improvements were requiring. However the
evil-one trick her into thinking that there were something more to gain. If you
eat of this tree you will become like EL YAHVEH, knowing good from evil. Our
physical and spiritual development must be solely according to the Creator
specification.
From
that time in history, when Adam fell into sin, everyone after that was born
with a sin nature; unlike Adam who was created as a full-grown man. He was now born with a modified version of
himself, and with the evil inclinations, such as greed, selfishness, and lust
for whatever suits his developing appetites. But through study, thought, and
self-discipline, he may learn to curb his sinful nature and desires, and
inculcate into himself a desire for good and revulsion for evil.
Verse 18 – 25 describe a companion for Adam. This passage
does not describe a new creation, it merely elaborates upon the making of the
creatures in 1:25.
EL YAHVEH knew that Adam would
need a companion. Her purpose was not for reproduction purposes, for Adam had
been created with that function in himself.
YAHVEH wanted Adam to have
a companion or support in ministry, providing him with the challenges of a good
union.
As
the spirit the man is joined to the flesh the woman. Our Creator was giving
Adam an example of the full plan of salvation. He wanted to take the desire of
the flesh out of the body. He wanted to illustrate to Adam that he needed
something to overcome, something important to him, a formidable opponent, as
our flesh is to us today.
Adam named his helper Ishah “woman” because she was taken
from Ish “man”. The name comes from eish or fire, because man is unique among
all living beings in characteristic symbolized by fire: verse and enthusiasm,
lust and initiative.
These character enable man to achieve
dominance, thought the attaining wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
But
the same fire can cause the mass destruction that has marred humanity since
creation. Through control and direction, that fire inside every man can create
a spiritual Kingdom that surpassed the Angels. Just look at the hair on the
back of every male, it grows in the shape of the universe.
The presence of godliness in human beings is expressed by the
letter that are added to their names: a y in the
name cya and a h in the
name hca. Those two letters spell
the Divine Name hy, because YAHVEH must be
glorified in the union of both man and woman.
If YHVEH is not allowed in the union, they are left with a
mere ca, a distructive fire, that will not only harm
themselves but other around them.
Gen 2:18 And יהוה Elohim said, “It is not good for the man to be alone,
I am going to make a helper for him, as his counterpart.” – EL YAHVEH decided
what the best source of action needed to produce the desired effect in us.
Woman, Eve was created to be Adam help mate, not his boss. If the man is worthy
she will be an helper, if he is unworthy, she will be against him.
Gen 2:19 And from the ground
יהוה Elohim formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens, and
brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man
called each living creature, that was its name. - An instance of the creatures’
subjection to man, and his dominion over them: Every beast of the field and
every fowl of the air YAHVEH brought to Adam, either by the ministry of
angels, or by a special instinct, directing them to come to man as their
master, teaching the ox to know his owner.
Therefore, YAHVEH gave man
authority of the fair estate he had granted him, and put him in possession of
his dominion over the creatures. YAHVEH brought them to him, that HE might name
them, and so might give, proof of HIS
knowledge, as a creature endued with the faculties both of reason and speech,
and so taught more than the beasts of the earth and made wiser than the
fowls of the heaven, Job 35:11.
A proof of his power. It
is an act of authority to impose names (Dan. 1:7), and of subjection to receive
them. The inferior creatures did now, as it were, do homage to their prince at
his inauguration, and swear fealty and allegiance to him. If Adam had continued
faithful to his Elohim, we may suppose the creatures themselves would so well
have known and remembered the names Adam now gave them as to have come at his
call, at any time, and answered to their names.
YAHVEH gave names to the
day and night, to the firmament, to the earth, and to the sea; and he calleth
the stars by their names, to show that he is the supreme Master of these.
But HE gave Adam permission to name the beasts and fowls, as their subordinate
lord; for, having made him in his own image, he thus put some of his honor upon
him.
Gen 2:20 So the man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the heavens,
and to every beast of the field. But for the man there was not found a helper
for him, as his counterpart. – In the Torah’s
cocept, a name is not simply a convention, but it reflect the nature of each
creature and its role in the total scheme of the universe. As we find over and
over in Torah, the name of a person had a profound significance that expressed
their mission. Adam had the power to recognize the essence of every animal and
name it accordingly. Having this insight into every creature, he realized that
none of them corresponded to his essence, socially and intellectually.
Gen 2:21 So יהוה Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall on
the man, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in
its place. - The making of the woman, to be a help-meet for Adam.
This was done upon the sixth day, as was also the placing of Adam in paradise,
though it was mentioned after an account of the seventh day’s rest; but what
was said in general (ch. 1:27), that YAHVEH made man male and female, is more
distinctly related here.
That Adam was first
formed, then Eve (1 Tim. 2:13), and she was made of the man, and for the man (1
Co. 11:8, 9), all which are urged there as reasons for the humility, modesty,
silence, and submissiveness, of that sex in general, and particularly the
subjection and reverence which wives owe to their own husbands.
Yet man being made last
of the creatures, as the best and most excellent of all, Eve’s being made after
Adam, and out of him, puts an honor upon that sex, as the glory of the man, 1 Co. 11:7. If man is the head, she is the body, a body to
her husband, the body of the visible creation.
That Adam slept while his
wife was being made, that no room might be left to imagine that he had herein directed
the Spirit of YAHVEH, or been his counselor, Isa. 40:13. He had been made
sensible of his want of a meet help; but, YAHVEH having undertaken to provide
him one, he does not afflict himself with any care about it, but lies down and
sleeps sweetly, as one that had cast all his care on YAHVEH, with a cheerful
resignation of himself and all his affairs to his Maker’s will and wisdom. YAHVEH
- YIREH, let YAHVEH provide when and whom he pleases. If we graciously rest in YAHVEH,
YAHVEH will graciously work for us and work all for good.
That YAHVEH caused a
sleep to fall on Adam, and made it a deep sleep, that so the opening of his
side might be no grievance to him; while he knows no sin, YAHVEH will take care
he shall feel no pain. When YAHVEH, by his providence, does that to his people
which is grievous to flesh and blood, he not only consults their happiness in
the issue, but by his grace he can so quiet and compose their spirits as to
make them easy under the sharpest operations.
That the woman was made
of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over
him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be
beside him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.
Adam lost a rib, and without any diminution to his strength or comeliness (for,
doubtless, the flesh was closed without a scar); but in lieu thereof he had a
help meet for him, which abundantly made up his loss: what YAHVEH takes away
from his people HE will one way or other, restore with advantage.
In this (as in many other
things) Adam was a figure of Him that was to come; for out of the side of
Messiyah, the second Adam, flow blood and water the ingredient that would
purify humanity. Out of Adam side came Eve the one he should bring to maturity,
when he slept the sleep, the deep sleep, in order to which his side was opened,
and there came out blood and water, blood to protect Yisrael the wife and water
to remove her transgression. See Eph. 5:25, 26.
Gen 2:22 And the rib which יהוה Elohim had taken from the man He made into a woman, and He brought her to
the man. – Man is both spirit and flesh. Notice
that the women was not taken out of mans head, but his side, his flesh. The
purpose of Creation is to take the influence of the flesh out of man. Man was
given a responsibility to take care of the garden and Eve was to help him. Man
was to be the head while the women was to be the body which support the head.
The head should never ill-treat the body, if he want it to support him.
Gen 2:23 And the man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This
one is called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of man.”- Adam made it clear in this verse that
Eve was his flesh and bones, it never says she was his head. That wife that is of YAH’s making by special grace,
and of YAH’s bringing by special providence, is likely to prove a help-meet for
a man.
From YAHVEH, as his Father, Adam received her: "This
is now bone of my bone. Adam did not say she is the brain of my brain or
spirit of my spirit, but flesh of my flesh. Now I have some one to work with,
and which all the creatures could not help Adam to fulfilled the great commission.
Adam could not have
brought any of the Animals to perfection, even though he could communicate with
them. Just ask the serpent whom they communicate with. The gift of a woman is
for both of them to fulfill YAHVEH purpose together. As sinful man perfection
can only be achieve when a man and a woman joined together.
There are characteristic
that a man and a woman individually posses that must be brought together under
the influence of Torah and the Holy Spirit that are essential for our spiritual
development. It is called our ego.
If we look at the
Menorah, the six branches are all spoken of in Proverbs as “Her” while the main
stem the Spirit of YAHVEH is the only masculine spirit. The six stem of the
Menorah is like six ribs, growing or taken out of the side of the man.
Spirit of YAHVEH “Him”
|
Spirit of understanding ‘Her’ The ribs
|
Proverbs 1:20
Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.
21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of
the gates in the city She speaks her words:
2: 2 So
that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her
as silver,
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in YAHVEH with all your heart, And lean not on your own
understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He
shall direct your paths. In Proverbs 3:5 The Spirit of YAHVEH is call Him and
He.
The Menorah seen
above depict a perfect man, out of the main stem the man came woman, the spirit
of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and authority, the spirit of
knowledge and the fear of YAHVEH.
It does not mean
that women are wiser than men, for each of the six branches came out of the
main. Man must help the woman develop these characteristic. Adam did not fulfill
this task.
Probably it was revealed
to Adam in a vision, when he was asleep, that this lovely creature, now presented
to him, was a piece of himself in ministry, and was to be his companion and the
partner in covenant. Hence some have fetched an argument to prove that
glorified saints in the heavenly paradise shall know one another. Further, in
token of his acceptance of her, he gave her a name, not peculiar to her, but
common to her sex: She shall be called woman, Isha, a she-man,
differing from man in sex only, and in nature, made of man, and joined to man.
Gen 2:24 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave to his
wife, and they shall become one flesh. – The whole purpose
of life is for godly people to have godly children. Children of ungodly people
will only end up as fire wood in the end. Godly children will eventually end up
as sons of YAH. Our species can only survive when we have children, this can
only be done when man and a woman joined together. It is never Adam and Steve
or Meva and Eve, it is Adam and Eve.
Any time we come together in relationship a day when I really do not feel like
it, or in prayer, we reveal more light. Even when we gather on special occasion
such as Passover, Pentecost, Rosh Hshanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, we generate
a Light of happiness. But we can reveal more light when the Opponent is
stronger, when life is dark and difficult. It is more important than ever for
me to go to the Assembly when I don’t feel like going.
Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, yet they were not ashamed. – The Torah mentioned this as an indication of the purity
of Adam and Eve. People are ashamed of their nakedness because they associate
vileness and lust with their private parts.
But not Adam and eve, they use all their organs exclusively to do YAHVEH’S
Will, not for their own personal desires. To them, even cohabitation was as
innocent as eating and drinking, so they had no reason to cover their body. Oh,
by the way, who marry Addam and Eve.
Man in the
Garden
We
learn that it was with the cooperation of the other Mighty Ones that Creation
was done. However, here we see in
Genesis 2:15-18 that it was YAHVEH Himself who placed man in the Garden, and
assigned to him his responsibility, which was to work and guard it. In verse 16
we hear the 1st command given by EL YAHVEH Himself, “of
every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the Tree of Knowledge of
Good and Evil, you must not eat thereof; for on the day you eat of it, you
shall surely die.” It was not the other
Mighty Ones who gave the command, even though they were in agreement. It was
the King Himself who spoke. If He is King in our lives then He MUST Be OBEYED!
On
that day, the evil impulses of the Flesh began: Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders,
drunkenness, and revellings: thereby the fruits of the flesh will become
prevalent in the life of those who eat of it. Thereby making it impossible for
any man to attain the goal of complete spirituality by himself, without a
Redeemer as long as he is on this earth.
Chapter 3
The
serpent’s enticement
The
Torah did not say how much time elapsed between the Creation of man and his
expulsion from the Garden. We do know that the fall was not just sudden. Sin
always follows a path; first it is in the mind that our thought act out what we
are thinking. We do know that in the dialog with the Serpent that Eve did not
quote the Torah as Yahushua did, but she quoted her version of the Truth. We
know that there was a command by the King, and it must be followed. We also
know that when the Serpent questioned her, that she did not repeat what the
King said. She added to the Word, because Eve said that EL YAHVEH had said they
must not eat nor shall she touch it.
Gen 3:1 And the serpent was more crafty than any
beast of the field which יהוה had made, and he said to the woman,
“Is it true that יהוה has said, ‘Do not eat of every tree
of the garden’?”- Did יהוה say! The first thing the evil-one will do is to
distort Torah. Is it possible that יהוה forbid you to eat of
any of the trees? Why would He create a tree if you were not to eat from it.
Why would He create them if they were not to be enjoyed?
This is a classic ploy of the Evil inclination. Things were made for man’s
pleasure, it is therefore foolish to believe that YAH could have command us not
to enjoy it.
Gen 3:2 And the woman
said to the serpent, “We are to eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, - Eve seem to be the spoke person for
Adam, she used the word we. She did not say I am not allowed! Was Adam in her
present when she made that comment. Too often when the women become the
spokeman of the family these things will happen to us. That why the world spend
so much time focusing on women in our society. I wonder why?
Gen 3:3 but of the fruit
of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat
of it, nor touch it, lest you die.’ ”- “Nor touch it” YAHVEH had
commanded them only not to eat, but Eve added to the prohibition. The outcome
of her doing so was to diminish the Commandment. The serpent pushed her against
the tree and said: “just as you did not die from touching it, so you will not
die from eating it!”
Thus, the serpent convinced her that
YAH’S death threat was merely to intimidate them not to eat, but that they
would not truly die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, “You shall certainly
not die”. - Eve lost the argument
when she added that she was not supposed to touch the Tree. Torah tells us that
we must not take away from Torah, nor should we add to Torah. Eve was now
operating in a religious state of mixed belief. Adam’s responsibility was to
guard the garden and this includes the things that we say about the Creator.
Job 42:7 My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two
friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant
Job hath. I believe if Eve had quoted the right Scripture to the Serpent, the
Spirit of the word would have protected her from the Serpent. She did not quote
the correct Word; therefore the spirit of her word had no authority in it. When
Yahushua spoke He spoke with Authority, by not speaking His own Words, but only
the Words of Our Father.
What
we see in this verse is the first lie “You shall certainly not die.” Some statement we make may be inaccurate, it does
not make it a lie. For example when Jacob said he was Essa, it was not a lie. A
lie is always against what the Written Word says, a lying spirit is always
against the Word. When the church says that the Law was nail to the cross, it
comes from a lying spirit.
Gen 3:5 “For יהוה
knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be
like יהוה,
knowing good and evil.”-
A lying spirit will always used the words of those who try to rationalize the
Torah away. The Lying will used those who convey and interpret the Law of YAHVEH
are motivated by a selfish desire to consolidate power in themselves. The
serpent “YAH did not prohibit this tree out of any concern for your lives, but
because He is aware that by eating from it you will attain extra wisdom, and
become like יהוה. Then you will be
independent of Him.”
Is it not the
same tools the evil-one used today. “Women be independent of Men.”
Gen 3:6 And the woman saw
that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree
desirable to make one wise, and she took of its fruit and ate. And she also
gave to her husband with her, and he ate. - The Lying Spirit did not explicitly tell the woman to eat
the fruit, but he had enveloped her in his spell. She looks on the tree with a
new longing, its fruit was good to eat, a delight to the eyes, and it would
give her wisdom.
Then she
brought it to Adam and repeated everything the Lying Spirit had told her. The
flesh is always a means by which the Lying spirit will get to influence the
Spirit within us.
Eve was not
awareness of the existence of the negative force that was call Satan, or the
desire to receive for Self Alone. Eve came into this beautiful world with the
understanding that it was all good: Adam was good, Eve was good, the animal was
good, and the Trees were all good. When the Opponent came to her in the form of
the snake, she had no idea that he was trying to trick her.
If Eve had
know the Opponent existed of course she would have taken time to think through
what his words meant and would have figure out that they make no sense.
However, she had no such knowledge.
This story in
Beresheet awaken within us an appreciation of a basic lesson: There is an
Opponent in this world, and we must be aware of him. If Eve had had possessed
that one piece of information, we all would not be here, struggling to bring
back light into our lives.
There are two
type of people in the world: there are good people, those who make some
mistake, but in general are kind and loving; and there are also those who have
fallen, who have done real danger. Who is more important? A good person or one
who has fallen? It is those who have fallen, those who have harm themselves,
who are more important. An example the prodical son! The story was not about
the son who staid home and was good, it was about the one who squander his time
and wealth. It is about those who the Opponent is strong have a chance to bring
about a more lasting transformation. Those who have fallen as well as those who
have performed selfless acts of kindness are the ones to draw more Divine
light.
The Light
that we received is dependent on the difficulty of our work. If the Opponent
were weaker, none of us would have a chance to contribute to the ultimate
removal of pain and suffering from our lives and the world. Not only is the
opponent necessary, but his importance is magnified by his strength. For where
is it that most light is revealed? It is where the opposition to the Light is
the greatest.
Gen 3:7 Then the eyes of
both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed
fig leaves together and made loin coverings for themselves. – “and they realized” The Lying Spirit
was right they had become enlightened people. But their first realization was
that they were naked! Man need not be ashamed of his body as long as it stands
in the service of YAHVEH. Otherwise he feels shame in his nakedness.
Whatever
reason EL YAHVEH the King of the Universe has, He is the King and He must be
obeyed. In order for us to be found faithful, we must be tested. There is
nothing wrong with being tested; the problem is failing the test. We overcome
these tests by the testimony of our mouth, and by the correct repeating of the written
commandment. EL YAHVEH commanded them not to eat, but Eve added to the prohibition.
Therefore, the outcome of her doing so, was to diminish the effectiveness of
the Commandment. The Serpent found a crack in her spiritual armor and took
advantage of it.
The
Serpent used another ploy familiar to those who try to rationalize the Torah
away. They contend that those who convey and interpret the Law of YAHVEH are
motivated by a selfish desire to consolidate power in themselves. The Serpent
contends that YAHVEH did not prohibit this Tree out of any concern for their
lives, but because He is aware that by eating from it they will attain extra
wisdom and become omniscient like Him. In our quest to reach perfection we
sometime try to do it the easy way. This was what the Serpent offered to Eve.
Why achieve it through obedience He reasoned, ‘just eat this little fruit’.
Then you will be like Him.
The
Serpent did not tell Eve to eat of the fruit, but He placed the desire for it
in her, she looked on the Tree with a new longing, its fruit was now good to
eat, a delight to the eyes, and it would give her wisdom. She brought it to
Adam and repeated every word that the Serpent had told her. He was at one with
her, and not blameless, he was not hopelessly tempted or unreasonably deceived
and therefore he was liable to be punished.
The Serpent was right, but they realized that when it was too late, now
they had become enlightened people. But
their first realization was that they were naked. Man was never ashamed of
their body as long as he was in right standing in the service of EL YAHVEH.
Just look today on how much effort is spent on personal appearance and we will
have a better understanding of our spiritual plight; the beginning of ‘the
lucrative Fig Leaf industry’ (the fashion industry)!
The spiritual capability that Adam was
created with is the same level and even higher that we are called to reach.
Adam and Eve were able to hear the Voice of their Creator, and they were able
to answer back. However, something strange took place, they did not answer for
the first time, and EL YAHVEH had to ask them where they were. When Yahushua
was going to the cross, He was terrified that He was going to break contact
with His Father whom He loved so much that He requested if it be possible to do
it any other way. Yahushua took the
sins of all men upon Himself when He went to the Cross. Scripture says that
darkness fell upon the land. That was the first time Yahushua was outside of
the Presence of His Father. Mark 15:34 And at the ninth
hour Yahushua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi,
Eloi, lama sabachthani? which
is, being interpreted, My EL, my EL, why hast thou forsaken me? At no time did EL YAHVEH ever ask Yahushua where He
was? He was in constant contact with His Father.
Gen 3:8 And they heard
the sound of יהוהwalking about in the garden in the cool of the day, and Aḏam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of יהוה among the trees
of the garden. – “they heard.” I do not believe that it was the first
time they heard the sound of YAHVEH coming. That must have been a wonderful
sound.
However, this time they were afraid because of their new nature. Adam and
Eve were no longer operating in the Spirit, but in the flesh. The flesh will
always have fear of the Spirit. Notice where they hid themselves among the
trees, they hid themselves among the various doctrine available to them; they
did not hide themselves by the Tree of Life. This action was prophetic of a
future time when humanity would hide themselves in religious activity. Many
believers today hide themselves in various religions, out of the fear of Father
YAHVEH.
Gen 3:9 And יהוה called unto Aḏam and said to him, “Where are you?”- How many of the
sons of man EL YAHVEH is calling to even as we speak. Sons whom HE sends to
earth, to learn HIS Commandments. Yet these sons are playing hooky from Torah.
Sons of man, where are you! This is the cry of the Good Words today, calling
the sons of man back to there true calling.
Gen 3:10 And he said, “I
heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid
myself.” - One of the meaning of YAH’S questioning
is not that HE inquired about Adam physical location, YAHVEH was seeking a Adam
that would have meet HIM at the usual spiritual level they we familiar with.
However, Adam and Eve were not there. Consider well how you have fallen from
the Spiritual heights, to where we are at presence. Man’s ego which should have
been the recipient of the positive influence of the Holy Spirit was now the recipient
of the negative influence of the flesh.
Gen 3:11 And He said, “Who
made you know that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I
commanded you that you should not eat?”- The first question was to get a confession out of Adam.
Of course Adam knew who sinned. What Adam should have done was to be a man and
step forward and say it is my fault. Yes I did eat of the tree you commanded us
not to eat off.
Gen 3:12 And the man said,
“The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate.”- Notice this verse did not used the
mans name, only his title. The man was supposed to be the head, he was
responsible. This message is to every man, we are responsible for our family
spiritual fortunes.
Yet, like
most men today, they blame the woman, instead of taking responsibility. This is
the action of those who operate in the flesh.
Gen 3:13 And יהוהsaid to the woman, “What is this you
have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” ‘What is this that
you have done?’ If Adam and Eve had only understand the gravity of their
action. How many millions of live that would be lost, due to the consequence of
their action. Adam do you know what you have done!
What she had done was abundantly clear. This rhetorical question was not to
elicit information, but to give Eve an opening to express remorse and to
repent. Since the commandment was given to Adam why was Eve punished? She was
punished for misleading Adam and causing him to sin; that was a greater sin
than her own eating.
Gen 3:14 And יהוה said to the
serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all livestock
and more than every beast of the field. On your belly you are to go, and eat
dust all the days of your life. – Although
this was surely a punishment for Adam and Eve sins, it should not be understood
as retaliation. By assimilating into
their nature an awareness of her flesh, they developed a stronger desire to the
attachment to the world below; Adam and Eve became unworthy to continue to live
in the world above the spiritual paradise of Eden ; consequently they were expelled. As a result, life changed in virtually every
conceivable manner. Physical and
spiritual death became possible, and the need to work to maintain
themselves. Then pain in general became
apart of life, and in child birth to the flesh “Eve”. The Serpent was punished
first then Eve, and lastly Adam.
Gen 3:15 “And I put enmity
between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed1. He
shall crush your head, and you shall crush His heel - The Serpent’s head would be crushed by Yahushua when He rose from the
dead, and the Serpent also would pierce Yahushua feet when He died on the
Stake.
A perpetual reproach is
here fastened upon that great enemy both to YAHVEH and man. Under the cover of
the serpent, he is here sentenced to be, Degraded and accursed of YAHVEH. It is
supposed that the sin which turned angels into devils was pride, which is here
justly punished by a great variety of mortifications couched under the mean
circumstances of a serpent crawling on his belly and licking the dust. How
art thou fallen, O Lucifer! He that would be above YAHVEH, and would head a
rebellion against him, is justly exposed here to contempt and lies to be
trodden on; a man’s pride will bring him low, and YAHVEH will humble those that
will not humble themselves.
Detested and abhorred of
all mankind. Even those that are really seduced into his interest yet profess a
hatred and abhorrence of him; and all that are born of YAHVEH make it their
constant care to keep themselves, that this wicked one touch them not, 1 Jn.
5:18. He is here condemned to a state of war and irreconcilable enmity.
Destroyed and ruined
at last by the great Redeemer, signified by the breaking of his head.
His subtle politics shall all be baffled, his usurped power shall be entirely
crushed, and he shall be for ever a captive to the injured honor of divine
sovereignty. By being told of this now he was tormented before the time.
A perpetual quarrel
is here commenced between the kingdom
of YAHVEH and the kingdom
of the devil among men; war is proclaimed between the seed of the woman and the
seed of the serpent. That war in heaven between Michael and the dragon began
now, Rev. 12:7. It is the fruit of this enmity,
That there is a
continual conflict between grace and corruption in the hearts of YAH’s people.
Satan, by their corruptions, assaults them, buffets them, sifts them, and seeks
to devour them; they, by the exercise of their graces, resist him, wrestle with
him, quench his fiery darts, and force him to flee from them. Heaven and hell
can never be reconciled, nor light and darkness; no more can Satan and a
sanctified soul, for these are contrary the one to the other.
That there is
likewise a continual struggle between the Spirit and the flesh in this world.
Those that love YAHVEH account those their enemies that hate him, Ps. 139:21,
22. And all the rage and malice of persecutors against the people of YAHVEH are
the fruit of this enmity, which will continue while there is a godly man on
this side heaven, and a wicked man on this side hell. Marvel not therefore
if the world hates you, 1 Jn. 3:13.
Gen 3:16 To the woman He
said, “I greatly increase your sorrow and your conception – bring forth
children in pain. And your desire is for your husband, and he does rule over
you.” - The punishment of Eve “the
Flesh” was that Adam “The spirit” shall rule over her. Her punishment was measure for measure. She
influenced her husband to eat at her desire; and now she should become
submitted to him.
So we see that as
one man was brought to sin by one woman, every single male must also prove that
he can overcome the influence of a female, in order for him to return to the
level of spirituality that Adam had in the Garden. To rule over her is not to boss her around,
but to resist her influence.
As we are both
spirit and flesh, it is the desire of our Creator, for the spirit to rule over
the flesh; yet we are told that there will be a struggle. The Spirit will war
against the flesh and the flesh will war against the spirit.
Gen 3:17 And to the man He
said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of
the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘Do not eat of it’: “Cursed is the
ground because of you, in toil you are to eat of it all the days of your life, - People always make choices in life,
and they are responsible for them. Failed to exercise his responsibility to
investigate what he was being offered and to realize that when he had to choose
between pleasing YAHVEH and pleasing the one he loves, hi first allegiance must
be the Creator.
Adam Part of
the punishment was that the produce for our sustenance would be the result of
hard work, making women to depend on the physically stronger male, and to
desire him or desire his position.
Obedience to this decree and to Torah restores her to her former and
proper status as the crown of her husband and pearl of his life.
When the spirit rules
over the flesh like Yahushua, our body will be transformed back to who Adam was
before the fall. By bringing the woman to maturity, the man is restoring or
recreating the created Adam in himself. The union of a man and woman at perfection
is the recreating of the original perfect Adam, before the fall.
Yahushua did not need a
woman for Him to be the perfect Man.
However since we have sinned, the establishing of the Spirit of Man, which is
the Spirit of יהוה, with the Spirit of Wisdom and
Understanding; the Spirit of Counsel and Authority; the Spirit of Knowledge and
the Fear of EL YAHVEH is the only way to achieve maturity.
To Adam it was said that
because he listened and follow the advice of Eve he was to be punished. People always make choices in life and they
are responsible for them. Adam failed to exercise his responsibility to investigate
what he was being offered, even if it is from his wife, and to realize that
when he had to choose between pleasing EL YAHVEH and pleasing the one who was
offering a momentarily enticing choice; his first allegiance had to be to EL
YAHVEH.
Every
male since must overcome this testing, not to succumbed to her voice which is
the voice of his flesh, without examining the content of her words. The phrase
‘for you are dust’, has the implication that death was not a curse, but a
natural consequence of man’s nature. The
Serpent was told that dust shall you eat all the days of your life. It is this nature of man that the Serpent
will feed on all the days of its life.
The Serpent has a parasitic relationship with man, in that it requires
the sinful nature of man to live by.
Gen 3:18 and the ground shall bring forth thorns
and thistles for you, and you shall eat the plants of the field. - Since man was
originally from the earth it is only natural that age and deterioration would
return him to his origin. If he had not
sinned, he would have continued in the spiritual condition he was created in
thereby fulfilling the requirement of Torah in his life; and bringing all
potential revelation to reality.
In this regard, it is
noteworthy that the bodies of outstanding righteous people that have been
exhumed were found not to have decomposed.
They had so exalted their behavior that their bodies had become holy and
no longer subject to the ravages of the earth.
That is why Moses never
lost any vigor even when he died at the age of 120 years old. This is also why Elijah and Enoch were able
to ascend to Heavens at the end of their lives.
Gen 3:19 “By the sweat of
your face you are to eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it
you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you return.” – Life will become a struggle even to the
end. Since man had chosen the physical influence over the spiritual, Psa 82:5 They do not know,
nor do they understand, They walk about in darkness. All the foundations of the
earth are shaken. 6 I, I said, “You are elohim, And all of you are sons of the
Most High. 7 “But as men you die, And fall as one of the heads. Man instead of live like gods, will die
like men, returning to the ground from where the flesh came.
Gen 3:20 And the man
called his wife’s name Ḥawwah, because she became the mother of all living. – The Torah resume the narrative of Adam
naming all creatures, which had been interrupted to teach that Adam perceived
that he was lacking a mate. The Hebrew
word “hwh”
living. Therefore, her name indicates that she is the mother of all living. It
is often said that man came from a woman. No! Woman came from Adam.
Gen 3:21 And יהוהmade coats of skin for the man and his wife and dressed them.- Man was original
cloth in the Glory of YAHVEH, now he was to be cloth in the product of their
animal nature.
Gen 3:22 And יהוה said, “See, the
man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out
his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever...” – YAHVEH grieved at the sin and its result, for Adam
had now made it impossible for YAHVEH to let Adam stayed in the Garden.
By eating from the tree of Knowledge, man had become like the Unique One
among us, meaning that he had become unique among the terrestrial ones, just as
YAHVEH is unique among the Mighty ones, for now man can discriminate between
good and bad, a quality not possessed by animals.
Because man has this unique ability to know good and evil, and his desire
for sensual gratification had become enhanced, there was a new danger.
If man acquire the capacity to live forever, he might well spend all his
days pursuing gratification, and cast away intellectual growth and good deeds.
He would fail to attain the spiritual blessing that YAH intend for him. If so,
Man had to be banished from Eden
so that he would not be able to eat from the Tree of Life and live forever.
Gen 3:23 so יהוה sent him of the garden of Aden to till the ground from which he was taken, - Adam was given a
job to do, and he did not accomplish his task because he listen to his wife
instead of been the leader he should have been.
Gen 3:24 and He drove the man out. And He placed
keruḇim at the east of the garden of Ěḏen, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the
tree of life. – The Garden of Eden is similar to the Holy of Holies; Eden is similar to the
Holy place and the rest of the world is like the Outer-court. Adam was driven
out of the exclusive club because of his disobedient to the commandment.
Chapter 4
In
accordance with the decree that Man must earn his sustenance through hard work.
Cain and Abel both sons of Adam and Eve; sons of both the spirit and the flesh
engage in different kinds of profession. They differ in their concept of how to
serve the Almighty; this led to jealousy and eventually to murder.
A classical
case of the war between the spirit and the flesh. Like the Patriarchs, Moses,
and David, Abel chose a profession that permitted him to spend his time in
spiritual solitude and contemplation. Cain however, chose an occupation that,
though essential, can lead its practitioners to gratified the flesh, worship nature
and enslave others to do the same.
Gen 4:1 And Aḏam knew Ḥawwah his wife, and she conceived and bore Qayin,
and said, “I have gained a man from יהוה.” – As partner with YAHVEH.
My husband and I were created by YAHVEH alone, but through the birth of Cain we
are partners with Him. This first born
man shall be my acquisition for the sake of YAHVEH, she dedicated her son to
become the servant of YAHVEH after she and Adam died. Cain was obviously the favorite
of Eve, according to her own words. He later end up as the son of the flesh.
Gen 4:2 And again, she gave birth to his brother Heḇel. And Heḇel became a keeper of
sheep, but Qayin became a tiller of the ground.- Because Abel
feared YAHVEH’S cursed against the ground, he turned to caring for sheep and
herbs. Although Man was still forbidden to eat meat, he was allowed to used
milk, butter, wool, and the skins of dead animals. Abel’s work consisted of
shearing the sheep and milking the cows.
Like the patriarchs, Moses, and David, Abel chose a profession that
permitted him to spend his time in solitude and contemplation of spiritual matters.
Cain, however, chooses an occupation that, though essential, can lead its
practitioner to worship nature and enslave others to do the hard work of the
fields.
Since man is both spiritual and flesh, they brought forth two sons. Cain
the son of the flesh and Abel the son of the Spirit. The eventual conflict
between them is a result of the two sphere of man.
Gen 4:3 And it came to be, in the course of time, that
Qayin brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to יהוה.- Can the fleshly son brought a offering of
the ground.
The contract devotions of
Cain and Abel. In the process of time, when they had made some
improvement in their respective callings; (Heb. At the end of days,
either at the end of the year, when they kept their feast of in-gathering or
perhaps an annual feast in remembrance of the fall, or at the end of the days
of the week, the seventh day, which was the Sabbath).
At some set time, Cain
and Abel brought to Adam, as the priest of the family, each of them an
offering to YAHVEH, for the doing of which we have reason to think there
was a divine appointment given to Adam, as a token of YAH’s favor to him and
his thoughts of love towards him and his, notwithstanding their apostasy.
YAHVEH would thus try
Adam’s faith in the promise and his obedience to the remedial law; he would
thus settle a correspondence again between heaven and earth, and give shadows
of good things to come.
That the religious
worship of YAHVEH is no novel invention, but an ancient institution. It is that
which was from the beginning (1 Jn. 1:1); it is the good old way,
Jer. 6:16.
The city of our EL is indeed that joyous city whose antiquity is of ancient days, Isa.
23:7. Truth got the start of error, and piety of profaneness.
That is a good thing for
children to be well taught when they are young, and trained up betimes in
religious services, that when they come to be capable of acting for themselves
they may, of their own accord, bring an offering to YAHVEH.
In this nurture
of YAHVEH parents must bring up their children, ch. 18:19; Eph. 6:4.
That we should every one
of us honor EL YAHVEH with what we have, according as he has prospered us.
According as their employments and possessions were, so they brought their
offering. See 1 Co. 16:1, 2.
Our merchandize and
our hire, whatever they are, must
be holiness to YAHVEH, Isa. 23:18. He must have his dues of it in works
of piety and charity, the support of religion and the relief of the poor. Thus
we must now bring our offering with an upright heart; and with such
sacrifices YAHVEH is well pleased.
That hypocrites and evil
doers may be found going as far as the best of YAH’s people in the external
services of religion. Cain the flesh brought an offering with Abel the Spirit;
nay, Cain’s offering is mentioned first, as if he were the more forward of the
two. A hypocrite may possibly hear as many sermons, say as many prayers, and
give as much alms, as a good Yisraelites, and yet, for want of sincerity, come
short of acceptance with YAHVEH. The Pharisee and the publican went to the
temple to pray, Lu. 18:10.
The different success of
their devotions. That which is to be aimed at in all acts of religion is YAH’s
acceptance: we speed well if we attain this, but in vain do we worship if we
miss of it, 2 Co. 5:9. Perhaps, to a
stander-by, the sacrifices of Cain and Abel would have seemed both alike good.
Adam accepted them both, but YAHVEH, who sees not as man sees, did not.
YAHVEH had respect to
Abel and to his offering, and showed his acceptance of it, probably by fire
from heaven; but to Cain and his offering he had not respect. We are
sure there was a good reason for this difference; the Governor of the world,
though an absolute sovereign, does not act arbitrarily in dispensing his smiles
and frowns.
Here was a difference in
the characters of the persons offering. Cain the flesh was a wicked man, led a
bad life, under the reigning power of the world and the flesh; and therefore
his sacrifice was an abomination to YAHVEH (Prov. 15:8), a vain
oblation, Isa. 1:13.
YAHVEH had no respect to
Cain himself, and therefore no respect to his offering, as the manner of the
expression intimates. But Abel the spirit was a righteous man; he is called righteous
Abel (Mt. 23:35); his heart was upright and his life was pious; he was one
of those whom YAH’s countenance beholds (Ps. 11:7) and whose prayer is
therefore his delight, Prov. 15:8. YAHVEH had respect to him as a holy man, and
therefore to his offering as a holy offering. The tree must be good, else the
fruit cannot be pleasing to the heart-searching YAHVEH.
Gen 4:4 And Heḇel also brought of the first-born of his flock and of their fat. And יהוה looked to Heḇel and his offering, - Abel the son of the spirit brought a offering the first
born of his flock. Abel knew because he was intone with the spirit. There was a difference in the offerings they
brought. It is expressly said (Heb. 11:4), Abel’s was a more excellent
sacrifice than Cain’s: either
In the nature of it.
Cain’s was only a sacrifice of acknowledgment offered to the Creator; the
meat-offerings of the fruit of the ground were no more, and, for aught I know,
they might be offered in innocence. But Abel brought a sacrifice of atonement,
the blood whereof was shed in order to remission, thereby owning himself a
sinner, deprecating YAH’s wrath, and imploring his favor in a Mediator. Or,
In the qualities of the
offering. Cain brought of the fruit of the ground, any thing that came
next to hand, what he had not occasion for himself or what was not marketable.
But Abel was curious in the choice of his offering: not the lame, nor the lean,
nor the refuse, but the firstlings of the flock, the best he had, and
the fat thereof, the best of those best.
Hence the Hebrew doctors
give it for a general rule that every thing that is for the name of the good
Elohim must be the goodliest and best. It is fit that he who is the first and
best should have the first and best of our time, strength, and service.
The great difference was
this, that Abel offered in faith, and Cain did not. There was a difference in
the principle upon which they went. Abel offered with an eye to YAH’s will as
his rule, and YAH’S glory as his end, and in dependence upon the promise of a
Redeemer; but Cain did what he did only for company’s sake, or to save his
credit, not in faith, and so it turned into sin to him.
Abel was a penitent
believer, like the publican that went away justified: Cain was unhumbled; his
confidence was within himself; he was like the Pharisee who glorified himself,
but was not so much as justified before YAHVEH.
Gen 4:5 but He did not look to Qayin and his offering. And
Qayin was very wroth, and his face fell. – One could present the argument that
Cain did not knew what to offer. How did Abel knew? How did any of them knew
that a offering was required of them. Was there any indication or commandment
given for the requirement of an offering.
Gen 4:6 And יהוה said to Qayin,
“Why are you wroth? And why is your face fallen? – when we eat of
the tree of the Knowledge of Good and
evil, The flesh will always be jealous of the spirit. For the ego of man was
affected by it. Man now have the ability to choose what is good for himself.
Instead of asking what did I do wrong and learn from his mistake. Qayin took
the wrong approchate and got jelous. When the emotions inside of a man changes
it is shown on the face of the person.
Gen 4:7 “If you do well,
is there not acceptance? And if you do not do well, sin1 is
crouching at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should master it.”
Footnote: 1Sin (transgression of the law) was already then known, as
we also read in 39:9. - The Torah
says that Abel “the spirit” brought an offering; the best of his flocks to EL
YAHVEH; however Cain “the flesh” brought his offering from the fruits of his
crops. Abel’s offering was accepted by EL
YAHVEH which annoyed Cain.
EL YAHVEH said to Cain,
why are you annoyed, and why has your countenance fallen? Surely if you improve yourself, you will be
forgiven. But, if you do not improve
yourself sin rest at the door. The desire of the flesh is to dominate you, yet
you can avoid it. What a wonderful prophecy and an assurance that the spirit
can avoid being dominated by the flesh.
Gen 4:8 And Qayin told
Heḇel his brother. And it came to be when they were in the field,
that Qayin rose up against Heḇel his brother and killed him. - Torah says that Cain spoke with his brother or
should we say Cain argued with Abel, and when they were in a secluded place
Abel “the flesh” killed his brother. This is also an indication of the goal of
the flesh is to kill its brother.
The spirit and the flesh
reside in one body, as two brothers. In this story we see from the bigining the
goal of the flesh and what the spirit must do to avoid this out come. We saw
earlier the deception of Adam “the spirit” by Eve “the flesh” and how Adam “the
flesh” did not safeguard the Covenant with EL YAHVEH by not eating of the Tree
of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Gen 4:9 And יהוה said to Qayin,
“Where is Heḇel your brother?” And he
said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s guard?” - It is
obvious that EL YAHVEH sees all things, so He asked Cain “the flesh” where his
brother, his other half. This was a chance for Abel to confess, he was given
the opportunity to repent.
But
Cain misunderstood and he took YAHVEH’s question to indicate ignorance about
the situation, so Cain denied any knowledge.
Denial will never lead to repentance; many today never reach maturity
because they never take responsibility for their actions, thinking it is always
the other person’s fault. Because taking
responsibility means to overcome; and overcoming is what this life is all
about.
Gen 4:10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice
of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. – Adan took humanity
to a new low. Cain took them even lower. Adam got tosh out of the Garden, Cain
had them thrown out of Eden .
Murder is the lowest level a human can fall. In just two generation man had
sunk to a new level of depravity.
The word for blood was in the plural tense, implying that Cain’s crime
against Abel was not limited to one person, but to all of Abel possible
descendent that was to be born after him. That could have been billions of
lives since creation.
Gen 4:11 “And now you are cursed from the earth, which
has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. - Cain was banished to a land where exiles wander,
where his father had been exiled when he was driven out of the Garden. The
eastern regions always forms a place of
refuge for murderers, for the cities of refuge that Moses later set aside were
also in the East. The flesh was banished to the east, it is at the eastern end
of the Tabernacle that the entrance was.
The Tabernacle the symbol
of restoration which will be given in detail in Exodus, is the path for the
flesh to relinquish its domination over the spirit. Sinners live in the
spiritual east while the redeemed one live in the spiritual west; as Abraham
move literally and spiritually from Ur in the east to Canaan in the west.
Gen 4:12 “If you till the ground, it shall no longer
yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”
– Cain
would always strive to find new areas to cultivate and he would never find
success. He would wonder aimlessly in search of more fertile land. He would
know no more peace than his brother’s blood.
He is cursed, separated
to all evil, laid under the wrath of YAHVEH, as it is revealed from the heavens
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, Rom. 1:18. Who knows the
extent and weight of a divine curse, how far it reaches, how deep it pierces?
YAH’s pronouncing a man
cursed makes him so; for those whom he curses are cursed indeed. The curse for
Adam’s disobedience terminated on the ground: Cursed is the ground for thy
sake; but that for Cain’s rebellion fell immediately upon himself: Thou
art cursed; for YAHVEH had mercy in store for Adam, but none for Cain. We
have all deserved this curse, and it is only in Messiyah that believers are
saved from it and inherit the blessing, Gal. 3:10, 13.
He is cursed from the
earth. Thence the cry came up to YAHVEH, thence the curse came up to Cain.
YAHVEH could have taken vengeance by an immediate stroke from heaven, by the
sword of an angel, or by a thunderbolt; but he chose to make the earth the
avenger of blood, to continue him upon the earth, and not immediately cut him off,
and yet to make even this is curse.
The earth is always near
us, we cannot fly from it; so that, if this is made the executioner of divine
wrath, our punishment is unavoidable: it is sin, that is, the punishment of
sin, lying at the door. Cain found his punishment where he chose his portion
and set his heart. Two things we expect from the earth, and by this curse both
are denied to Cain and taken from him: sustenance and settlement.
Sustenance out of the
earth is here withheld from him. It is a curse upon him in his enjoyments, and
particularly in his calling: When thou tillest the ground, it shall not
henceforth yield unto thee its strength. Every creature is to us what YAHVEH
makes it, a comfort or a cross, a blessing or a curse. If the earth yield not
her strength to us, we must therein acknowledge YAH’s righteousness; for we
have not yielded our strength to him.
The ground was cursed
before to Adam, but it was now doubly cursed to Cain. That part of it which
fell to his share, and of which he had the occupation, was made unfruitful and
uncomfortable to him by the blood of Abel. The wickedness of the wicked brings
a curse upon all they do and all they have (Deu. 28:15, etc.), and this curse
embitters all they have and disappoints them in all they do.
Settlement on the earth
is here denied him: A fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
By this he was condemned, to perpetual disgrace and reproach among men. It
should be ever looked upon as a scandalous thing to harbor him, converse with
him, or show him any countenance. And justly was a man that had divested
himself of all humanity abhorred and abandoned by all mankind, and made
infamous.
To perpetual disquietude
and horror in his own mind. His own guilty conscience should haunt him wherever
he went, and make him Magormissabib, a terror round about. What
rest can those find, what settlement, that carry their own disturbance with
them in their bosoms wherever they go?
Those fugitives that are
tossed, there is not a more restless fugitive upon earth than he that is
continually pursued by his own guilt, nor a viler vagabond than he that is at
the beck of his own lusts.
This was the sentence
passed upon Cain; and even in this there was mercy mixed, inasmuch as he was
not immediately cut off, but had space given him to repent; for EL YAHVEH is
long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish.
Gen 4:13 And Qayin said to
יהוה, “My punishment is too great to bear! – Cain in this
verse argued for mercy, finally acknowledging the gravity of his sin, but
arguing that the terms of his exile amounted to a death sentence. YAHVEH
accepted his plea.
Gen 4:14 “See, You have driven me from the
face of the ground today, and I am hidden from Your face. I shall be a fugitive
and a wanderer on the earth, and it shall be that anyone who finds me kills
me.”- He sees himself excluded from the
favor of his Elohim, He concludes that, being cursed, he is hidden from YAH’s
face, which is indeed the true nature of YAH’s curse; damned sinners find it
so, to whom it is said, Depart from me you cursed.
Those are cursed indeed
that are forever shut out from YAH’s love and care and from all hopes of his
grace. He sees himself expelled from all the comforts of this life, and
concludes that, being a fugitive, he is, in effect, driven out this day from
the face of the earth. As good have no place on earth as not have a settled
place. Better rest in the grave than not rest at all.
He sees himself
excommunicated by it, and cut off from the Assembly, and forbidden to attend on
public ordinances. His hands being full of blood, he must bring no more vain
oblations, Isa. 1:13, 15. Perhaps this he means when he complains that he
is driven out from the face of the earth; for being shut out of the
church, which none had yet deserted, he was hidden from YAH’s face,
being not admitted to come with the sons of YAHVEH to present himself before
the King.
He seen himself exposed
by it to the hatred and ill-will of all mankind: It shall come to pass that
every one that finds me shall slay me. Wherever he wanders, he goes in
peril of his life, at least he thinks so; and, like a man in debt, thinks every
one he meets a bailiff.
There were none alive but
his near relations; yet even of them he is justly afraid who had himself been
so barbarous to his brother. Some read it, Whatsoever finds me shall
slay me; not only, "Whosoever among men,’’ but, "Whatsoever among all
the creatures.’’ Seeing himself thrown out of YAH’s protection, he sees the
whole creation armed against him.
Unpardoned guilt fills
men with continual terrors, Prov. 28:1; Job 15:20, 21; Ps. 53:5. It is better
to fear and not sin than to sin and then fear. Therefore, let it be that any
that find me may kill me. Being bitter in soul, he longs for death, but
it comes not (Job 3:20–22), as those under spiritual torments do, Rev. 9:5,
6.
Gen 4:15 And יהוה said to him,
“Well, if anyone kills Qayin, vengeance is taken on him sevenfold.” And יהוה set up a sign for Qayin, lest anyone finding him
kills him.- who was Cain in fear off? Was there other people on the face of the earth
at that time. If anyone! Who are these anyone, other than his relatives?
Here is YAH’s
confirmation of the sentence; for when he judges he will overcome. How Cain is
protected in wrath by this declaration, notified, we may suppose, to all that
little world which was then in being: Whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance
shall be taken on him seven-fold, because thereby the sentence he was under
(that he should be a fugitive and a vagabond) would be defeated.
Condemned prisoners
are under the special protection of the law; those that are appointed
sacrifices to public justice must not be sacrificed to private revenge. YAHVEH
having said in Cain’s case, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, it would
have been a daring usurpation for any man to take the sword out of YAH’s hand,
a contempt put upon an express declaration of YAH’s mind, and therefore avenged
seven-fold.
YAHVEH has wise and
holy ends in protecting and prolonging the lives even of very wicked men. YAHVEH
deals with some according to that prayer, Slay them not, lest my people
forget; scatter them by thy power, Ps. 59:11. Had Cain been slain
immediately, he would have been forgotten (Eccl. 8:10); but now he lives a more
fearful and lasting monument of YAH’s justice, hanged in chains, as it were.
How he is marked in
wrath: EL YAHVEH set a mark upon Cain, to distinguish him from the rest
of mankind and to notify that he was the man that murdered his brother, whom
nobody must hurt, but every body must hoot at. YAHVEH stigmatized him (as some
malefactors are burnt in the cheek), and put upon him such a visible and
indelible mark of infamy and disgrace as would make all wise people shun him,
so that he could not be otherwise than a fugitive and a vagabond, and the
off-scouring of all things.
Gen 4:16 So Qayin went out from the presence
of יהוה and dwelt in the land of Noḏ
on the east of Ěḏen. – The flesh depart
from the Presence of YAHVEH and formed their own community, to the East of
Eden. Eden is not the garden, the garden is in Eden . The land of Nod
is similar to the Land
of Darkness spiritually.
The flesh will always want to dwell in the Outer Court , where they have a form of
godliness, yet denying the truth therein.
Adam was expel from the Holy of Holies to the Holy Place , Cain was expel from the Holy Place to the
Outer-court. This just goes to show us the fall of man from the place were he
was created to have dominion over, to the place were he is subjugated to nature
and wild animals.
The act of rebellion by some of the sons of YAHVEH the whole system of the
Earth’s circuits had been servered from the Kingdom of Heaven .
Earth was isolated, as a computer with a virus is isolated from the other
computer on the network. The Earth became Bahu and Tahu formless and void of
character and spirit adjustment of YAHVEH EL ELYON.
Every order and group of Celestial life on earth suddenly found themselves without
contact from the Hevenly Father. When Lucerfer proclaimed himself independent
from Father YAHVEH, those sons who were with him became superhuman character on the earth. The
Seraphin and the Cherubin and others celestial being were involved in the
decision of this bitter struggle, this long and sinful conflict.
Many superhuman groups that changed to be on earth at that time of the
spiritual isolation were detained here and like the Sepaphin and their
associates, were compelled to chose between sin and righteousness, between the
ways of Lucifer and EL YAHVEH this action of choosing between the Universal
Father, YAHVEH EL ELYON and Lucifer.
These rebellious sons chose Nod as their leader. They worked wholehearted
for the rebel prince but soon discovered that they were deprived of the
sustenance of the system life circuits which the Kingdom of Heaven
produces. They were superhuman but, at the same time, material and mortal. In
an effort to increase their numbers, they resort to sexual act in-order to
increase there numbers.
These group of super-humans move to an area north and east, in and around
the landmass of what we call today as India . Their descendants were long
known as the Nodites, and their dwelling place as the land of Nod .
These are the sons of darkness, and this were where Qayin went when he left
the Garden of Eden the home of the children of light. This is also where Qayin
when and find a wife among the children of darkness.
Gen 4:17 And Qayin knew his wife, and she
conceived and bore Ḥanoḵ. And he built a city,
and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Ḥanoḵ. – If Adam was the only man created, then where did the wife of Cain came
from? Qayin “Cain” built a city for a
habitation. He was building a city, so some read it, ever building it,
but, a curse being upon him and the work of his hands, he could not finish it.
Or, as we read it, he built a city, in token of a fixed separation from
the church of YAH , to which he had no thoughts of ever
returning. This city was to be the head-quarters of the apostasy. The Children
of darkness are always busy building cities instead of studying Torah.
Cain’s defiance of the Divine sentence. YAHVEH
said he should be a fugitive and a vagabond. Had he repented and humbled
himself, this curse might have been turned into a blessing, as that of the
tribe of Levi was, that they should be divided in Jacob and scattered in Yisrael;
but his impenitent un-humbled heart walking contrary to YAHVEH, and resolving
to fix in spite of heaven, that which might have been a blessing was turned
into a curse.
What was Cain’s choice,
after he had forsaken YAHVEH; he looked upon a settlement in this world, as his
rest for ever. Those who looked for the heavenly city chose, while on earth, to
dwell in tabernacles; but Cain, as one that minded not that city, built
himself one on earth. Those that are cursed of YAHVEH are apt to seek their
settlement and satisfaction here below, Ps. 17:14.
See what method Cain took to defend himself
against the terrors with which he was perpetually haunted. He undertook this
building, to divert his thoughts from the consideration of his own misery, and
to drown the clamors of a guilty conscience with the noise of axes and hammers.
Therefore many baffle by their convictions thrusting themselves into a hurry of
worldly business.
See how wicked people
often get the start of YAH’s people, and out-do them in outward prosperity.
Cain and his cursed race dwell in a city, while Adam and his blessed family
dwell in tents. We cannot judge of love or hatred by all that is before us,
Eccl. 9:1, 2.
Gen 4:18 And to Ḥanoḵ was
born Iraḏ. And Iraḏ brought forth Meḥuya’ĕl, and Meḥuya’ĕl brought forth
Methusa’ĕl, and Methusa’ĕl brought forth Lemek - His family was built up. Here is an account of his
posterity, at least the heirs of his family, for seven generations. His son was
Enoch, of the same name, but not of the same character, with that holy
man that walked with YAHVEH, 5:22. Good men and bad may bear the same
names: but YAHVEH can distinguish between Judas Iscariot and Judas not
Iscariot, Jn. 14:22. The names of more of his posterity are mentioned, and but
just mentioned; not as those of the holy seed, where we have three verses
concerning each, whereas here we have three or four in one verse. They are
numbered in haste, as not valued or delighted in, in comparison with YAH’s
chosen.
Gen 4:19 And Lemeḵ took for himself two wives, the name of one was Aḏah, and the name of the second was Tsillah. – Even sinful men can sometime make good
decision. David a man after YAHVEH own heart had 13 wives, Solomon the wisest
man had 900. For those who opposed to more than one wife read II Chronicles 24:2 And Yo’ash did
what was right in the eyes of יהוה all the days of Yehoyaḏa the priest. 3 And Yehoyaḏa
took for him two wives, and he brought forth sons and daughters.’
Let us be careful of the commandments of men. If a man sinned in taking two
wives, then the children of the second wife, of Jacob are all children of Adultery.
Therefore they cannot enter the Kingdom
of Heaven . How many wives
did Jacob had? Did all of Jacob 12 son receive an inheritance in the Yisrael?
Scripture never say a man must have one wife! This is the commandment of men.
Gen 4:20 And Aḏah bore Yaḇal. He was the father of those
who dwell in tents, with livestock. - Jabal was a
famous shepherd; he delighted much in keeping cattle himself, and was so happy
in devising methods of doing it to the best advantage, and instructing others
in them, that the shepherds of those times, nay, the shepherds of after-times,
called him father; or perhaps, his children after him being brought up
to the same employment, the family was a family of shepherds.
Gen 4:21 And his brother’s name was Yuḇal. He was the father of all those who play the lyre and
flute. Jubal was a famous musician,
and particularly an organist, and the first that gave rules for the noble art
or science of music. When Jabal had set them in a way to be rich, Jubal put
them in a way to be merry. Those that spend their days in wealth will not be
without the timbrels and harp, Job 21:12, 13. From his name, Jubal,
probably the jubilee-trumpet was so called; for the best music was that which
proclaimed liberty and redemption. Jabal was their Pan and Jubal their Apollo.
Gen 4:22 As for Tsillah,
she also bore Tuḇal-Qayin, a smith of all kinds
of tools in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tuḇal-Qayin was Naʽamah.
Tubal Cain was a famous smith, who greatly
improved the art of working in brass and iron, for the service both of war and
husbandry. He was their Vulcan. That worldly things are the only things that
carnal wicked people set their hearts upon and are most ingenious and
industrious about. So it was with this impious race of cursed Cain. Here were a
father of shepherds and a father of musicians, but not a father of the
faithful. Here was one to teach in brass and iron, but none to teach the good
knowledge of YAHVEH. Here were devices how to be rich, and how to be mighty,
and how to be merry, but nothing of YAHVEH, nor of his fear and service, among
them. Present things fill the heads of most people. That even those who are
destitute of the knowledge and grace of YAHVEH may be endued with many
excellent and useful accomplishments, which may make them famous and
serviceable in their generation. Common gifts are given to bad men, while YAHVEH
chooses to himself the foolish things of the world.
Gen 4:23 And Lemeḵ said to his wives, “Aḏah and
Tsillah, hear my voice! Wives of Lemeḵ, listen to my
words! For I have killed a man for wounding me, even a young man for hurting
me. – By this speech of Lamech,
which is here recorded, and probably was much talked of in those times, he
further appears to have been a wicked man, as Cain’s accursed race generally
were.
How haughtily and
imperiously he speaks to his wives, as one that expected a mighty regard and
observance: Hear my voice, you wives of Lamech. Which obliged him to be kind
and tender to those he had taken, and to give honour to the wife as to the
weaker vessel. Those are not always the most careful to do their own duty that
are highest in their demands of respect from others, and most frequent in
calling upon their relations to know their place and do their duty. How bloody
and barbarous he was to all about him: I have slain, or I would slay a man in
my wound, and a young man in my hurt.
Gen 4:24 “For Qayin is
avenged sevenfold, and Lemeḵ seventy-sevenfold.” - He describe himself a man of a fierce and cruel
disposition, that would lay about him without mercy, and kill all that stood in
his way; be it a man, or a young man, nay, though he himself were in danger to
be wounded and hurt in the conflict. Some think, because he compares himself
with Cain, that he had murdered some of the holy seed, the true worshippers of YAHVEH,
and that he acknowledged this to be the wounding of his conscience and the hurt
of his soul; and yet that, like Cain, he continued impenitent, trembling and
yet un-humbled. Or his wives, knowing what manner of spirit he was of, how apt
both to give and to resent provocation, were afraid lest somebody or other
would be the death of him.
Let them hate, provided
they fear. How impiously he presumes even upon YAH’s protection in his wicked
way. He had heard that Cain should be avenged seven-fold verse 15, that is,
that if any man should dare to kill Cain he should be severely reckoned with
and punished for so doing, though Cain deserved to die a thousand deaths for
the murder of his brother, and hence he infers that if any one should kill him
for the murders he had committed YAHVEH would much more avenge his death. As if
the special care YAHVEH took to prolong and secure the life of Cain, for special
reasons peculiar to his case (and indeed for his sorer punishment, as the
beings of the damned are continued) were designed as a protection to all
murderers.
Thus Lamech perversely
argues, "If YAHVEH provided for the safety of Cain, much more for mine,
who, though I have slain many, yet never slew my own brother, and upon no
provocation, as he did.’’ The reprieve of some sinners, and the patience YAHVEH
exercises towards them, are often abused to the hardening of others in the like
sinful ways, Eccl. 8:11. But, though justice strike some slowly, others cannot
therefore be sure but that they may be taken away with a swift destruction. Or,
if YAHVEH should bear long with those who thus presume upon his forbearance,
they do but hereby treasure up unto themselves.
Gen 4:25 And Aḏam knew his wife again, and she
bore a son and called his name Shĕth, “For Elohim has appointed me another seed
instead of Heḇel, because Qayin had slain
him.” - This is the first mention of
Adam in this chapter. No question, the murder of Abel, and the impenitence and
apostasy of Cain, was a very great grief to them, and the more because their
own wickedness did now correct them and their backslidings did not reprove thre children. Their folly had given
sin and death entrance into the world; and now they smarted by it, being
deprived of both their sons in one day, ch. 27:45. When parents are
grieved by their children’s wickedness they should take occasion thence to
lament that corruption of nature which was derived from them, and which is the
root of bitterness. But here we have that which was a relief to our first
parents in their affliction.
YAHVEH gave them time to
contemplate over there sin and a opportunity to re-build their family, which
was sorely shaken and weakened by that sad event. They saw their children,
children, children. Observe YAHVEH’s kindness and tenderness towards his
people, in his providential dealings with them; when he takes away one comfort
from them, he gives them another instead of it, which may prove a greater
blessing to them than that was in which they thought their lives were bound up.
This other seed was he in
whom the church was to be built up and perpetuated, and he comes instead of
Abel, for the succession of confessors is the revival of the martyrs and as it
were the resurrection of YAHVEH’s slain witnesses. Thus we are baptized for
the dead (1 Co. 15:29), that is, we are,
by baptism, admitted into the church, for or instead of those who by death,
especially by martyrdom, are removed out of it; and we fill up their room.
Idol worship
Eve
was the first person to introduce idolatry by adding to what The Mighty Ones
said. The generations of Enoch also introduced idolatry worship, which became
the stain on humanity for thousands of years.
By ascribing god-like qualities to man and lifeless objects, they
created the abominable situation in which they use to call on the Name or
represent YAHVEH.
Therefore
a new way was introduced and then people
began to change how יהוה does
things, they felt they should honor the Heavenly bodies as Yah’s emissaries to
the world, just as it is proper to honor
rulers. Eventually, this evolved into a more corrupted form of worship, until
everyone did what was right in their own eyes. So we see the demise of man, from a perfect
created being to a contaminated idol worshiper.
Are we any different today? Have
we dug our own well and designed our own righteousness? I would say we have done all that and more!
Next the 1st
judgment.
Gen 4:26 And to Shĕth, to
him also a son was born. And he called his name Enosh. Then it was begun to
call on the Name of יהוה. - The
first record of “calling on the Name of יהוה”-
YAHVEH is the name given them to
see the restoration of the family fortunes: Then began men to call upon the
name of YAHVEH. It is small comfort to a good man to see his children’s
children, if he do not, withal, see peace upon Yisrael, and those that come of
him walking in the truth.
Doubtless YAH’s name was
called upon before, but now we see the restoration of the true worshippers of YAHVEH.
It began to stir up themselves to do more in His name than they had done;
perhaps not more than had been done at first, but more than had been done of
late, since the defection of Cain.
Now men began to worship
the true name of YAHVEH, not only in their closets and families, but in public
and solemn assemblies. Or now there was so great a reformation in religion that
it was, as it were, a new beginning of it. Then may refer, not to the
birth of Enos, but to the whole foregoing story: then, when men saw in Cain and Lamech the sad effects of
sin by the workings of natural conscience, when they saw YAH’s judgments upon
sin and sinners, then they were
so much the more lively and resolute in religion.
The worse others are,
should encourage us to be better, and the more zealous. The worshippers of YAHVEH true Name began to
distinguish themselves. The margin reads it, Then began men to be called by
the name of the YAHVEH, or to call themselves by it. Now that Cain and
those that had deserted religion had built a city, and begun to declare for
impiety and irreligion, and called themselves the sons of men, those
that adhered to YAHVEH began to declare for him and his worship, and called
themselves the sons of YAHVEH. Now began the distinction between
professors and profane, which has been kept up ever since, and will be while
the world stands.
Chapter 5
A new narrative
began, enumerating the generations from Adam to Noah. The generation begins
with Seth, for it was through him that the human race survived. Abel died without issue, and Cain’s
descendants perished in the flood.
This chapter is the only
authentic history extant of the first age of the world from the creation to the
flood, containing (according to the verity of the Hebrew text) 1656 years, as
may easily be computed by the ages of the patriarchs, before they begat that
son through whom the line went down to Noah.
This is one of those
which the apostle calls "endless genealogies’’ (1 Tim. 1:4), for Messiyah,
who was the fulfillment of the law, towards Him they looked, as we look back to
Him and in Him we are all centered. The genealogy here recorded in inserted
briefly in the pedigree of our Messiyah Yahushua (Lu. 3:36–38), and is of great
use to show that Messiyah was the "seed of the woman’’ that was promised.

Gen 5:1
This
is the book of the genealogy of Aḏam. In the day
that Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim. -
Gen 5:2 Male and female He created them, and He blessed them, and
called their name ‘Aḏam’ in the day they were
created. – The Talmud comments that a male without a wife is not a man, for it
is said, Elohim created them male and female. And called their name Adam “Man,”
Only when sinful man is united with his wife can he be called a Man. For Yahushua
HaMashiach was all man and more, when He was on earth, yet He did not take a
wife. The reason for this, was He never sined.
That YAHVEH made Him in
HIS own likeness, righteous and holy, and therefore, undoubtedly, happy. Man’s
nature resembled the divine nature more than that of any of the creatures of
this lower world.
That יהוה created them male and female,
for their mutual comfort as well as for the preservation and increase of their
kind. Adam and Eve were both made by the hand of Elohim, both made in Elohim’s
likeness. That YAHVEH blessed them. It is usual for parents to bless their
children; so YAHVEH, the common Father, blessed HIS. But earthly parents can
only beg a blessing; it is YAH’s prerogative to command it.
It refers chiefly to the
blessing of increase, not excluding other blessings. That he called their
name Adam. Adam signifies earth, red earth. Now, YAHVEH gave him
this name. Adam had himself named the rest of the creatures, but he must not
choose his own name, lest he should assume some glorious pompous title. But YAHVEH
gave him a name which would be a continual memorandum to him of the meanness of
his original, and oblige him to look unto the rock whence he was hewn and
the hole of the pit whence he was digged, Isa. 51:1.
Those have little reason
to be proud who are so near akin to dust. He gave this name both to the man and
to the woman. Being at first one by nature, and afterwards one in the Spirit,
it was fit they should both have the same name, in token of their union. The
woman is of the earth, earthy
as well as the man is both Spirit and flesh.
Gen 5:3 And Aḏam lived one hundred and thirty
years, and brought forth a son in his own likeness, after his image, and called
his name Shĕth. – This verse illustrate that YAHVEH gave Adam, who
was created in YAH’S image, the capacity to reproduce offspring who were also,
in this noble likeness. This is not mentioned concerning Cain or Abel because,
their seed perish.
The birth of his son Seth. He was born in the hundred and
thirtieth year of Adam’s life; and probably the murder of Abel was not long
before. But that which is most observable here concerning Seth is that Adam
begat him in his own likeness, after
his image. Adam was made in the image of
YAHVEH; but, when he was fallen and corrupt, he begat a son in his own
image, sinful and defiled, frail, mortal, and miserable, like himself; not only
a man like himself, consisting
of body and soul, but a sinner
like himself, guilty and obnoxious, degenerate and corrupt. Even the man after
YAH’s own heart owns himself conceived
and born in sin, Ps. 51:5. This was Adam’s own likeness, the reverse of
that divine likeness in which Adam was made; but, having lost it himself, he
could not convey it to his seed. Grace does not run in the blood, but
corruption does. A sinner begets a sinner, but a saint does not always beget a
saint.
Gen 5:4 And after he brought forth Shĕth, the days of Aḏam were eight hundred years. And he brought forth sons and
daughters. – Seth was born to Adam when he was 800 years old.
Gen 5:5 So all the days that Aḏam lived were
nine hundred and thirty years, and he died. – Torah says one day is like a
thousand years. Adam was told that the day he eat the fruit is the day he would
die. Then how did he live 930 years. It
is a matter of interpretation. One day in YAHVEH is like 1000 years to us. Adam
did not even lived one day in YAHVEH time table. He lived 0.930 of YAHVEH day.
Gen 5:6 And Shĕth lived one hundred and five years, and brought
forth Enosh. – We have here all that the
Set Apart Spirit thought fit to leave upon record concerning the five Patriarchs
before the flood, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, and Jared. There is nothing observable
concerning any of these particularly, though we have reason to think they were
men of eminence, both for prudence and piety, in their day: but in general, observe
how largely and expressly their generations are recorded. This matter, one
would think, might have been delivered in fewer words; but it is certain that
there is not one idle word in YAH’s books, whatever there is in men’s. It is
thus plainly written down.
To make it easy and intelligible to the
meanest capacity. When we are informed how old they were when they begat such a
son, and how many years they lived afterwards, a very little skill in
arithmetic will enable a man to tell how long they lived in all; yet the Holy
Spirit sets down the sum total, for the sake of those that have not even so
much skill as this.
Gen 5:7 And after he brought forth Enosh, Shĕth lived eight
hundred and seven years, and brought forth sons and daughters. - To show the pleasure YAHVEH takes in the names of
his people. We found Cain’s generation numbered in haste (ch. 4:18), but this
account of the Set Apart seed is enlarged upon, and given in words at length,
and not in figures; we are told how long those lived that lived in YAH’s fear,
and when those died that died in his favour; but as for others it is no matter.
The memory of the just is blessed, but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Gen 5:8 So all the days of Shĕth were nine hundred and twelve
years, and he died. – Their
life is reckoned by days: All the days of Seth, and so of the rest,
which intimates the shortness of the life of man when it is at the longest, and
the quick revolution of our times on earth. If they reckoned by days, surely we
must reckon by hours, or rather make that our frequent prayer (Ps. 90:12), Teach
us to number our days.
Gen 5:9 And Enosh lived ninety years, and brought forth Qĕynan. – Concerning each of them, except Enoch, it is said, and
he died. It is implied in the numbering of the years of their life that
their life, when those years were numbered and finished, came to an end; and
yet it is still repeated, and he died, to show that death passed upon
all men without exception, and that it is good for us particularly to observe
and improve the deaths of others for our own edification. Such a one was a
strong healthful man, but he died; such a one was a great and rich man, but he
died; such a one was a wise politic man, but he died; such a one was a very
good man, perhaps a very useful man, but he died, etc.
Gen 5:10 And after he brought forth Qĕynan, Enosh lived eight
hundred and fifteen years, and brought forth sons and daughters. – That which is especially observable is that they all
lived very long; not one of them died till he had seen the revolution of almost
eight hundred years, and some of them lived much longer, a great while for an
immortal soul to be imprisoned in a house of clay. The present life surely was
not to them such a burden as commonly it is now, else they would have been
weary of it; nor was the future life so clearly revealed then as it is now
under the gospel, else they would have been impatient to remove to it: long
life to the pious patriarchs was a blessing and made them blessings.
Gen 5:11 So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years,
and he died. – Enoch live 0.905 day.
Gen 5:12 And Qĕynan lived seventy years, and brought forth
Mahalal’ĕl. – He lived 0.070 day before Mahalal was born.
Gen 5:13 After he brought forth Mahalal’ĕl, Qĕynan lived eight
hundred and forty years, and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 5:14 So all
the days of Qĕynan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died. – In total
he lived 0.910 of a day in YAHVEH time table.
Gen 5:15 And Mahalal’ĕl lived sixty-five years, and brought forth
Yereḏ.
Gen 5:16 And after he brought forth Yereḏ, Mahalal’ĕl lived eight hundred and thirty years, and
brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 5:17 So all the days of Mahalal’ĕl were eight hundred and
ninety-five years, and he died. – He live 0.895 of a day in YAH’s
time.
Gen 5:18 And Yereḏ lived one hundred and sixty-two
years, and brought forth Ḥanoḵ.
Gen 5:19 And after he brought forth Ḥanoḵ, Yereḏ lived eight hundred years, and
brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 5:20 So all the days of Yereḏ were nine
hundred and sixty-two years, and he died. – He lived 0.962 of a day in YAHVEH
time.
Gen 5:21 And Ḥanoḵ lived sixty-five years, and
brought forth Methushelaḥ.
Gen 5:22 And after he brought forth Methushelaḥ, Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim three hundred years, and brought forth
sons and daughters.
Gen 5:23 So all the days of Ḥanoḵ were three
hundred and sixty-five years. – In 0.365 of a day Enoch reach perfection.
Gen 5:24 And Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim. Then he was
no more, for Elohim took him. – The level of perfection Enoch reach
cause him to be taken up to the Heavens withou dying. This level of perfection
will cause one’s body to transformed while he is still in the flesh. This is
total subjegation of the body to the will of the Spirit.
Gen 5:25 And Methushelaḥ lived one hundred and eighty-seven years,
and brought forth Lemeḵ. –
Gen 5:26 And after he brought forth Lemeḵ, Methushelaḥ lived seven hundred and eighty-two years,
and brought forth sons and daughters.
Gen 5:27 So all the days of Methushelaḥ were nine hundred and
sixty-nine years, and he died. Methusshel lived 0.969 of a day in YAHVEH
time.
Gen 5:28 And Lemeḵ lived one hundred and eighty-two
years, and brought forth a son,
Gen 5:29 and called his name Noaḥ, saying, “This one does comfort
us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which יהוה has cursed.” – A godly son
will always comfort the soul of a parent, because he carry on the work of the
parents, even though the soil have been cursed, he finds a blessing.
Gen 5:30 And after he brought
forth Noaḥ, Lemeḵ lived five hundred and
ninety-five years, and brought forth sons and daughters. – off all the sons of Lemek only Noah was found worthy to be saved
from the flood.
Gen 5:31 So all the days of
Lemeḵ were seven hundred and seventy-seven
years, and he died. – Lemek lived 0.777 of a day
in YAHVEH time.
Gen 5:32 And Noaḥ was five
hundred years old, and Noaḥ brought forth Shĕm, Ḥam, and Yepheth. – Noah was in his
fifth day of Creation when we brought forth his three sons.
Some natural causes may
be assigned for their long life in those first generation in the world. It is
very probable that the earth was more fruitful, that the productions of it were
more strengthening, that the air was more healthful, and that the influences of
the heavenly bodies were more benign, before the flood, than afterwards. Though
man was driven out of paradise, yet the earth itself was then paradisiacal, a
garden in comparison with its present wilderness-state: and some think that
their great knowledge of the creatures, and of their usefulness both for food
and medicine, together with their sobriety and temperance, contributed much to
it; yet we do not find that those who were intemperate, as many were (Lu.
17:27), were as short-lived as intemperate men generally are now.
Chapter 6
The most remarkable event
we have here in record concerning the old world is the destruction of it by the
universal deluge, the account of which commences in this chapter, wherein we
have,
I.
The abounding
iniquity of that wicked world verse 1–5, 11, 12.
II.
The righteous
YAH’s just resentment of that abounding iniquity, and his holy resolution to
punish it verse 6, 7.
III.
The special
favor of YAHVEH to his servant Noah.
1.
In the
character given of him verse 8–10.
2.
In the
communication of YAH’s purpose to him verse 13, 17
3.
In the
directions he gave him to make an ark for his own safety verse 14–16.
4. In the employing of
him for the preservation of the rest of the creatures verse 18–21. Lastly,
Noah’s obedience to the instructions given him verse 22. And this concerning
the old world is written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the new
would have come.
Gen 6:1 And it
came to be, when men began to increase on the face of the earth, and daughters
were born to them, -
Whenever the term and it came to pass, occurs in Scripture, it often the
fulfillment of trouble. In this case, our chapter begins the account of
mankind’s quickening descent into the abyss.
Gen 6:2 that the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men, that they
were good. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. – This
verse describe the sons of the gods. These were the sons of the princes and
judges, for יהוה always implies ruler-ship, as in Exodus 4:16: and you shall be
his master. The daughters of man were the daughters of the general population;
the multitude, the lower class, who did not have the power to resist their
superiors. Therefore, the Torah begins the narrative of the Tragedy by speaking
of the subjugation of the weak by the powerful.
The sons of Elohim, are the desendant of the Son of Elohim who became
earth bound after the rebellion of Lucifer, while the daughter of man implying
less spiritual people are the iniquitous descendants of Cain. The result of
such a marriage was the Son of Angels
were trying to preserve their culture through union with man. This godless,
depraved culture, and suffer the same fate that efect mankind.
The presence of these supermen and women, stranded on earth by the
rebellion and mating sexually with the sons and daughters of men, brought about
a superhuman beings call the Nephilim.
These rebel deprive of spiritual sustenance, eventually died a natural
death, But their legacy live on in their religious views of misunderstanding,
lies against Torah and deceit by religion.
We must understand that The Creator of the Universe did not establish
any religious order with man. Our CREATOR establish the universe in a righteous
order, and that universal spiritual order is called the Universal Spiritual
Order of Melchizedek “the way of, teaching, direction, order of righteousness.”
Gen 6:3 And יהוה said, “My Spirit shall not strive
with man forever in his going astray. He is flesh, and his days shall be one
hundred and twenty years.” – “My Spirit shall not strive with man
for.” Seeing that mankind had not lived up to His
aspirations, YAHVEH resolved that HE would not wait much longer, debating with
HIMSELF, as it were, whether to destroy it because of its sins, or to show
mercy, because He is but flesh, and cannot survive without compassion.
Man is unworthy that YAH’S Spirit should reside
in Him, since he is drawn to the flesh like the others creatures, and his soul
is drawn to the flesh rather than to YAH’S Spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit is the network that
connect the spirit of man with YAHVEH El ELYON, sinful man can only gain access
to this network through the Blood of Yahushua.
Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on
the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in to
the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men
who were of old, the men of name. - We have here a further account of the corruption of
the old world. When the sons of the MIGHTY ONES were mating with the daughters
of men, though it was very displeasing to YAHVEH, yet he did not
immediately cut them off, but waited to see what would be the issue of these
marriages, and which side the children would take after; and it proved (as
usually it does), that they took after the worst side. Here is my argument.
They were giants,
and they were men of renown; they became too difficulty for those about
them to control, and they did not help any below them. With their size they
became inflict a great demand on society, as the sons of Anak, Num. 13:33.
With their great name, as
the king of Assyria , Isa. 37:11. These made
them the terror of the mighty in the land of the living; and, thus
armed, they daringly insulted the rights of all their neighbors and trampled
upon all that is just and sacred.
Those that have so much
power over others as to be able to control themselves, Yet is this case they seldom display power
over themselves, as not to oppress the weaker; great might is a very great
snare to many. This degenerate race slighted the honor their ancestors had
obtained by virtue and superior DNA, and made themselves a great name by that
which was the perpetual ruin of their good name.
Gen 6:5 And יהוה saw that the wickedness of man was great in the
earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually. - The
charge exhibited in this verse proved against them. The evidence produced was
incontestable. YAHVEH saw it, and that was instead of a thousand witnesses. YAHVEH
sees all the wickedness that is among the children of men; it cannot be
concealed from him now, and, if it be not repented of, it shall not be
concealed by him shortly. Now what did YAHVEH take notice of?
He observed that the
streams of sin that flowed along in men’s lives, and the breadth and depth of
those streams: He saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.
Observe the connection of this with what goes before: the oppressors were mighty
men and men of renown; and, then, YAHVEH saw that the wickedness of man
was great.
The wickedness of a
people is great indeed when the most notorious sinners are men of renown among
them. Things are bad when bad men are not only honored notwithstanding their
wickedness, but honored for their wickedness, and the vilest men exalted.
Wickedness is then great when great men are wicked. Their wickedness was great,
that is, abundance of sin was committed in all places, by all sorts of people;
and such sin as was in its own nature most gross, and heinous, and provoking;
it was committed daringly, and with a defiance of heaven, nor was any care
taken by those that had power in their hands to restrain and punish it.
This EL YAHVEH saw. All
the sins of sinners are known to YAHVEH the Judge. Those that are most
conversant in the world, though they see much wickedness in it, yet they see
but little of that which is; but YAHVEH sees all, and judges aright concerning
it, how great it is, nor can he be deceived in his judgment.
He observed the fountain
of sin that was in men’s hearts. Any one might see that the wickedness of
man was great, for they declared their sin as Sodom; but EL YAHVEH’s eye
went further: He saw that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually, a sad sight, and very offensive to YAH’s holy eye!
This was the bitter root, the corrupt spring: all the violence and oppression,
all the luxury and wantonness, that were in the world, proceeded from the
corruption of nature; lust conceived them, Jam. 1:15. See Mt.
15:19.
The heart was naught; it
was deceitful and desperately wicked. The principles were corrupt, and the
habits and dispositions evil. The thoughts of the heart were so. Thought is
sometimes taken for the settled judgment or opinion, and this was bribed, and
biased, and misled; sometimes it signifies the workings of the mind, and these
were always either vain or vile, either weaving the spider’s web or hatching
the cockatrice’s egg.
The imagination of the
thoughts of the heart was so, that is, their designs and devices were wicked.
They did not do evil through mere carelessness, as those that walk at all
adventures, not heeding what they do; but they did evil deliberately and
designedly, always contriving how to do mischief. It was bad indeed; for it was
only evil, continually evil, and every imagination was so. There was no good to
be found among them, no, not at any time: the stream of sin was full, and
strong, and constant; and EL YAHVEH saw it; see Ps. 14:1-3.
Gen 6:6 And יהוה was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He
was grieved in His heart. - YAH’s resentment of man’s wickedness. He did not see it as an
unconcerned spectator, but as one injured and affronted by it; he saw it as a
tender father sees the folly and stubbornness of a rebellious and disobedient
child, which not only angers him, but grieves him, and makes him wish he was
childless.
The expressions here used
are very strange: It repented YAHVEH that HE had made man upon the earth,
that HE had made a creature of such noble powers and faculties, and had put him
on this earth, which HE built and furnished on purpose to be a convenient,
comfortable, habitation for him; and it grieved HIM at HIS heart.
These are expressions
after the manner of men, and must be understood so as not to reflect upon the
honor of YAH’s immutability or felicity. This language does not imply any
passion or uneasiness in YAHVEH (nothing can create disturbance to the Eternal
Mind), but it expresses HIS just and holy displeasure against sin and sinners,
against sin as odious to his holiness and against sinners as obnoxious to his
justice.
HE is pressed by the sins
of HIS creatures (Amos 2:13), wearied (Isa. 43:24), broken (Eze. 6:9), grieved
(Ps. 95:10), and here grieved to the heart, as men are when they are
wronged and abused by those they have been very kind to, and therefore repent
of their kindness, and wish they had never fostered that snake in their bosom
which now hisses in their face and stings them to the heart.
Does YAHVEH hate sin? And
shall we not hate it also? Has our sin grieved HIM to the heart? And shall we
not be grieved and pricked to the heart for it? O that this consideration may
humble us and shame us, and that we may look on HIM whom we have grieved, and
mourn! Zec. 12:10.
It does not imply any
change of YAH’s mind; for HE is in one mind, and who can turn him? With
him there is not variableness. But it expressed a change of HIS way.
When YAHVEH had made man upright, HE rested and was refreshed (Ex.
31:17), and HIS way towards him was such as showed HE was pleased with the work
of HIS own hands; but, now that man had apostatized, HE could not do otherwise
than show himself displeased; so that the change was in man, not in YAHVEH. YAHVEH
repented that HE had made man; but we never find HIM repenting that he redeemed
man (though that was a work of much greater expense), because special and
effectual grace is given to secure the great ends of redemption; so that those gifts
and callings are without repentance, Rom. 11:29.
Gen 6:7 And יהוה said, “I am going to wipe off man whom I have created
from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping creature and birds of
the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” - YAH’s resolution to
destroy man for his wickedness.
When YAHVEH repented that
HE had made man, HE resolved to destroy man. Therefore those that truly repent
of sin will resolve, in the strength of YAH’s grace, to mortify sin and to
destroy it, and so to undo what they have done amiss. We do but mock YAHVEH in
saying that we are sorry for our sin, and that it grieves us to the heart, if
we continue to indulge it. In vain do we pretend a change of our mind if we do
not evidence it by a change of our way.
YAHVEH resolves to
destroy man. The original word is very significant: I will wipe off man from
the earth (so some), as dirt or filth is wiped off from a place which
should be clean, and is thrown to the dunghill, the proper place for it. 2 Ki.
21:13. Those that are the spots of the places they live in are justly wiped away
by the judgments of EL YAHVEH. I will blot out man from the earth (so
others), as those lines which displease the author are blotted out a book, or
as the name of a citizen is blotted out of the rolls of the freemen, when he is
dead or disfranchised.
He speaks of man as HIS
own creature even when HE resolves upon his ruin: Man whom I have created.
"Though I have created him, this shall not excuse him,’’ Isa. 27:11. HE
that made him will not save him; he that is our Creator, if he be not our
ruler, will be our destroyer. Or, "Because I have created him, and he has
been so undutiful and ungrateful to his CREATOR, therefore I will destroy
him:’’ those forfeit their lives that do not answer the end of their living.
Even the brute-creatures
were to be involved in this destruction, Beasts, and creeping things, and
the fowls of the air. These were made for man, and therefore must be
destroyed with man; for it follows: It repenteth me that I have made them;
for the end of their creation also was frustrated. They were made that man
might serve and honor יהוה with
them; and therefore were destroyed because he had served his lusts with them,
and made them subject to vanity.
YAHVEH took up this
resolution concerning man after HIS Spirit had been long striving with him in
vain. None are ruined by the justice of YAHVEH but those that hate to be
reformed by the grace of YAHVEH.
Gen 6:8 But Noaḥ found favor in
the eyes of יהוה. – In this
verse we have Noah been distinguished
from the rest of the world, and a peculiar mark of honor put upon him.
When EL YAHVEH was
displeased with the rest of the world, HE favored Noah: But Noah found grace
in the eyes of YAHVEH. This vindicates YAH’s justice in HIS displeasure
against the world, and shows that HE had strictly examined the character of
every person in the world before HE pronounced it universally corrupt; for,
there being one good man, HE found him out, and smiled upon him.
It also magnifies HIS
grace towards Noah that he was made a vessel of YAH’s mercy when all mankind
besides had become the generation of his wrath: distinguishing favors bring
under peculiarly strong obligations. Probably Noah did not find favor in the
eyes of men; they hated and persecuted him, because both by his life and
preaching he condemned the world. But he found grace in the eyes of YAHVEH,
and this was honor and comfort enough.
YAHVEH made more account
of Noah than of all the world besides, and this made him greater and more truly
honorable than all the giants that were in those days, who became mighty men
and men of renown. Let this be the summit of our ambition, to find grace in
the eyes of YAHVEH; herein let us labour, that, present or absent, we may
be accepted of him, 2 Co. 5:9. Those are highly favoured whom EL YAHVEH
favours.
Haftaras
Isaiah 42:5 – 43:10
Blessed
are You יהוה, our El. King of the Universe,
Rock of all eternities, Righteous in all generation, the trustworthy Elohim,
who says and does.
Who
speaks and fulfills, all of Whose words are true and righteous. Trustworthy are
Your Words, not one of Your Word is turn back to its origin unfulfilled, for
You are the El of all Elohim, trustworthy and compassionate King. Blessed are
You, יהוה, the El Who is trustworthy in all His Words.
Isa 42:10
Sing to יהוה a new song; His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go
down to the sea, and all that is in it, you coastlands and you inhabitants of
them! - The song of joy and praise which should be given to
the glory of יהוה: Sing
unto YAHVEH a new song, a New-Testament song. The giving of Messiyah for a
light to the Gentiles verse 6, was a new thing, and very surprising.
The apostle speaks of it
as a mystery which, in other ages, was not made known, as it is now revealed, that
the Gentiles should be fellow-heirs, Eph. 3:5, 6. Now, this being the new
thing which יהוה declares, the newness of the song which is to be sung on this
occasion is this, that whereas, before, the songs of YAHVEH were very much
confined to the temple at Yerushalayim (David’s psalms were in the language of
the Jews only, and sung by them in their own country only).
When they were in a
strange land, they hung their harps under the willow-trees and could not sing YAHVEH’s
song, as we find, Ps. 137:2-4, now the songs of holy joy and praise shall be
sung all the world over.
By those that live in the
end of the earth, in countries that lie most remote from Yerushalayim. From
the uttermost parts of the earth have we heard songs, ch. 24:16. This was
fulfilled when believers was planted in every land.
By mariners and
merchants, and those that go down to the sea, that do business in great
waters, and suck the riches of the sea, and so make themselves masters of the
fulness thereof and all that is therein, with which they shall praise YAHVEH,
and justly, for it is HIS, Ps. 24:1; 95:5. By the inhabitants of the rock,
and those that dwell on the tops.
Isa 42:11 Let the wilderness
and its cities lift up their voice, the villages where Qĕḏar
dwells. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the
mountains. - The Hebrew traded little at sea; if therefore YAH’S
praises be sung by those that go down to the sea, it must be by Gentiles.
Sea-faring men are called upon to praise YAHVEH, Ps. 107:23. 3.
By the islands and the
inhabitants thereof, and again, verse 12. Let them declare praise in the islands, the isles of the
Gentiles, probably referring to the islands of Greece . 4.
By the wilderness and
the cities thereof, and the villages of Kedar. These lay east from Yerushalayim, as the islands
lay west, so that the gospel songs should be sung from the rising of the sun to
the going down of the same.
The whole Gentile world
had been like an island, cut off from communication with YAH’s church, and like
a wilderness, uncultivated and bringing forth no fruit of the Spirit to EL
YAHVEH; but now the islands and the wilderness shall praise יהוה.
Of the mountains, not only the Gentiles, but the poorest and meanest
and most despicable, those that dwell in cottages, as well as those that
inhabit cities and villages. The rude and most barbarous, as the mountaineers
commonly are called, shall be civilized by the gospel. Or by the inhabitants of
the rock may be meant the inhabitants of that part of Arabia
which is called the rocky.
Perhaps the neighboring
countries might shared in the joy of the Yisraelites when they returned out of
Babylon, some of them might even joined with them in their praises; but we find
that it was not to any such degree, as might fully answer this illustrious
prophecy.
One must conclude that it
reaches further, and was fulfilled in that which many other prophecies of the
joy of the nations are describe in the renew covenant was fulfilled in, the
conversion of the Gentiles to the faith of Messiyah Scriptural Judaism. When they
are brought into the assembly they are brought to give glory to YAHVEH; then
they are to HIM for a name and a praise, and they make it their business to
praise EL YAHVEH. He is glorified in them and by them.
Isa 42:12 Let them
give esteem to יהוה, and declare His
praise in the coastlands. – The Gentile nations shall share
equally with the Believers in the Renewed Covenant blessings, and therefore
shall join in praises and acts of worship. There shall be Assemble set up in
Gentile nations and they shall sing a new song.
The conversion of the
Gentiles is often foretold under this notion, as appears, Rom. 15:9 – 11. It is
here promised that the praises of Yah’s grace shall be sung with joy and
thankfulness.
Isa 42:13 יהוה goes forth like a mighty man. He stirs up ardour like
a fighter. He cries out, yea, shout aloud. Over His enemies He shows Himself
mighty.
- It comes
all to one whether we make these verses (as some do) the song itself that is to
be sung by the Gentile world or a prophecy of what YAHVEH will do to make way
for the singing of that song, that evangelical new song.
He
will appear in His Power and Glory more than ever. So He did in the preaching
of His Gospel, in the divine power and energy which went along with it, and in
the wonderful success it had in the pulling down of Satan’s stronghold.
Isa 42:14 “I have kept silent from of old, I have been
still and held Myself back. Like a woman in labor I now cry out, I pant and
gasp at once. – EL YAHVEH had long held his peace, and been still, and refrained
himself, while he winked at the times of the ignorance of the Gentile world
(Acts 17:30), and suffered all nations to walk in their own ways (Acts 14:16); but
now he shall go forth as a mighty man,
as a man of war, to attack the devil’s kingdom and give it a fatal blow.
The going forth of the gospel is thus represented, Rev. 6:2
Isa 42:15 “I lay waste mountains and hills, and I dry up
all their plants. And I shall make rivers become coastlands, and I dry up pools.
- He
shall conquer by the power of His Name: He shall prevail against His
enemies, shall prevail to make them friends, Col. 1:21. Those that
contradict and blaspheme His gospel, YAH shall prevail to put them to silence
and shame.
YAHVEH
will destroy and devour at once all the oppositions of the powers of darkness.
Satan shall fall as lightning from Heavens, and he that had the power of death
shall be destroyed. As a type and figure of this, to make way for the
redemption of the Hebrews out of Babylon ,
YAHVEH will humble the prode, and break the power, of their oppressors, and will
at once destroy and devour the Babylonian monarchy.
In
accomplishing this destruction of Babylon
by the Persian army under the command of Cyrus, EL YAHVEH will make waste
mountains and hills, level the country, and dry up all their herbs.
The army, as usual, shall either carry off the forage or destroy it, and by
laying bridges of boats over rivers shall turn them into islands, and so drain
the fens and low grounds, to make way for the march of their army, that the
pools shall be dried up.
Thus,
when the gospel shall be preached, it shall have a free course, and that which
hinders the progress of it shall be taken out of the way.
Isa 42:16 “And I shall lead the blind by a way they
have not known – in paths they have not known I lead them. I make darkness
light before them, and crooked places straight. These matters I shall do for
them, and I shall not forsake them. - יהוה
will manifest His favor and grace towards those whose spirits He had stirred up
to follow Him, as Ezra 1:5.
Those who ask
the way to Zion ,
יהוה will show the way, and lead in it. Those who were by birth
blinded to the Torah, and those who, being under convictions of sin and wrath
are at a loss and know not what to do with themselves, יהוה
will lead by a way that they knew not,
יהוה will show them the way to life and happiness in Yahushua, who
is the way, and will conduct and carry them on in that way, which before they
were strangers to.
In the
conversion of Paul, he was struck blind first, and then יהוה
revealed His Son to him, and made the scales to fall from his eyes. They are
weak in knowledge, and the truths of יהוה
at first seem unintelligible.
But יהוה
will make darkness light before them,
and knowledge shall be easy to them. They are weak in duty, the commands of יהוה
seem impracticable, and insuperable difficulties are in the way of their
obedience; but יהוה will make crooked things straight; their way shall be plain, and the yoke
easy. Those whom יהוה brings into the right
way HIS Spirit will guide them.
As a type of
this, Set Apart Spirit will lead these newly discovered Hebrew, when they
return out of captivity, in a ready road to their own land again, and nothing
shall occur to perplex or embarrass them in their journey.
These are
great things, and kind things, very great and very kind; but lest any should
say, "They are too great, too kind,
to be expected from יהוה by such an undeserving people as that
of the Jews, such an undeserving world as that of the Gentiles,’’ YAHVEH adds, These things will I do unto them, take my word for it I will,
and I will not forsake them; He
that begins to show this great mercy will go on to do them good.
Isa 42:17 “Those
who trust in idols, who say to the moulded images, ‘You are our mighty ones,’
shall be turned back, utterly ashamed. – יהוה will
particularly put those to confusion who adhere to idols notwithstanding the
attempts made by the preaching of the gospel to turn them from idols: They shall be turned back, and greatly
ashamed, that foolishly trust in graven images.
When the Babylonians
shall see how the Hebrew, who they formally had despise, are owned and
delivered by the Elohim whom they worship without images, and the Gentiles when they
see how idolatry falls before the preaching of the gospel, will be scattered
like darkness before the light of the sun, and melts like snow before heat.
They shall be ashamed
that they ever said to these molten images, “You are our gods”; for how can those idols, help in
their worshippers? Who cannot even help themselves, nor save themselves from
falling to the ground? In the time of this reformation, when many will turn
from their ungodly way, being generally deserted, to becomes unfashionable, it
may be hoped that those who will not be reclaimed from idol worship, will
eventually be ashamed of it.
Isa 42:18 “Hear, you deaf! And look, you
blind, and see. - The prophet, spoken with the use of physical
Handicap metaphor to encourage the believing Hebrews who waited for the
consolation of Yisrael, He turns to those among them who were unbelieving, for
their conviction and humiliation.
Among
those who were in captivity in Babylon ,
there were some who were as the evil figs in Jeremiah’s vision, who were sent for their affliction, to be sent into all
the kingdoms of the earth, against the children of disobedience, Jer.
24:9.
In
them there was a type of the Hebrews who rejected The Messiyah and were
rejected by Him, and then fell under the curse of Deuteronomy 28:15 – 68, while
those who believed were inheriting the blessing of Deuteronomy 28:1 -14; for
they were broken, and ruined, and remain dispersed unto this day.
The
call that is given to these people: "Hear,
you deaf, and attend to the joyful sound, and look you blind, that you may see the joyful light.’’
There
is no absurdity in this command, nor is it unbecoming the wisdom and goodness
of יהוה to
call us to do what is righteous and good; for these dead have natural benefits
which they may employ so as to do better than they do; supernatural grace is
given to those who labor under a moral impotency for that which is good.
This
call to the deaf to hear and the blind to see is like the command given to the
man that had the withered hand to stretch it forth; though he could not do
this, because it was withered, yet, if he had not attempted to do so, he would
not have experience the healing power of faith, and his healing was owing, both
to his action and the divine power.
Isa 42:19 “Who is
blind but My servant, or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as he
who is at peace, and blind as servant of יהוה? - The
character that is given of them: Who is blind, but my servant, or deaf as my
messenger? The people who presses to be Hebrews were professional YAH’s
servants, their priests and elders His messengers (Mal. 2:7); but they were
deaf and blind.
The verse before may be
understood as spoken to the Gentile idolaters, whom יהוה calls deaf
and blind, because they worshipped gods that were so. "But,’’ says
he, "no wonder you are deaf and blind when my own people are as bad as
you, and many of the so-called Ministers are also set upon idolatry.’’
He complains of their
spiritual dilemma as blind; and of their stubbornness as they are deaf. They
were even worse than the Gentiles themselves. What is best becomes, when
corrupted, the worst. "Who is so willfully, so scandalously, blind and
deaf as my servant and my messenger, as Jacob who is my servant (ch. 41:8), and
as their prophets and teachers who are my messengers?
Who is blind as he that
in profession and pretension is perfect, that should come nearer to perfection
than other people, their priests and prophets? The one prophesies falsely, and
the other bears rule by their means; and who so blind as those that will not
see when they have the light shining in their faces?’’
It is a common thing, but
a very sad thing, for those that in profession are YAH’s servants and
messengers to be themselves blind and deaf in spiritual things, ignorant,
erroneous, and very careless.
Blindness and deafness in
spiritual things are worse in those that profess themselves to be YAH’s
servants and messengers than in others. It is in them the greater sin and
shame, the greater dishonor to יהוה, and to themselves a greater
damnation.
Isa 42:20 “You see
much, but do not observe; ears are open, but do not hear.” - The prophet goes on to describe the blindness and
obstinacy of the Hebrews nation, just as our Savior describes it in His time
(Mt. 13:14, 15): Seeing many things,
but observes them not.
Multitudes are ruined for
want of observing that which they cannot see; they perish, not through
ignorance, but mere carelessness. The Hebrew people in our Savior’s time saw
many proofs of His divine mission, but they did not observe them; they seemed
to open their ears to Him, but they did not hear, that is, they did not heed,
did not understand, or believe, or obey, and then it was all one as if they had
not heard.
Isa 42:21 It has delighted יהוה,
for the sake of His righteousness, to make the Torah great and esteemed. – The care יהוה will take for the honor of his
own name, notwithstanding their blindness and deafness, especially of His word,
which יהוה has magnified above all His name.
Shall the unbelief and
obstinacy of men make the promise of EL YAHVEH of no effect? YAHVEH forbid, Rom. 3:3, 4. No, though they are blind and deaf, יהוה will be
no loser in his glory: YAHVEH is well pleased for His righteousness’ sake;
not well pleased with their sin, but well pleased in the manifestation of His
own righteousness, in rejecting them for rejecting the great salvation. EL
YAHVEH speaks as one well pleased, ch. 1:24: Ah! I will ease me of my
adversaries; and Eze. 5:13, I will be comforted.
The scripture was
fulfilled in the casting off of the Jews as well as in the calling in of the
Gentiles, and therein YAHVEH will be well pleased. He will magnify the law
(divine revelation in all the parts of it) and will make it honorable.
The law is truly honorable, and the things written in it are great things; and,
if men will not magnify it by their obedience to it, יהוה will
magnify it himself by punishing them for their disobedience.
He will magnify the law
by accomplishing what is written in it, He will magnify its authority, its
efficacy, its equity. He will do it at last, when all men shall be judged by
the law of liberty, James 2:12. He is doing it every day. What is it that יהוה is doing
in the world, but magnifying the law and making it honorable?
Isa 42:22 But this
is a people robbed and plundered, all of them are snared in holes, and they are
hidden in prison houses. They have become a prey, with no one to deliver – for
plunder, and no one to say, “Restore!” - The
calamities יהוה will bring upon the Hebrew nation for their
wilful blindness and deafness. They are robbed and spoiled.
Those that were impenitent
and unreformed in Babylon
were sentenced to perpetual captivity. It was for their sins that they were
robed of all their possessions, not only in their own land, but in the land of
their enemies.
They were some of them snared
in holes, and others hidden in prison-houses. They cannot help
themselves, for they are snared. Their friends cannot help them, for they are
hidden; and their enemies have forgotten them in their prisons.
They, and all they have,
are for a prey and for a spoil; and there is none that delivers either by force
or ransom, nor any that dares say to the proud oppressors, Restore.
There they lie, and there they are likely to lie. This had its full
accomplishment in the final destruction of the Yisrael nation by the Romans,
which יהוה brought upon them for rejecting the gospel of Messiyah.
Isa 42:23 Who
among you gives ear to this, pays attention and hears for the time to come? - The
counsel given them in order to their relief; for, though their case be sad, it
is not desperate.
The generality of them
are deaf; they will not hearken to the voice of YAH’s word. He will therefore
try HIS rod, and see who among them
will give ear to that. We must not despair concerning those who have
been long reasoned with in vain; some of them may, at length, give ear and
obey.
If one method not take
effect, another may, and sinners shall be left inexcusable. The numerous curses
of Deut 28:15 – 68 speaks volume to this. All of us may, if we will, hear the
voice of יהוה, and we are called and invited to hear it. It is
worth while to enquire who they are that perceive יהוה speaking
to them and are willing to hear him.
Of the many that hear the
voice of יהוה there are very few that obey it or heed it, that
hear it with attention and application. In hearing the word we must have an eye
to the time to come. We must hear for hereafter, for what may occur between us
and the grave; we must especially hear for eternity. We must hear the word with
another world in our eye.
Isa 42:24 Who gave
Yaʽaqoḇ for plunder, and Yisra’ĕl to the robbers? Was it not יהוה,
He against whom we sinned? For they would not walk in His ways, and they did
not obey His Torah! - The counsel is, to acknowledge the hand of יהוה in their
afflictions, and, whoever were the instruments, to have an eye to him as the
principal agent: "Who gave Jacob
and Yisrael, that people that used to have such an interest in Heavens
and such a dominion on earth, who gave them for a spoil to the robbers, as they are now to the Babylonians
and to the Romans?
Did
not YAHVEH who you know HE did;
consider it then, and hear HIS voice in these judgments.’’ To acknowledge that
they had provoked יהוה thus to abandon them, and had
brought all these calamities upon themselves.
These punishments were
first inflicted on them for their disobedience to the laws of יהוה: It is He
against whom we have sinned;
the prophet puts himself into the number of the sinners, As Dan. 9:7, 8. "We have sinned; we have all
brought fuel to the fire; and there are those among us that have willfully
refused to walk in his ways.’’ Jacob and Yisrael would never have been given up
to the robbers if they had not by their iniquities sold themselves.
Therefore it is, because they have violated the commands of
the law, that יהוה has brought upon them the curses of the law; He
has not dropped, but poured upon them
the fury of His anger and the strength of battle, all the desolations of
war, which have set him on fire round
about; for EL YAHVEH surrounds the wicked with His favors. Observed the
power of YAH’s anger; there is no resisting it, no escaping it. See the
mischief that sin makes; it provokes YAHVEH to anger against a people, and so
kindles a universal conflagration, sets all on fire.
Isa 42:25 So He
has poured on him His burning displeasure and the strength of battle, and it
set him on fire all around, yet he did not understand. And it burned against
him, yet he did not take it to heart! - These judgments were continued upon them for their senselessness and
incorrigibleness under the rod of יהוה. These
are the law that was place on the outside of the Ark , that is against us. Like a rod that is
place in our view, as a deterrence against us sinning.
The fire of YAH’s wrath
kindled upon him, and he knew it not,
neither was he aware of it, took no notice of the judgments, at least not of
the hand of יהוה in them. It
burned him, and, though he could not then but know it and feel it, yet
he laid it not to heart, was
not awakened by the fiery rebukes he was under nor at all affected with them.
Those who are not humbled by less judgments must expect greater; for when יהוה judges He
punish with the intent to convert.
Chapter
43
The contents of this
chapter are much the same with those of the foregoing chapter, looking at the release
of the Hebrew out of their captivity, but looking through that, and beyond
that, to the great work of man’s redemption by Yahushua our Messiyah, and the
grace taught in the gospel, which through Him all believers may partake of.
In verse 1 -7 we read
about the precious promises made to YAH’s people in their affliction, of His
presence with them, for their support under it, and their deliverance out of
it.
Isa 43:1 But now, thus
said יהוה, your Creator, O
Yaʽaqoḇ, and He who formed you, O Yisra’ĕl, “Do not fear, for I
have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, you are Mine. - This chapter has a plain connection with the close of the foregoing
chapter, but a very surprising one.
It was said that Jacob
and Yisrael would not walk in YAH’s ways, and that when He corrected them for
their disobedience, they became stubborn and harden their heart; and now one
would think it should have being logical to follow or YAHVEH would utterly
abandon and destroy them; but no, the next words are, but now, fear not, O Jacob! O Yisrael!
I
have redeemed thee, and thou art mine.
Though many among them were untraceable and incorrigible, yet יהוה would
continue His love and care for His people, and the body of that nation should
still be reserved for mercy. YAH’s goodness takes occasion from man’s badness
to appear so much the more illustrious. Where
sin abounded, grace did much more abound (Rom. 5:20), and mercy rejoices against judgment, as having
prevailed and carried the day, Jam.
2:13.
Now the sun, as risen, as
breaking out all of a sudden from behind a thick and dark cloud, shines the
brighter, and with a pleasing surprise. The expressions of YAH’s favor and
good-will to His people are very high, and speak abundance of comfort to all
the spiritual seed of upright Jacob and praying Yisrael; for to us is this gospel preached as well as
unto those that were captives in Babylon, Heb. 4:2. Here we have an
explanation of the purpose of Creation to produce more perfect sons.
Isa 43:2 “When you
pass through the waters, I am with you; and through rivers, they do not
overflow you. When you walk through fire, you are not scorched, and a flame
does not burn you. – When we as believers experience an overwhelming opinion
of the religious persuasion contrary to Torah, it will not sweep us away with
it. The spirit of Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding will see us trought.
Fire represent situation that could consume us, example trials and
tribulation such as what Job experience. Yet, our mind will come thought it
untouched. It is sometime puzzling when I see believers suffering from mental
health issues. This verse teaches me that I will walk thought the fire unaffected.
The promise of YAH’s care
and concern for His people and the interests of His church and kingdom among
men. Jacob and Yisrael, though in a sinful miserable condition, shall be looked
after. We are YAH’s workmanship,
created by Him unto good works, Eph. 2:10. He has created us as He
formed them, not only given them a Spirit, but HIS Spirit to teach them, formed
them trough life circumstance into a peculiar people, and incorporated them by
the words of His covenant.
The new creature, wherever
it is found, is of YAH’s forming, and He
will not forsake the work of HIS own hands. We are the people of HIS
purchase: He has redeemed us. Out of the land of Egypt where He first redeemed
them, and out of many another bondage, in
His love, and in His pity (ch. 63:9); much more will He take care of
those who are redeemed with the blood of His Son, first born Son Yahushua.
Isa 43:3 “For I am
יהוה your Elohim, the
Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl, your Saviour; I gave Mitsrayim (Egypt ) for your ransom, Kush
and Seḇa in your place. – Today
we are יהוה peculiar people, whom HE has distinguished from
others, and set apart for himself: HE has called them as HE called us by name,
as those HE has a particular intimacy with and concern for, and they are his,
are appropriated to him and he has a special interest in them.
He is their Elohim in
covenant: I am YAHVEH thy EL,
we worshipped Him an according to His rules engaged by the promise HE made in
HIS Word, the Holy One of Yisrael,
the EL of Yisrael; for the true Elohim is a holy one, and holiness becomes his
house. And upon all these accounts he might justly say, Fear not, and again Fear
not. Those that have יהוה for themselves need not fear who or what can
be against them.
Isa 43:4 “Since
you were precious in My eyes, you have been esteemed, and I have loved you. And
I give men in your place, and peoples for your life. - The former instances of this care. יהוה has
purchased them dearly: I gave Egypt
for thy ransom, much like the Bride Price a young man pay for a Virgin;
for Egypt was quite laid waste by one plague after another, all their
first-born were slain and all their men of war drowned; and all this to force
away for Yisrael’s deliverance from them.
True believers are
precious in YAH’s sight; they are His jewels, His peculiar treasure (Ex. 19:5);
He loves them, His delight is in them, above any other people.
His church is His
vineyard. And this makes YAH’s people truly honorable, and their name great;
for men are really what they are in YAH’s eye.
When the forces of
correction, that they might be diverted from falling upon Yisrael, were
directed by Providence to fall upon Egypt , Ethiopia , and Seba, then YAHVEH
gave those countries for Yisrael, and showed how precious HIS people were in
his sight.
Isa 43:5 “Do not
fear, for I am with you. I shall bring your seed from the east, and gather you
from the west. - Those of us
that were scattered and dispersed in other nations should all be gathered in
and share in the blessings of the promise.
Some of the seed of Yisrael were dispersed
into all countries, east, west, north, and south, or into all the parts of the
country of Babylon; but those whose spirits יהוה stirred
up to go to Yerushalayim should be fetched in from all parts; divine grace
should reach those that lived in remote places, and at the greatest distance
from each other; and, when the time should come, nothing should prevent their
coming together to return as a body, in answer to that prayer (Ps. 106:47), Gather us from among the heathen, and
in performance of that promise (Deu. 30:4).
Isa 43:6 “I shall
say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’
Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth – If any believers is sent
or driven to the utmost parts of the Earth, they the YAHVEH our EL gather thee, which we will find pleasing on behalf of the
children of the captivity, Neh. 1:9.
Isa 43:7 all those
who are called by My Name, whom I have created, formed, even made for My
esteem.” - But who are the seed of Yisrael that He shall
carefully gathered in? He tells us in this verse that they are such as יהוה has
marked for mercy.
We are called by His
name; they make a profession of the pure religion, and are distinguished from
the rest of the world by their covenant-relation to and denomination from him by keeping the
Sabbath.
They are created for His glory; the spirit of
Yisraelites is created in them, and they are formed according to the will of יהוה, and
these shall be gathered in.
Those only are fit to be
called by the name of יהוה that are created by His grace
for His glory; and those whom יהוה has created and called shall
be gathered in to Messiyah as their head and hereafter to Heavens as their
home. He shall gather in His elect,
the Mature Believers from the four corner of the Earth.
This promise points at
the gathering in of the dispersed of the Gentiles, and the strangers scattered,
by the gospel of Yahushua, who died to gather
together in one, the children of יהוה that were
scattered abroad.
For the promise was to
all that were afar off, even as many as YAHVEH our EL shall call and create.
The Holy Spirit is with the true church, those who keep the Commandments, and
therefore let her not fear; none that belong to her shall be lost.
Isa 43:8 He shall
bring out a blind people who have eyes, and deaf ones who have ears. - יהוה here
challenges the worshippers of idols to produce such proofs of the divinity of
their false gods as even this very instance (to go no further) of the
redemption of the Jews out of Babylon furnished the people of Yisrael with, to
prove that their Elohim is the true and living Elohim, and He only.
Isa 43:9 All the
nations shall be assembled, and the peoples be gathered. Who among them declares
this, and show us former events? Let them give their witnesses, to be declared
right; or let them hear and say, “It is truth.”- The patrons of idolatry are here called to appear,
and say what they have to say in defense of their idols. Their gods have eyes
and see not, ears and hear not, and those that make them and trust in them
are like unto them; so David had said (Ps. 115:8).
To which the prophet
seems here to refer when he calls idolaters blind people that have eyes, and
deaf people that have ears.
They have the shape,
capacities, and faculties, of men; but they are, in effect, destitute of reason
and common sense, or they would never worship gods of their own making. "Let
all the nations therefore be gathered together, let them help one another,
and with a combined force plead the cause of their dunghill gods; and, if they
have nothing to say in their own justification, let them hear what the Elohim
of Yisrael has to say for their conviction and confutation.’’
Isa 43:10 “You are
My witnesses,” declares יהוה, “And My servant
whom I have chosen, so that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am
He. Before Me there was no Ěl formed, nor after Me there is none. - YAH’s witnesses are subpoenaed, or summoned to appear, and give evidence
on HIS behalf: "You, O
Yisraelites! all you that are called
by my name, you are all my
witnesses, and so is my servant
whom I have chosen.’’ It was Messiyah himself that was so described (ch.
42:1), My servant and my elect.
Observe,
All the prophets that
testified of Messiyah, and Yahushua himself, the great prophet, are here
appealed to as YAH’s witnesses.
YAH’s people are
witnesses for HIM, and can attest, upon their own knowledge and experience,
concerning the power of His grace, the sweetness of His comforts, the tenderness
of His providence, and the truth of His promise.
They will be forward to
witness for HIM that HE is gracious and that no word of HIS has fallen to the
ground.
HIS prophets are in a
particular manner witnesses for HIM, with whom HIS secret is, and who know more
of HIM than others do. But the Messiyah especially is given to be a witness for
him to the people; having lain in his bosom from eternity, He has declared him.
Renew Covenant
Rev 22:6 - 23
Rev 22:6 And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true.
And יהוה Elohim of the
set-apart prophets has sent HIS Messenger to show HIS Servants what has to take
place with speed. – We have here a solemn ratification of the contents of this
book, and particularly of this last vision (though some think it may not only
refer to the whole book, but to the whole renewed Covenant, yea, to the whole
of Scripture, completing and confirming the Torah.
This is
confirmed by the name and nature of that Mighty One who gave out these
discoveries: HE is YAHVEH Elohim,
faithful and true, and so are all His sayings.
Rev 22:7 “See, I am coming speedily! Blessed is
he who guards the Words of the prophecy of this book.” – By the messengers HE chooses, to reveal
these things to the world; the holy angels showed them to holy men of YAH; and
He would not employ HIS saints and angels in deceiving the world.
Rev 22:8 And I,
Yoḥanan, saw and heard these matters. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to
worship before the feet of the messenger who showed me these matters. – They will soon be
confirmed by their accomplishment: they are things that must shortly be done;
Yahushua will make haste, He will come quickly, and put all things in
their right place; and then those will prove to be the wise, will be happy men
who have believed and kept His words.
Rev 22:9 And he said to me, “See, do not! For I
am your fellow servant, and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who are
guarding the words of this book. Worship Elohim.” – By the integrity of
the Torah which had been the apostle’s guide and interpreter in these visions;
a mature believer integrity was such that he not only refused to accept
religious adoration from John, but once and again reproved him for it.
He who was so
tender an affection for the honor of YAHVEH, will be so displeased with that
which was wrong to YAHVEH, he would never come in His name to lead the people
of YAH into mere dreams and delusions; and it is a still further confirmation
of the sincerity of this apostle that he confesses his own sin and folly, into
which he had now again relapsed, and he leaves this verse as an example of his
failing: this shows he was a mature, faithful servant.
Rev 22:10 And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy
of this book, because the time is near. – By the order given to leave the book of the prophecy open, to be
seen by all, that they might labor to understand it, that they might make their
objections against it, and compare the prophecy with the events.
EL YAHVEH
here deals freely and openly with all; HE does not speak in secret, but calls
every mature believer to witness to the declarations made here.
Rev 22:11 “He who does wrong, let him do more wrong; he who is
filthy, let him be more filthy; he who is righteous, let him be more righteous;
he who is set-apart, let him be more set-apart. - By the effect this book, must be kept open, the effect it will
have upon men; those that are filthy and unjust will take occasion thence to be
more so, but it will confirm, strengthen, and further sanctify those that are
upright before EL YAHVEH; it will be a source of life to some and of death to
others
Rev 22:12 “And see, I am coming speedily, and My
reward is with Me, to give to each according to his work.1 Footnote: 1See Mt.
16:27, John 5:29.- The Christian
religion teaches us the there will be a judgment. This verse says that HE is
coming back with HIS reward. To the level of maturity we reach here on earth,
we will be rewarded accordingly.
Those in the Outer-court,
servant in Heavens, Rev 7:15, those in the Holy Place , messenger in Heavens, Rev
7:11, those in the Holy of Holies rulers in Heavens Rev 3:21.
Rev 22:13 “I am the
‘Aleph’ and the Tav (את), the
Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. – This verse illustrate what יהושע our Messiyah achieve. - The first thing Elohim created was the
Word, the Aleph and the Tav, the first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
The King James bible does not translate the Hebrew word “את” in Genesis 1:1. It was conveniently left out of the Scripture.
John
1:1 however, correctly translate it as in the beginning was the Word. The Word
is the standard by which our reward will be measured by. The commandments will
be the standard that will determine what reward we received. That is why we are
constantly being admonish to keep the commandments of Yahushua, became the Word
by living according to the Word. We too will be ask to do the same. We can
become the Word, when the Word resides in us.
Rev 22:14 “Blessed are those1 doing His commands,2
so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter
through the gates into the city. Footnotes: 1See Mt.
19:17. 2Long before the books were compiled to form “The New
Testament,” - It is the word of
him who is the author, finisher, and rewarder of the faith and holiness of HIS
people. He is the first and the last,
and the same from first to last, and so is HIS word too; and He will by this
word give to His people, who conform themselves to it, a right to the tree of life, and an entrance into Heavens; and
this will be a full confirmation of the truth and authority of his word, since
it contains the title and evidence of that confirmed state of holiness and
happiness that remains for his people in Heavens.
Rev. 22:14 was quoted, as it is
here given, by Tertullian (CE 208), and by Cyprian (CE 251) – see the
well-known Antenicene Fathers.-
Rev 22:15 “But outside are the dogs
and those who enchant with drugs, and those who whore, and the murderers, and
the idolaters, and all who love and do falsehood.1 Footnote: 1See 21:27, 2 Thess. 2:11 - It is a book that condemns and excludes
from Heavens all wicked, unrighteous persons, and particularly those that love and make lies, and
therefore can never be itself a lie. It is confirmed by the testimony of Yahushua, which is the Spirit of prophecy.
What is the Truth? The truth is anything that is written in Torah. The
child who says he did to take the cookie, when infact he did, is not telling a
lie. He is just being self protecting. However the person who says the 4th
commandment was nail to the cross is a liar, and the truth is not in them.
Dogs are those believers who return to what they knew to be false of
what has been rejected before. Have you ever seen those people who you tell
them that Sunday is not the Sabbath yet they still attend Sunday service.
Rev 22:16 - I, יהושע, have sent My
messenger to witness to you these matters
in the assemblies. I am the Root and the Offspring of Dawiḏ,1 the
Bright and Morning Star.” Footnote: 1Isa. 11:1 & 10,
Rev. 5:5. - Messengers have been sent to witness to them as a witness was send to
Pharaoh before judgment comes.
Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say,
“Come!” And he who hears, let him say, “Come!” And he who thirsts, come! And he
who desires it, take the water of life without paying! – It is confirmed by
the joint testimony of the Spirit of YAHVEH, and that gracious Spirit that is
in all the true members of the Assembly of MESSIYAH ;
the Spirit and the bride join in testifying the truth and Excellency of
the gospel.
Rev 22:18 For I witness to everyone hearing the words of the
prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the
plagues that are written in this book, - It is confirmed by a most solemn sanction, condemning and
cursing all who should dare to corrupt or change the word of YAHVEH, either by
adding to it or taking from it.
He that adds to the word of YAHVEH draws down
upon himself all the plagues written in this book; and he who takes any
thing away from it cuts himself off from all the promises and privileges of it.
Rev 22:19 and if anyone
takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim shall take away
his part from the Book of Life, and out of the set-apart city, which are
written in this Book. – This sanction is like a flaming sword, to guard the canon
of the scripture from profane hands. Such a fence as this YAWEH set about the
law (Deu. 4:2), and the whole Old Testament (Mal. 4:4), and now in the most
solemn manner about the whole Scripture, assuring us that it is a book of the
most sacred nature, divine authority, and of the last importance, and therefore
the peculiar care of the great Elohim YAHVEH.
Rev 22:20 He that
bears witness of these matters says, “Yes, I am coming speedily.” Amĕn. Yes,
come, Master יהושע! – We have now come to the conclusion of
the whole, and that in three things:— Yahushua’s farewell to His church.
He seems now, after He has been discovering these things to his people on
earth, to take leave of them, and return to Heavens. While in Heavens He sits
at the Right and of His Father making atonement for us.
He parts with
them in great kindness, and assures them it shall not be long before He comes
again to them: Behold, I come quickly.
As when
Yahushua ascended into Heavens, after His resurrection, He parted with a
promise of His gracious presence, so here He parts with a promise of a speedy
return. If any say, "Where is the promise of Yahushua coming, when so many
ages have passed since this was written?’’ let them know Yahushua is not slack
to His people, but long-suffering to His enemies.
His coming
will be sooner than they are aware, sooner than they are prepared, sooner than
they desire; and to His people it will be seasonable.
The vision is
for an appointed time, and will not tarry. He will come quickly; let
this word be always sounding in our ear, and let us give all diligence that we
may be found of Him in peace, without spot and blameless.
Rev 22:21 The favor of our Master יהושע Messiyah be with the set-apart ones.
Amĕn. – The grace that is so essential for our spiritual growth may it be with us
always as we journey to our ultimate destination.
Grace has the same spiritual declaration as favor. If it was not for that
favor we would not have a second chance to redo that test we have just failed.
Sin is the failure to do that which is required of us as a citizen of the Kingdom of Heavens .
Sin tells us the level of commitment we have made to learn the Commandment,
Precepts, Statues and Judgment of the Kingdom of Heavens .
Temptation exposed our weakness and our strength. Temptation is a good thing,
for it helps to maximize our strength and strengthen our spiritual weaknesses.
The whole purpose of Torah is to define the
parameters of the kingdom
of Heavens to humans.
None of us as a citizen of the Kingdom
of Heavens have a choice
in what Commandment we choose to be obedient to. These laws cannot change and
will never change. The law or commandments, is the tree of the knowledge of
good or evil, the laws that tell us what actions is good and what actions are
bad. How else would we know what is right or what is wrong unless there is a
law that said so! Faith in the Messiyah does not negate the law, it gives us
grace that when we are tempted and fail the temptation, we are given a second
chance to correct or overcome the next temptation.
Most of us believe that when we achieved our
spiritual goals, something new will appear in our lives or things will somehow
change. It is not going to happen. When pain, suffering, and death are finally
removed forever, the result will not be something new. It will be like seeing
beauty where it was all along, or like looking all over the house for our keys,
only to come back to our desk to see that they were sitting right there all
along.
As believers we need to realize that
perfection exist now. Yes right where you are. We were created in the image of
YAHVEH, the perfection of this world is here now. Our work is simply to remove
the illusion that tells us otherwise, and the best way to o it is together.
